The Thread Killer
Late to the party on this point, but I want to agree that Silas Young is all kinds of awesome. His injury couldn't have come at a worse time, since Steen gave him the rub on the way out. I am hoping ROH plans to push him to the moon when he returns. ProWrestling.net is reporting that WWE has signed Jimmy Jacobs to work in a behind the scenes capacity in NXT "soon", and that Joe will actually be going to WWE sooner rather than later. I would guess most ROH fans would view this as bad news, although Jimmy Jacobs being a loss is debatable. I never got his appeal, honestly. I don't think anybody expected Joe to stick around long term, but if this is to be believed, he'll be heading to WWE as early as the end of the month. bradhindsight
I thought the most recent TV was really good also. The Addiction in particular really exceeded my expectations. Best I've seen them look in a while. I think Taven's high-flying offense still works as a smarmy heel because he gets no positive reaction from the crowd. They've positioned the Swanton as a heel move even! On the flipside, Jay Lethal is a borderline babyface with his offense and crowd reactions. shoe
I agree on Taven. He's cocky dick so the dives fit his character for me. Like see what I can do.
bradhindsight
"I've bled you before, this time I'll break you" - great line by Joe in his promo, calling back to 2004 in the cage.

shoe
Here are my thoughts from The ROH 3/13/15 show from Milwaukee. Strong vs Daivari This was ok. Just a little back and forth match. They had one big hiccup. I enjoyed Daivari's Persian dancing. His strikes need work. Strong was good, but I feel he's not a wrestler that can carry a wrestler to a 3* star match, but can carry someone to a decent match. 2 * Silas Young vs. Will Ferrera Again this match didn't do anything for me. 1 1/2* Mark Briscoe vs Beer City Bruiser This was a solid bout. It went a little long. I like BCB and he easily could be a real fun underneath guy. He has some good punches and uses his weight well in this bout. I liked the post match Beer of Honor. 2 1/4* Roppongi Vice vs Whtmer/Jacobs This is a real mixed bag for me. i really didn't like the start of this. I feel Romero needs to eliminate some of his schtick spots to seperate this team from his team with Koslov. I didn't like the forearm and chop exchanges. Now once Barretta went FIP the match improved 10 fold. Barretta palyed FIP very well. The hot tag to Romero could have been executed better. Romero running wild was good though. He gets cut off and they go back and forth with hot moves and dives. leading to RPG Vice's new finisher. Jacobs looked real good in this match. 2 3/4* Taven vs Cheeseburger I loved Taven's pre match promo. An extended squash that the crowd really made fun. Michael Elgin vs. Josh Alexander This was a good hard hitting match. Both guys had a battle. At times Alexander's strikes weren't up to snuff. I loved Alexander's bleeding from the mouth. Just straight up smash mouth wrestling. 2 3/4* Samoa Joe vs ACH I thought this was an excellent match. We had ACH take it to Joe early and all it would take would be a kick or a strike to stop the momentum. ACH with leg kicks, again Joe stops him dead in his track. ACH gets a little run on top for a bit and does some real fun leg work. Eventually that didn't go anywhere and Joe really didn't put it over. That's really my only complaint of the match. Joe on top for a bit and really works over ACH. Comeback time and ACH is now going to his strengths. We get some nice nearfalls. Joe in control and finishes ACH off. This was a well worked established star versus the young up and comer story. 4 * reDragon vs Jay Briscoe/Jay Lethal reDragon is my favorite tag team right now. This is interesting. Lethal and Briscoe are doing the partners that don't get along gimmick. We get a fun tag. reDragon really have great psychology. I don't want to spoil the finish, but loved how the Briscoe/Lethal dynamic played into it. 3 1/4* Overall a solid house show. ACH/Samoa Joe really saved it. I'm curious how the Chicago show compares. I thought the main event was a fun dynamic. If it's true about the Briscoes leaving I can see ROH turning to Lethal as champ. As a character Lethal is tremendous. He needs to change his style up to better fit the style of World Champion. I have the same issues about him as TV champ. This could be a fun step 1 in a feud. bradhindsight
I'm honestly surprised both of them could pass the WWE physical. I'm happy for them but figured concussions, etc would hold them back.
bradhindsight
I finished up the Atlanta show last weekend. Really can't put over enough the wrestling you get for $11 there. Really fun show. I'm in the AJ/Fish boat over AJ/ACH. Even the Whitmer/Page bullying tag match to open was great. Heckuva a card. Definitely seek it out. I will note, I'm a little more down on Caprice doing commentary during the AJ match than Shoe. It was certainly different as KK tends to sit out (by design) and let the action speak for itself. Thought CC was a bit much but didn't take away any enjoyment from the match.

shoe
The Chicago card was another real strong show. One thing I've noticed the last few months is that the quality of wrestling on the ppv's isn't that much better than a lot of the tv and VOD shows. They'll really need to do something to make the ppv's must see. Jay Diesel vs. Will Ferrera An okay match. I want to see Ferrera in a tag team. He seems to have potential as a worker. 2 1/4* ACH vs. Jimmy Jacobs I liked this match a lot. Both guys brought it and had a real good match. One little slip up by Jacobs outside, but this was really compelling. They do a good job at showcasing ACH, and keeping him in the mix. 3 1/2* Silas Young vs Roderick Strong vs Matt Taven vs Mark Briscoe This was just an all action match. Just loaded with hot moves. A little complaint that keeps it from going over the top was the spamming of finishers. Still it was a 4 way so I can live with it easier than a one on one match. The finish with Silas getting his legs up on a Briscoe froggy elbow drop was anticlimatic with all the big moves here. Still I loved this match. 3 3/4* Jay Lethal vs Cliff Compton This was a street fight. Lethal shows up in some nice duds. He ends up in his skivvies by the end of the match. I liked this, but it should have been shorter since we got a lot of similar brawling and weapons. The interference made sense since it was no DQ. Lethal's elbow through a table was a pretty awesome spot. 3 * Beer City Bruiser vs Cheeseburger These guys are a great distraction from all the workrate in the promotion. I'm not a fan of comedy in my title matches, but they work perfect here. Both have good characters and get over with the crowd. Jay Briscoe vs. Silas Young My friend Johnny Sorrow loved this match. It didn't do anything for me. I'll give it a relook at a later date. I do like Young as a character, just not into his work. 2* reDragon vs Roponggi Vice I'm combining both segments here. Well this was great. It had comedy, southern tag structure, hot moves, great drama, and storytelling. It starts out slow and we get some comedy spots. Both teams do the old MX/Cornette hugging spot to 2 different reactions. We got the traditional faggot chant(which I'm not endorsing) when the heels reDragon did it. When Roppongi Vice the faces did it the fans chanted best friends which was pretty funny. It transitions to the meat of the match and again Barretta makes a real convincing FIP. Barretta and Romero compliment each other well. They also have a pretty killer finish. The proving ground for the title was just a pretty hot run. 4* Samoa Joe vs Michael Elgin This was a real hard hitting match. I loved Joe having Elgin in a wristlock and delivering headbutts. That was nasty. The rear naked choke suplex was just nasty. 3 1/2*

Zoo Enthusiast
I can't believe he is in ROH now. Saw him a couple years ago on a charity show for a fire department in a town of a couple hundred people in WI. He normally was in a tag team called the Beer City Bruisers, and went by Matt Winchester. Fun act. Good for him.
BillThompson
You need to pay more attention to me on Twitter Bill, because I love BCB. To clarify, I have no opinion on the guy, I've never seen him wrestle. But, most indie/RoH fans I know have painted the guy as the worst thing to happen to RoH in a long time. stomperspc
I think Beer City Bruiser is fine and stands out physically amongst the current ROH wrestler which in theory should benefit his ability to get over in ROH. However, I have read a lot of negative comments on him. I don’t know for certain, but my impression is a lot of them are from your core ROH fans who don’t see a guy with his look as fitting into the ROH mold. Wrestling wise, he is fine. He bumps well for a big guy, moves well for a big guy, and has enough flashy offense to get over. I don’t think he’s great in the ring by any stretch, but he is definitely good enough and more importantly unique enough to have some value to ROH. Whether they take advantage of that and the fans ultimately accept him is another story. He seems like a good candidate for a tag team. It is too bad they have already put Hanson with Ray Rowe because at least from a physical presentation standpoint, Hanson and The Bruiser would make a good tag team.
