Loss
YOU GOTTA LOVE THE NEW WWF ACTION FIGURES. YOU GOTTA LOVE THE NEW WWF RING.
PeteF3
Not that it stopped me from buying them, but I was pissed when the LJN rubber bludgeon line got discontinued in favor of these.
Bix
These came out closer to the Summer, didn't they?
Loss
No clue. We got them off of Coliseum Video.
PeteF3
Summer sounds right. I seem to remember these ads being close to the end of Ventura's tenure with the company.
Kevin Ridge
Had none of these figures but always wanted them growing up but my toy buying was more geared to G.I. Joe. The ring looks pretty good.
soup23
This commercial is one of my first wrestling memories ever so that holds a special place in my heart and pausing the video confirmed that I owned all the figures shown as well as the ring. Still saddened that one of the arms on my Andre figure fell off.
goodhelmet
I put this on next to the Savage - Piper match because they both were on the Wrestlefest commercial tape.
Cox
Ventura had no mustache so I think the original airdate was closer to the summertime, but I guess that's largely irrelevant. I'm guessing they had to work hard to find the one moment in an Andre/Warrior match where one of them does something that looks vaguely painful for this commercial. CaptCabana
I had that ring! Some kid asked to borrow it from me and then he moved away like a week later. Never saw it again. That was a sad day for the Captain.
Loss
I get why it came with a championship belt, but why a flag? Wrestling rings don't have flags.
goodhelmet
Were they doing flag matches back then?

FLIK
I had (may still have) that ring. In my action figure league at some point I made Hacksaw Jim Duggan a heel and had him beat the shit out of ppl with that flag. I also pretended the Berserker was his brother and fantasy booked them like Kevin & Evad Sullivan only more evil. The ring itself was kinda crap actually in hindsight or maybe I just abused mine The freakin post always used to break so i'd have to jam a pencil or stick in the hole to keep the two parts together and the ropes would snap so I had to re-tie them a bunch. JerryvonKramer
Anyone notice how Ventura had all the heels on offence during this? Very subtle but a nice little touch of continuity there.
Johnny Sorrow
You think Jake turned on the kid actors to some blow?
Laney
A lot of nostalgia in this one. I remember seeing these commercials on the tapes I rented and I had a few of these figures. Also, the ring coming with a flag was kind of weird.

Still saddened that one of the arms on my Andre figure fell off. Awesome. I love toy commercials from back around this time. I'm out of the loop but can't imagine they are as amped up now as they were in 1990.
RCS1988
I enjoyed the hasbro figures. Too bad they didn't have a steel cage accessory like the LJN set.
BrickHithouse
I enjoyed the hasbro figures. Too bad they didn't have a steel cage accessory like the LJN set. It was unfortunate that they didn't have a cage accessory for the WWF ring, but the WCW galoob ring came with a red cage. I painted that sumbitch blue and used it with the Hasbro ring! I also bought two WWF rings and used the LJN cage accessory to stage War Games matches. (I didn't get out much as a kid....)
Kevin Ridge
Did anyone collect those WWF thumb wrestlers? Had a bunch of those such as Hogan, Iron Sheik, Hillbilly Jim and Junkyard Dog. I managed to not get my thumb dislocated in competitive battle. I wasn't so lucky when playing Dodgeball.
garretta
These were charming, especially because of Jesse, but overall I liked the commercials Vince voiced in the eighties a little better, particularly the one where the Iron Sheik shows up on the school steps and says, "Okay kids, back to class". Like they'd actually listen to a no-good lousy stinkin' Iranian, right?
flyonthewall2983
Ventura had no mustache so I think the original airdate was closer to the summertime, but I guess that's largely irrelevant. He'd gotten rid of the stache sometime in '89 actually.
GSR
'WWF figures, so close to the real thing, it's like being in the ring!' Jesse Ventura advertises WWF toy figures and a WWF toy ring with a little help from Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Brutus Beefcake, Smash and Jake Roberts.
