Had none of these figures but always wanted them growing up but my toy buying was more geared to G.I. Joe. The ring looks pretty good.

This commercial is one of my first wrestling memories ever so that holds a special place in my heart and pausing the video confirmed that I owned all the figures shown as well as the ring. Still saddened that one of the arms on my Andre figure fell off.

Ventura had no mustache so I think the original airdate was closer to the summertime, but I guess that's largely irrelevant.

 

I'm guessing they had to work hard to find the one moment in an Andre/Warrior match where one of them does something that looks vaguely painful for this commercial.

I had that ring! Some kid asked to borrow it from me and then he moved away like a week later. Never saw it again.

 

That was a sad day for the Captain.

I get why it came with a championship belt, but why a flag? Wrestling rings don't have flags.

I had (may still have) that ring. In my action figure league at some point I made Hacksaw Jim Duggan a heel and had him beat the shit out of ppl with that flag. I also pretended the Berserker was his brother and fantasy booked them like Kevin & Evad Sullivan only more evil.

The freakin post always used to break so i'd have to jam a pencil or stick in the hole to keep the two parts together and the ropes would snap so I had to re-tie them a bunch.

A lot of nostalgia in this one. I remember seeing these commercials on the tapes I rented and I had a few of these figures. Also, the ring coming with a flag was kind of weird.

Awesome. I love toy commercials from back around this time. I'm out of the loop but can't imagine they are as amped up now as they were in 1990.

It was unfortunate that they didn't have a cage accessory for the WWF ring, but the WCW galoob ring came with a red cage. I painted that sumbitch blue and used it with the Hasbro ring!

 

I also bought two WWF rings and used the LJN cage accessory to stage War Games matches.

Did anyone collect those WWF thumb wrestlers? Had a bunch of those such as Hogan, Iron Sheik, Hillbilly Jim and Junkyard Dog. I managed to not get my thumb dislocated in competitive battle. I wasn't so lucky when playing Dodgeball.

These were charming, especially because of Jesse, but overall I liked the commercials Vince voiced in the eighties a little better, particularly the one where the Iron Sheik shows up on the school steps and says, "Okay kids, back to class". Like they'd actually listen to a no-good lousy stinkin' Iranian, right?
