Wanted to bring this up since it's kinda a running on Bryan & Vinny. What do you think of WWE referring to the Rhodes Brothers tag team as "Gold & Stardust"? Like Goldust, part of WWE off-and-on for almost 20 years, apparently has the first name of "Gold" and the last name of "Dust" or "Ust". Only thing I can understand about it is that it sounds a bit smoother during ring intros.

I wish they'd called the team "Ashes to Ashes" and they'd made that part of their promos.

You all do realize that HHH the Executive you see on TV is just a character he's playing right?

Obviously, which is why I'm only referring to interviews he's given when not in character. However, I think it's pretty clear that like a lot of performers the character of Triple H is an extension of Paul Levesque the person.

I find the excitement over Sting extremely strange and have felt that way throughout the endless saga over whether he'd sign. He was never worth a shit as talker, and he can't really wrestle at 55. What's the hook?

The same as always. Nostalgia. But yeah. Sting was last relevant in… 1997 ? He'll be 56 at Mania. Retromania running wild.

I think, like many things WWE does, the implication that their last names are "Dust" is supposed to be funny and it's bizarre how uptight Bryan gets over it. I felt the same about the announcers pretending El Torito was a real bull, though I think it was mostly Dave that took issue with that one. Some people just don't get jokes I guess.

Yeah, I guess he's just not a guy I'm nostalgic for at all.

I actually don't think it' necessarily Sting nostalgia so much as WCW nostalgia. He's basically the only guy they could bring in, other than Tony Schiavone that would make things, for a moment, feel like WCW. There's so much ECW pandering that the network does and even when they say anything about WCW, it's all Monday Night Wars era. Sting's something from the old pre-Hogan WCW, even if his current look isn't.

Probably the appeal of being the one guy never to have been with the E all this time. I don't give a whoop about that, but I guess some do.

I hope that they can get Bryan somehow involved in the authority goodbye since this all started as his angle. It would be a fitting end and they could even say how he wanted to update his fans on his progress ala Reigns, but the authority wouldn't give him the tv time.

I was hoping he'd take out HHH with the knee last night. The place would have gone totally apeshit. I know he's still got the arm thing going on but surely he can still bump and do the knee.

WCW had more guys on their roster to waste but I'm starting to feel like modern WWE is competing with them in the "most talented roster that's being completely wasted" department. How do they have so much TV time and still feel like NOTHING happens with anyone outside of MAYBE 8-10 people at a time.
