  1. If this doesn't signal the death of TNA to the TNA hardcores, I don't know what else will.
  2. This is true, but I find the criteria Matt is applying in this situation to be pedantic and pointless. It's not judging the work, but judging the work based on potential future work. Bill, I think Matt Farmer is trying to say that the women are handled a lot different on the main roster than what they are in NXT cause of the situation of the television production on Mondays, Tuesdays and PPV Sundays. And he's also right that a lot of the women there at the Performance Center are green. Sasha Banks had only been wrestling for five years with her only experience being with New England Indys and WWE along with Charlotte being trained from the ground up. He's saying that the women have to be in these crazy situations on the main roster of having their match time cut down continuously until most of the stuff they want to do is thrown out by the agent and producers backstage. The women have the extreme short end of the stick but this happens to a lot of male talent there as well. It happened to Daniel Bryan when he got there. It happened to Cesaro and etc. it all depends if Vince and Dunn will give them the time once they get called up. It doesn't matter how talented you are in the entertainment business when you given a bad script or bad direction to showcase something that management wants. They can get no direction and do a kick ass match but get a mouthful from management backstage for it cause it wasn't their view for what the match is. They are petty like that. What gives me personal hope is the match Sasha had with Charlotte on Main Event in January and they had a good match in that 5 or 7 minutes they had. If they can do that on the main roster, they will be fine and they will start turning heads. They have the talent and they are being trusted by the brass of NXT to the point that Sasha is being the last match of the night and is now on most the posters of NXT shows. You could make a case they are positioning Sasha as the ace of NXT with Owens being in this feud with Cena, Zayn and Itami being out due to injury and the weird positioning they are doing with Finn Balor. She is starting to look like one of the main players for them which is a testament to her and her work. I had high hopes for Paige when she got up cause of what I saw in NXT and they gave her time to work with Tamina on Extreme Rules 2014 but the fans reacted like it was any other divas match. I personally liked that match and if you put that same match in NXT at that time in 2014, people would be praising it. The women's matches needs time from the management and management needs to train the audience to pay attention to the divas matches instead going to the bathroom or checking their phones. Plain and simple.
  3. Since this popped up on the Observer free show feed, I checked it and you guys did a good job. You guys brought up good memories I have of Bryan when he was ROH.
  4. It will be interesting to see how people view it compared to Reigns/Lesnar. I would say that this match is the second best WWE match of the year next to Roman vs Brock. Both were intense, violent matches for today's standards but the context of the uncertainty of Reigns vs Lesnar on the biggest show of the year pushes a little bit more than Sasha vs Becky. (Even though you can make a case about both challengers getting pushes that you think for certain that they were going over the champion) Sasha vs Becky is a solid **** where Brock vs Reigns was looking like the best mania main event ever before the cash in of Rollins. EDIT: I totally forgot about the Royal Rumble Triple Threat and the Reigns vs Bryan match from Fastlane. I guess it's the fourth best match of the year in WWE which still isn't bad. Still a MOTY candidate.
  5. With Ziggler, it was hardway. WWE has videos on their YouTube page of Bryan, Ziggler and Sheamus getting stitches in the back. All three of have those deep cuts that pro fighters get when they get head butted or hit with an elbow. No Brock video though.
  6. Thank you for doing this. I've been trying to get into Lucha for years and maybe this will help me.
  7. Is this a new one or the one from a few months ago?
  8. The small bit where Jeff and Dylan talked about Luke Harper winning King of the Ring and the vignettes they could shoot made laugh for at least 10 minutes.
  9. All 4 guys were positioned as the new four corners of heaven in 2006 when they did that 30 minute draw and all raised their hands at the end of the match. But it was clear that they were slow tracking Morishima to be the man in the future. If he wasn't, Misawa would have not took the belt off Marufuji after one title defense ( I don't count the Nigel defense in terms of drawing in Japan) especially with that one title defense having one of the worst undercards NOAH put out at Budokan Hall. Morishima in ROH was the trial run for him before he got the GHC belt to see how he would be as the number one guy. And Morishima wasn't in NOAH. Part of that Takeshi main event was that Rikio wasn't a guy the fans accepted either.
  10. Kobashi was barely on the roster: he was making a comeback that year, and as I said never worked a singles match that year before going out for the year on the same card where Sasaki won the belt. So if we take Misawa as the only star on the roster. He's the one who put Morishima over. He'd tried to get other people over in the past in NOAH, each of whom also put Morishima over in either the chase or after he got the belt. NOAH was fucked. It really wasn't Misawa's fault that none of the fans bought anyone as being an Ace other than he and Kobashi. He kept trying from 1998 on to get someone else over as the Ace in both All Japan and NOAH. They all failed, except for Kobashi's one period of being healthy in NOAH. I agree. You could see the promotion losing steam as Misawa's reign progressed. Looking back it was a slow down hill slide from Misawa/Kawada at the Dome in 2005. Also, what was the time frame of Kobashi's cancer absence. Kobashi was out from July of 2006 to December of 2007.
  11. I was just watching some of Morishima's run in ROH the other day. Sad stuff to hear about. Like Fantastic said, you really would have thought that Morishima would go to New Japan though this talent exchange that was going on now with NOAH and New Japan. I kinda wish his WWE dark matches would surface up online somehow.
  12. People kicking out of finishers regularly. I remember a wrestler kicking out of a finisher was huge, now it happens every week.
  13. Idk if this was posted before on the board but here is Lucha Undeground's tribute to Perro Aguayo Jr.
  14. Rapper Plies got belly to belly suplexed by a crazy fan from the stage to the floor last night.
  15. Looking forward to this show. I've always wondered how UWF ended ever since I got the Mid South set.
  16. I've heard most of the these things from non wrestling fans but the last time I talked to someone who was a non wrestling fan was about Mayweather against Big Show. He said that wrestling was for f____. (Yeah, you could fill in the blank.) Also add Colin Cowherd to the stupid things non wrestling fans say as he said on air today, "I don't watch wrestling cause I like girl parts and stuff".
  17. I thought Dylan was off base on the PTBN reaction show saying that Triple H made himself the star of the promotion but after last night, but I stand corrected. I genuinely hope Brock and Ronda is not the tag team match neither Triple H doing another program with Brock.
  18. Vince's comments during a conference all today. I don't know what to make of this comment.. Does he actually believe this? If we believe that Vince is the micro manager that former employees say he is, then he absolutely believes what he is saying.
  19. I get the feeling that Reigns will get the belt at Summerslam and will face Cena for the title at Mania next year. It would be the company's clone of Hogan vs Warrior. It's not a main event the fans would want but Vince probably thinks it would draw. Rousey/ Rock vs Stephanie and Triple H would be money if Dana White allows her to do it. As for Brock, I wouldn't be surprised Batista comes back after shooting the Bond film.
  20. I listened to the show and even though I don't agree with Will's opinions on certain things in wrestling, I was shock how Aubery was caping up for the WWE has been booked and ran a couple times to the argument saying "Well, Will, you know it's fake right." Will said it beautifully when he said that this is entertainment that should make me suspend my disbelief and that's what it should be. If the "fake" argument holds weight, then the comic book industry wouldn't be alive, wrestling wouldn't alive, fiction books along with TV shows and movies wouldn't be alive today.
  21. I'm anxious to listen to this show on my way home from work. From listening to other shows like Shake Them Ropes and Lapsed Fan to reading the reactions on this board, the Squared Circle Reddit and Twitter, Mania has been panned as either a great show or a really bad show.
  22. Regal talked to Todd Phillips on the App last night about that. He said he was so nervous that night that he forgot the belt was upside down.
  23. TV Azteca Baja California has the most saddening footage as a camera crew was ringside at the show. I WILL NOT post that footage cause of the nature of the scene. They transferred Perro to an stretcher in the hallway of the arena. This happened long enough that fans started to go into the hallway, thus they had to rush Perro Jr. to the ambulance. They showed closeups of Rey, who was horrified. Just a frightening scene and I advise people not to watch the TV Azteca footage.
