rovert Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Is this RF's attempt at the documentary Heavy Metal Parking Lot or is he just exploiting poor unfortunates? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10201701725769579 Ok silly question.
flyonthewall2983 Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 He should have done something like this in the 90's with ECW fans. I would have loved to seen that. This, not so much.

I made it about 10 seconds into that video. Why did he make that guy say his last name? Enough out of you, RF. I agree with fly. 1998, this would have been pretty interesting.
Kronos Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Watching Sting/Muta at Bash '89. I always thought it was weird how the TV Title is defended on PPV. Clash I could understand, as well as one of the myriad weekly programs NWA/WCW has in those days. But it's a "TV Title". It should be on TV.
goc Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 You still watched the PPVs on your TV didn't you?
Loss Posted March 12, 2014 Author Report Posted March 12, 2014 The TV title was always weird like that. It was established to draw television ratings by putting marquee matches on television. But titles would often change hand on house shows. Heck, the single night tournament after Dusty had to vacate was held on a house show.
Moonsault Marvin Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 I always thought it was weird that it was called the World TV Title, but it was lower in prestige than the US title.
Kronos Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 You still watched the PPVs on your TV didn't you? Maybe in this we should have called it the World Computer Title, since that's how I watched this match. . .
Kronos Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 titles would often change hand on house shows. Can you imagine that happening in today's WWE? Maybe on TNA in front of 50 people.
Tim Evans Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Did the tag titles change either last year or 2012 on a house show? I know TNA changed the tag titles to the Wolves last month at a house show.
Kronos Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Just saw Drew Macintyre talking-head-ing on the "top finishers" countdown. What happened to that guy? I'm still catching up, but I have seen absolutely no mention of him on PWO, DVDVR, or in the recent footage I have seen.
Kronos Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 He is a member of 3MB. Ah, so I have simply missed him. I don't count myself as a big fan or anything. Just curious.
Kil Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Did the tag titles change either last year or 2012 on a house show? I know TNA changed the tag titles to the Wolves last month at a house show. Epico and Primo won the tag titles from Kofi and Evan Bourne on a house show in Jan. 2012.
(BP) Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Watched the Wrestlemania 14 rewind, and they make a lot of Michaels's well known issues at the time. If he flakes on them again, who do they put opposite Austin for the presumably vacant WWF title in the main event? Does it hurt Austin at all going forward to beat an upper mid career like Rock or Helmsley, or is he so over it doesn't matter?
Kronos Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Wait, Kerry's WWF finisher was a spinning...bitchslap? That's what he just used to beat some jobber on the Oct 91 MSG show.
Johnny Sorrow Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Wait, Kerry's WWF finisher was a spinning...bitchslap? That's what he just used to beat some jobber on the Oct 91 MSG show. It's the discus punch. It just didn't look great often by that time.

I question whether they needed a "WrestleMania moment" to solidify his position at all, really.

EricR Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Did the tag titles change either last year or 2012 on a house show? I know TNA changed the tag titles to the Wolves last month at a house show. Epico and Primo won the tag titles from Kofi and Evan Bourne on a house show in Jan. 2012. I was actually there live for this and recorded it. I don't think I ever posted it online though... In a great moment of being a know it all that knows absolutely nothing, my friend Sean asked at the beginning of the match who I thought would win and CLEARLY it was going to be Air Bourne since how often do title changes happen at a house show, dummy?
Marty Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Man, 10 years flies by, doesn't it? (At least someone else must be thinking the same thing.)

Considering the internet butt hurt concerning Bryan and Punk allegedly leaving partly due to getting dropped from the Main Event spot, I'd say getting "the WrestleMania moment" was, and still is, a big deal when it comes to the careers of wrestling characters.
Kronos Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 What a dick move by Sonnen -- I don't care if he is BFFs with Punk. Call me maybe: Chael Sonnen outs Stephanie McMahon's cell number during an interview
DR Ackermann Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Has anyone watched all of the Inoki vs Saito Island Death Match from 1987? If so, how was it?
goodhelmet Posted March 14, 2014 Report Posted March 14, 2014 Loooonnnngggg. I think we put a clip of it on the New Japan project.
