This is what the WWE doesn't understand and will probably never understand. It isn't that they only wanted Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. It is that they wanted someone NEW. The fact that the crowd was rooting for Roman Reigns at the end proves it. Batista is seen mostly as a retread like Orton and Cena

I think the initial pop for Sheamus suggests they'd even be down for watching him on a regular basis. WWE continuing with their effort to convince us that older is better and now the crowd has guys that they want to get behind and want to see in the main, they've closed their eyes and continued on regardless.

I actually enjoyed the Rumble but it was crying out for Bryan or even Taker at 30. Reigns looked awesome and he's almost at the point now where had he eliminated Batista to win, you'd actually buy it. I have no desire to see anything coming out of this show bar Lesnar/Taker.

Royal Rumble Match -

Well, that was embarrassing.

Now that is a bit excessive. The match itself was fine. A lot better than the Royal Rumble where Cena eliminated Ryback or when Alberto Del Rio won.

It really isn't.

Everyone in my house was calling the match boring and uninteresting long before the no-Bryan reveal.

To be clear, I was referencing the last ten minutes. I enjoyed the Rumble a lot until then. The WWE doesn't care what that reaction was tonight but if was Vince or HHH I'd be embarrassed.

It feels like when WWF bought WCW in 2001, it purchased all their ability to make inane booking decisions but without any of the zaniness that made WCW charming. It is amazing that WWE has gotten pretty much got nothing right since 2001. It is just the way people have been talking about WWE for so long reminds me how people used to talk about WCW.

I am already dreading the Roman Reigns' face promos where he tries to be funny. Unless, Reigns has some hidden talents on the mic it is going to be Sheamus (huge Sheamus in-ring mark) ugly on the mic. This comes from a guy who was really looking forward to Reigns' face turn and then realized how they could easily fuck this up.

One of the non-DB faces getting shit on for not being DB should just beg for the opening to just go out there and go off on the DB fans for being entitled whiners. It'd be nice and cathartic for the people writing that rant. Throw in some lines about "ruining my moment", "you are supposed to cheer for me, not some bearded gnome", and then 'wonder' why you just created an actual heel and made something out of the latest encounter with East Coast/Euro/Indy Douchebag Show-ruiner types.

In short... turn Batista tomorrow night and figure out some way to take the belt off Orton in the meantime.

WWE seems to think it's just a very loud, vocal minority. Yeah, that was something else.

Meltzer explained in his podcast that after talking to people in the company, they know he's over as fuck with everybody but the people who cheer for him don't spend money on him compared to other top stars.

How in the world Vince and company think the best course of action is not hearing the crowd instead of doing everything in their power to translate those chants and cheers to a bunch of money, I will never understand. It's beyond moronic.

They don't know how to do it anymore.
