I was hoping for the Backlund/Muraco 1981 Texas Death myself--never seen that one before.

That match is widely available. It's the 60 minute draw on the card before that's never been released.

Pretty disappointing set list.

The History of the WWE at MSG dvd match list is out. To say it is disappointing is an understatement...especially when they only needed one true "rarity" to make it a must-see set for someone like myself.

I know Backlund/Race was available on their website before, but it's still nice to have that match in DVD quality. That's probably the only remotely worthwhile thing about the set.

So according to TMZ, George Clooney and Stacy Keibler are donezo. What are the chances she hops back on the WWE gravy train?

Unlikely to be back on the gravy train. She may make an appearance like she did with Tough Enough, but as a regular is doubtful. Even a cameo is questionable because she knows that Creative, Vince, Trip and Steph couldn't help but have a load of Clooney barbs tossed at her during the appearance. Doubt she wants that.

I was wondering what matches have been released the most times on DVD on various compilations..

Leaders seemed to be:

Foley/HBK (Mindgames)

* Mick Foley: Hard Knocks & Cheap Pops (DVD)

* Mick Foley: Greatest Hits & Misses (DVD)

* Shawn Michaels: From the Vault (DVD)

* The History of the WWE Heavyweight Championship (DVD)

* The Best of In Your House (DVD)

Foley/Taker (KOTR98)

* Mick Foley: Greatest Hits & Misses (DVD)

* Tombstone: The History of the Undertaker (DVD)

* Hell in a Cell (DVD)

* The Best of King of the Ring (DVD)

* For All Mankind: The Life and Career of Mick Foley (DVD)

Summerslam 2000: WWF Tag Team Champions Edge & Christian defeated the Dudley Boyz and Matt & Jeff Hardy in a TLC match at 14:49

This was on FIVE DVDs:

* The Hardy Boyz: Leap of Faith (DVD)

* The Ladder Match (DVD)

* Most Memorable Matches of 2000 (DVD)

* Allied Powers (DVD)

* The Atittude Era (DVD)

Runner-ups with at least 4 DVD releases: Hogan/Andre (WM3), Davey/Bret (SS92), Warrior/Hogan (WM6), Hogan/Rock (WMX8), Edge/Orton (Vengeance 04), E&C/Hardyz/Dudleyz (WM2000)

What did I miss? Any other 5+ DVD releases (besides being on the original event DVD release...)

Just to wrap up the line of thought I was on before about what a-list celebs could bring for photo ops, Lionel Messi is in the news this week for a mix up with a promotion at an exhibition game (basically he said the game promoter screwed people) where they were charging $2500 a pop to meet Messi after the game.

Well somebody should hurry up and upload the TDM to YouTube or Dailymotion then. ;)

As far as the broadway between Bob and Don goes, it was on one of the non-televised MSG shows. I've asked this before, but have any matches from non-televised MSG shows ever turned up in trading circles or on WWE dvds? Was the match even filmed? While on the subject, John or anybody, what's the story with Bob/Koloff 4/25/83? Monsoon and Patterson provided commentary for the match, and a brief clip of the ending was shown on I believe WWE.com, but I've never known the match to be available in full. Other matches from the card are out there.

How Much Did Stacy Keibler Make By Dating George Clooney?

As I was saying, she doesn't need to go back to the WWE, even for a cameo, unless she thinks it's a positive on her other opportunities. Not just financially, but also with her next potential partner.

I had low expectations on this one as I knew they would go heavy on PPV matches already released. This will be a pass for me. As mentioned in other posts they have been putting a lot of duplicates on their DVD/Blu Ray releases. War Games Blu Ray was pretty good though as had enough stuff that hasn't been released before. It's too bad the Best of Raw set sold poorly as I was looking forward to them covering 95/96.

I honestly think that DVDVR, while having some ebbing and flowing can be pretty worthwhile. It's sort of everything to everyone in a way this board isn't and a real community for good or ill. That it survived the withdrawing into life and other ventures of the Playas as active posters is fairly impressive.

That said, PWO has incredible value in places that it doesn't.

I agree that DVDVR is a great board that has some positives this place simply doesn't, and I don't want it to go away. I like this board being what it is, and DVDVR being what it is. Bihari hates me for reasons I don't understand at all and thinks that I created this board as the anti-DVDVR when nothing could be further from the truth.

PWO is the best wrestling forum, for the sheer hardcore crowd it attracts. At least for me it is because I'll always be into "what's good" more than "what's new" so the historical slant here fits well. It's like a librarian convention of wrestling historians. People here know their shit to the point that I feel pretty useless around here being out of the loop for a few years and being very rusty, despite the fact I've probably seen more wrestling than 99.995% of the human population.

DVDVR sub-boards are great, and (given the size of the place) surprisingly well behaved by internet standards. That's probably why it has thrived while so many others on all subjects have not, and has managed to maintain a loyal community. Yes there are some goofy characters (one or two that should have been nuked ages ago) but it's nowhere even close to as nasty a place as most big boards have become. I wouldn't have even bothered stepping in to run the music polls over there (which were quite small time, but a good education) if it wasn't for the fact I just happen to like most of the people, which made it worth biting the bullet and stepping in to save the thing in the first place.

I don't think message boards have died so much as you've had a lot of splintering into small groups on subjects, like this one. Partially because it makes crowd control a lot easier probably. It does make finding new boards a pain on a lot of subjects, but I still feel like there's a ton of them out there.

I will always have a soft spot for DVDVR but it's been overrun by guys doing gimmick/schticky posts, open trolls and complete jackasses for a long time now. That's not to say it has no value, because I don't believe that or I would have quit posting there altogether. But I don't particularly miss it when it's down either. It does scare the holy hell out of me to think that all the 80's stuff is gone though and I think it is absolutely imperative that the 80's project be moved to this board at this point.

ProWrestlingOnly is far better than DVDVR in my opinion. Better, uncluttered, more concise presentation for a start. Some incredibly knowledgeable people are here, and some brilliant research is written and talked about. There is a varied crowd. There is more openness to opinions that clash often irrevocably. There is generally a very good atmosphere.

This board is fascinating just to read, even when you have nothing worthwhile to contribute yourself. The sheer depth of knowledge and viewed wrestling on here can be quite intimidating to a casual fan, but nobody is made to feel unwelcome.

Easily the best wrestling board since Smarkschoice, albeit completely different in tone to that. That had the best sub-forums, especially for the music sections. Chit Chat was always funny as well. These days I tend to go on different forums for different things - I have no desire to talk about film or music on a wrestling board.

I love DVDVR and I don't think it's been "dying" by any means, except for crashing way too frequently. I AM pretty unsettled by the idea of losing all the old posts, especially the 80s project forum.

Loss, is there any chance at all of "porting" the 80s Project stuff over to here? Has anyone got an archive of it?

I honestly am a PWO guy not a DVDR guy, that much is obvious, but the thought of losing all the posts in the 80s project sickens me. There must be a way of retrieving that stuff before it is too late. Hell, I'd cut and paste each and every thread into notepad if it meant keeping a record of it.

Also, and more selfishly, how will I complete my AWA rankings now?
