  1. I can see him working more Elite than CMLL. CMLL looks like they want to focus on Golfen Magic as their Indy newcomer. Also depends if the En Busco tournament is coming back.
  2. His records can hold up for me (and I'm talking for me) because I have a personal connection to the music. Plus I was raised when hip hop was already here. The limitations you talk about are the linguistics of hip hop culture not connecting universally like regular singers do. But even then, not everybody' is going to connect with a Curtis Mayfield. Doesn't matter how old or young you are, stuff might not connect with you. Certain things are not palatable for certain people but you have to try it before you write it off. Certain sections of wrestling can be applied the same. The thing with the GWE and I said this in the Wrestling Today thread is that the climate of this board tends towards older wrestling. Most of the podcasts here cover the history of the territories. Where is the show covering 90s EMLL and AAA cards? BTS does it on certain episodes but that's it. Where is the Battlarts podcast? Bill Thompson does a WOS podcast but it's on another site. Certain wrestlers were pimped but not to a certain extent for the PWO audience.
  3. I'm a huge hip-hop aficinado as some of you know, and I could see an argument where the #1 rap guy doesn't make the overall 100. Like, say GZA from Wu-Tang would make my top 5 hip-hop artists list easily, but I don't know if he makes my top 100 artists overall list. Cos I'm just not sure if hip-hop has the real depth or emotional maturity of some other forms of music. I would also say that I'm not sure if there's anyone here who has a deeper respect or understanding for hip-hop than I do on this board -- it's possible, but I've got to be up there. I don't want to make equivalences across to wrestling, becuase I am done talking about specific wrestlers, but I think it's possible to side-line entire styles, even ones you love and value, and be fine with it. Parv, I'm guessing you never listened to a Big KRIT record. Lots of emotional maturity in his albums. Hip hop has depth and a lot of it is tied to the Black experience. Very similar looking at that to other wrestling around the world. There are character aspects I don't connect with certain wrestlers from around the globe cause it's tied so much to that native culture. Take a wrestler like Atlantis. Never really stuck to me but I have respect for him. But Mexicans love him.
  4. You are not alone. I liked the match cause it was what it was supposed to be. I wasn't expecting limb work from these two. Granted Volador Jr is starting to annoy me in that he's doing a lot of the same stuff but I thought Dorada really brought it. UG is starting to be one of my favorites this year. Quentin, when is the next Sorpresa Lucha podcast coming?
  5. Places like Twitter, Facebook and Reddit have taken the message boards, the chat rooms and the groups to the masses to where people don't have to feel a certain type of way when going to message board. I can talk wrestling, music, movies, politics, etc with people on a macro level on those sites. Being part of technology is accepted now where as it wasn't 20 years ago on a macro level. Granted I still post on message boards cause it gives a place for a longer more thought out views. With PWO, the climate of the site skews toward older wrestling. It was not like that when I joined the site right when you guys broke off from DVDVR. But what Dylan coins the "footage explosion" era happened with stuff from the past being uploaded to YouTube and Dailymotion constantly so that a lot of people who didn't have the money to constantly buy tapes or didn't tape trade finally had access to footage. For me, I stopped watching wrestling as a whole around the time and when I came back to this site, it was great cause I was finding all of this stuff that I never knew exist. However, time has passed since I've started watching wrestling regularly and now I go to VOW or Wrestling with Words for modern stuff now cause I'm enjoying modern wrestling. I heard Dylan voicing his frustration on the Wrestling Culture Reaction to the GWE Project before I went to work and I understand his point of view but I think the climate wasn't going to produce a wide range of thoughts on certain wrestlers. Most of the topics on PWO are on older wrestling. Most of PWO's podcasts are reflecting on older wrestling (which they are fun to listen to btw) The results were going to reflect to that audience. I missed submitting a ballot cause I got busy with stuff in my personal life. My ballot would've been different than a lot of people on this board cause I have different tastes. But I'm just one vote. It wouldn't have changed a whole lot in the results.
  6. Hasn't said anything on Twitter. He liked this tweet https://twitter.com/felonious_munk/status/723024031868432384
  7. So sad. TNA is on a channel that people with normal cable/satellite packages actually get here America. El Rey is extra.
  8. Really good show. Makes me regret not submitting a ballot like I was going to do but I got super busy leading up to Mania weekend.
  9. I'm currently listening to the show but I wanted ask this cause you guys talked about Ultimo Dragon. You guys talked months ago about Ultimo jumping to AAA with the Moreno sisters because he was part of the family. Which one was he married to at the time?
  10. My thinking is that either Kevin Dunn or the head of the production at the time knew too thus other people in production had to know. They continued rolling the cameras after the screwjob happened and Bret destroying everything included him writing WCW in the air with his finger. Somebody made the call to the camera guys to keep rolling on it.
  11. Minneapolis just got jobbed out of hosting Wrestlemania in 2017. Which means Roman will miss his opportunity to run through the crowd and eat a Jucy Lucy, truly the best burger in the nation. End of debate. Whataburger is great but now I want that.
  12. When did Flair and Morton go an hour?
  13. Do they become members-only once they're archived? Because I'm looking at the site now, and there's only one show with the "FREE" tag that's been posted in the four days since I asked the question. I think it's only free to listen to the Sirius show live. Afterward it's a members-only audio with all the commercials cut out. If get the Tune In App on your phone or tablet and search for Observer Live, they do have the shows there but there are commercials and they couple days behind on shows.
  14. What do you mean by decent? I just checked Ticketmaster and I see offers for seats in Section E (camera left, stage right) and C. The ringside seats go up to 10,000 dollars per ticket? I am all for a brand split and I would perfer everyone I don't like to be on one brand with HHH and Stephanie so I can make sure to never watch that show. In order to accomplish this WWE will need to re-brand the women as mentioned above. Total Divas would need to be re-casted to include retired/non-wrestlers so they can be on the HHH/Stephanie brand and the other brand can be for the actual workers and NXT calls ups. Again, WWE can have its cake and eat it to. The new Total Divas would be: Rosa, Cameron, Eva, Summer Rae, Lana, Jo Jo, and of course The Bellas. Decent meaning that the $150 tickets that decent seats are selling for $500 on StubHub. But what is there end game number for paid attendance in a reality sense? They want to claim 100k but what's the real number paid that they want to get? 70 or 80k?
  15. I thought Dylan was out of mind when he said it last year on one of the Reaction shows after Payback (might have been that show but in that time frame). But now it's getting ridiculous. I turned off Raw after the Golden Truth segment but I woke up and saw the closing segment (not the YouTube version). You have Reigns holding his arm (which he sold well) playing scared to Triple H (without a sledgehammer btw) but at least he brawled with him. But to bang his head on the table to the rhythm of the fans chanting "Yes" was alarming to me. Even Vince Russo of all people on Wrestling Inc thought something might be there. To me, the most sensible angle to shoot during that segment is what they did with Roman vs Bryan : brawl like hell until everybody breaks it up. Reigns getting over is lost cause now so you might as well make him look strong but nope. To be fair, most of the roster is booked horrible but the bungling of Reigns since Mania of last year has been so glaring bad. Dylan and Kris stated on the Reaction show and Parv laid it out in his article at PTBN. But last night proved it.
  16. This is the same guy who thought Tugboat and Hogan would draw 100k in LA. His mind been gone.
  17. The one thing about the political hit theory that I've always wondered about is that Kris mentioned in a Reaction show a while back saying Roman was Triple H's guy and Big E was Vince's guy coming up from NXT. I want more clarification on that cause I'm not a current Observer subscriber. We all know that they protected the hell out of Roman when he was in the Shield and Punk confirmed it. Now, when did Roman fall out of being Triple H's guy and why did Rollins become his guy. It's interesting cause when watching WWE 24 as Rollins say "We run this joint" after he won the title around Cesaro and Sami Zayn in a non kayfabe environment.
  18. What makes this funny is that all of what you mentioned has a realistic shot of happening at Mania.
  19. I say Vince, Triple H and Steph come out and award it to .... Vince. Then Vince turns around and gives it to Triple H. Thus Brock and Heyman come out with Heyman talking about knowing Vince J McMahon as a teenager and Triple H not being the man that he was. Out comes Roman and out comes Dean and that is the first 30 minutes of Raw cause WWE creative is not that creative. I hope they prove me wrong.
  20. So Vince giving the finger to the fans when he was referee part of the show too?
  21. I'm surprised no one brought up Vince giving the finger to the fans a couple weeks ago when he was guest referee. Or the story Jericho told on his podcast of Vince bumped shoulders with Kofi Kingston on the plane. As corporate as they want to be, they are still a wrestling company and people from the outside look at wrestling as a wacky thing and Vince is the ringleader of the circus.
  22. I got to see Smackdown this morning and it was a really good show. Almost ROH TV like in terms of how simple the format was. All 4 matches were at least decent and there wasn't any unnecessary comedy that went on long. Sasha vs Naomi was decent but I think it could've went better. I like WWE's version of Sky Team with Neville and the Lucha Dragons plus AJ vs Jericho II was better than their first one.
  23. To put context on the London smiling deal, it was when they did that deal on Raw where Vince walked in front the roster to his car. It was supposed to be serious but it was moments before his car blew up. The next week was supposed to be the funeral of Vince but Benoit happened.
  24. Who else saw the commercial for MSG show that has Owens vs Ambrose in a 30 minute Ironman Match? I wish that was on the Network.
  25. Steve now has the curse of picking the coolest intro song ever that people are going to constantly ask about it, he posted it in the thread for the last episode Thanks for posting the song. I wouldn't have guessed it being from Taiwan.
