  1. Sheamus vs. Roman Reigns (RAW 12/14/15) Goc pointed this out as an example of Roman pulling his weight, after I remarked in the Payback thread that Roman didn't seem to be able to do so when he was working in main events. I'll admit that this match did a lot more for me than Roman's matches with HHH and Styles, but, it didn't feel like Roman was performing marginally better, or different. The few things that he was given to do were well done, like putting over the midsection after Sheamus did rolling senton, and he was good about milking the near falls at the end. But, that's part of the problem I've had with him, he doesn't seem to have much at all to do other than his four main moves (drive by, jumping lariat, Superman punch, and spear). Now granted, the angle here is that Vince is trying to stack the deck against him, so, it makes sense to have him behind the 8 ball for most of the match. But, the finish run kicked off with a Superman punch near fall with Vince pulling out the ref, and it's not like the Superman punch has ever been made out to be a potential finisher.
  2. Except he's already pulled his weight in main event matches numerous times. But I realize a lot of people are married to the "hurr Roman sucks!" narrative despite all evidence to the contrary. Care to provide a few recommendations? Last night with Styles, although I still plan on re-watching it, and Mania with HHH both struck me as uninspired efforts from him.
  3. I may have to watch Reigns/Styles again, because I seem to be the only person here who didn't really care for it. It had a few great moments, like the Superman punch while AJ was airborne, and the near fall from the 450. But, it seemed to be booked and structured to try to hide the fact that Roman isn't good enough to pull his weight in a main event match. I'm assuming that tonight will be a trios between Bullet Club and Reigns/Usos with AJ getting the pin on him, to heat up Extreme Rules.
  4. It's up now! 5/31/01.
  5. With the network presently on a big Smackdown! dump, two episodes seem to be noticeably absent. SD #25, featuring the in-ring debuts of the Radicalz, and also the 5/24/01 featuring TCL III. I assume the main reason for their exclusion is Benoit being featured so prominently. Edit: And what do you know? 5/24/01 is uploaded now!
  6. Dare I say that his rant was Cornette-esque!
  7. I won't see it until tomorrow at the earliest. How did the crowd react to Gallows and Anderson attacking Roman?
  8. I think Cornette would have been a good mouthpiece to put with Dash and Dawson.
  9. It doesn't seem like such a big stretch. They lumped in ECW on TNN with ECW Hardcore TV, so lumping in WCW Saturday night with the existing World Championship Wrestling episodes would work.
  10. "We ran three shows a day, seven days a week!"
  11. Based off FPT's comment in the giant TNA thead. Which of them has had been worse for the business over the last ten years?
  12. OMG yes. Jim did a really good job at keeping Greg on track, but once Greg got going, there was no coming back.
  13. It looks like that's how it's going to end up, just like the end of ECW.
  14. Did they say whether or not Gallows is going by Luke Gallows or Doc Gallows?
  15. I did a google search, to make sure I'm not crazy (I still might be, but not about this. . . . ) They credit Meltzer with the report. I let my sub lapse, so I don't know if there's any validity to it, or if they're just using his name for the hell of it. http://www.ewrestlingnews.com/news/backstage-news-why-kassius-ohno-was-fired
  16. I believe it was reported that Hero was released because he was complaining about not being called up to the main roster, and saying the he thought he was better than some of the ones who had.
  17. That's brilliant!
  18. Why is Ambrose/Brock a street fight? Considering where the show is taking place, a Texas Death Match would be more appropriate.
  19. VINCE RUSSO Where do you even begin? David Arquette as the WCW Champion. Vince Russo as the WCW Champion. The Voodoo Kin Mafia. Team Pacman. Beaver Cleavage, GTV. Terri Runnels miscarriage. Judy Bagwell on a forklift. He tries to take credit for everything that was good, including just recently claiming the Montreal screwjob was his idea! And when something didn't work or get over, then it was somebody else's idea or fault. Hell, try to read his blogs, and you'll see that he doesn't even know English. He says shit like Kevin Dunn is always at Vince McMahon's "BECKON CALL" or talks about the great "SEDIMENTS" he has from remembering the glory days of the attitude era.
  20. How well did Steen's involvement in EVOLVE 9 go over?
  21. That story alone is worth the price of the disc/download/stream/etc.
  22. Vince Russo claimed it was all his idea, in his KC Timeline. It took nearly twenty years for the truth to come out! (I hope y'all are picking up the sarcasm, I'm laying it on pretty thick here!)
  23. His issue has always been egregious kayfabe breaches within the wrestling program/exhibition itself. Which he's been much more consistent about. He actually addressed this on the Drive Thru today. It's not that he dislikes the Young Bucks personally, he's always said that he thinks they're good kids. But, he dislikes the goofy shit they do, like giving the kid a birthday superkick.
  24. I think it's a possibility that Ambrose wins for the following reasons: - They have the Wyatt Family right there to screw over Brock. - Ambrose spent the last half of 2014 getting beaten like a drum by Seth Rollins and then Bray Wyatt, and, still wound up being one of a very few that wasn't booed at last year's Royal Rumble. - If what happened with HHH at the Rumble is any indication, then there is no way anyone cheers for Reigns on Sunday. They had the backup plan last year with Daniel Bryan to put him over afterwards, but no such luck this year. - Fast Lane is in Cleveland. Ambrose in from Cincinnati.
