EricR Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 They all have worth, but the Drew/Masters Smackdown matches are 90-120 seconds long. They're fun because they seem oddly complete for matches that are sub 2 minutes, a testament to how good both are. The Superstars matches a always longer and always better. All are worth seeking out.
Dylan Waco Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 I should note that there are maybe three matches I've seen all of this year I like more than the Drew Mac v. Masters match from Superstars this year.
rovert Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Jay Phoenix that UK wrestler was taking about last week was convicted for having child porn images the other today. He came to court wearing a Tap Out shirt......
Bix Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 Good luck on Bleacher, Bix. Please avoid the Slideshows as much as possible. They really suck, and I see way too many of them in soccer coverage. I always get the Dave Scherer Spreading Out An Update Onto 10 Pages For Clicks feeling... and I don't think that's a vibe you want to give off. John Thanks. Slideshows will be part of what I have to do, but I'm going to do them as organically as possible and make sure they have solid content that works in the format and don't get unwieldy. I've seen sites where I thought that the format was handled well (like Dan Feinberg's Emmy nomination submission rundowns on Hitfix) so I think there are ways it can work without being annoying. News won't be stuck there. That you don't have to worry about. I'll give an example because I'm working on it right now: With the reports that Hunico/Mystico de Juarez/Incognito will temporarily or permanently replace the former CMLL Mistico as Sin Cara, I'm doing one about similar shenanigans with masks: Dos Hombres to hide Douglas's injury in WCW, AAA fakes, Mistico's double booking with his brother's help, etc.
Victator Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 With the recent string of releases it seems like it is time to finally put the Divas on hiatus. The matches are rarely good, they don't sell merchandise and ratings go down during their segments. Is there a good reason to keep them around?

flyonthewall2983 Posted August 6, 2011 Report Posted August 6, 2011 It ensures that coveted demographic of old, scary middle-aged white male stalkers.
Bix Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Digging around Bleacher Report more this is probably the easiest to read listing of my posts: http://bleacherreport.com/users/515890-dav...nspan/archives/

But, if/when they decide to scrap NXT, turning that show into a Diva's only show wouldn't be the worst idea in the world.

Blehschmidt Posted August 7, 2011 Report Posted August 7, 2011 Since everyone here really seems to know their shit, maybe you can help me out. Does anyone know where Obariyon and Kodama, Chikara's Batiri came from? I don't think they are Chikara students, but I can't seem to get any hints about their identity anywhere I've looked. Thanks.
Blehschmidt Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Thank You. and as for thinking they weren't students, it was just something I had heard repeated elsewhere and believed.
sek69 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 So I don't understand something here. TNA and AAA have a deal. From what I can tell, they mention TNA on AAA TV. However TNA doesn't mention AAA at all to the point of having a false plate made to cover the AAA world title when Jarrett has it on TNA TV to cover the AAA logo on the front. What was the point of making a deal if they can't name the promotion or show a TNA guy going to another promotion and winning their title? It's like they don't want to be seen as a real promotion instead of a small time indy fed that gets to have its shows at Universal Studios.
sek69 Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Watching the Ricky Steamboat HOF matches on demand, and one is a tag team match where he teamed with Sting. It struck me that after 15+ years of the dark haired version in some form or fashion, Surfer Sting now looks completely alien to me. It's like a completely different person.
rovert Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 Listening to Chavo's appearance on Lagana's podcast nothing profound here it is just really such a shame Eddy was taken so long ago at this stage.
Ronnie Posted August 8, 2011 Report Posted August 8, 2011 So, did Big Dave have a prescription? This is some mega mass-loss: http://yfrog.com/kglkwp

It's the reason they can't tour the US. I think it's the Viva La Lucha guys that own it.
Marty Posted August 9, 2011 Report Posted August 9, 2011 So one of the latest WWE DVD projects is a Best Of King Of The Ring, hosted by Booker T. This leads to an obvious question: Does pre-PPV tournament (85-89, 91) footage exist? I looked at Graham's site and there doesn't seem to indicate any televised footage of it, or any Coliseum tapes or somesuch using it, so I'm thinking no, but would anyone else know if footage does exist?
