I don't know if anybody has noticed, but a bunch of playlists have been removed, including the Daniel Bryan one that had some Velocity and NXT stuff that otherwise isn't on the Network, and a fun dark match from 2001 with Danielson & Shooter Schulz vs. Brian Kendrick & Lance Cade. Sucks that they would do that, but it might be a word of warning, early as it is, that the Last Battle of Atlanta may not be up there forever.

Well, that fucking sucks. The 2001 dark match was awesome for what it was.

Well, I think we all saw it, some watched it more than once, and there it all was after everyone interested saw it. Getting no more views. Something tells me that the LBOA is gonna have more staying power than a Daniel Bryan dark match. And even if it doesn't, it's out there now. It'll be readily available. Even if weirdos feel the need to dissect it with a skewed, annoying , and downright awful eye. That should be poked out.

Well, yeah, I watched the Bryan dark match too, but it makes zero sense for them to pull collections or other archival content from the Network.

I haven't watched LBOA yet, so I'm avoiding the thread for it until I do.

Actually, I turned it on for a second just to see it for myself, long enough to view the disclaimer about the lack of commentary.

I think it should have a forced Byron Saxton-Jerry Lawler commentary track. :D :P

FWIW, some of the more recent Beyond The Ring entries have been the match anthology ones. Perhaps they will find its way on a Bryan release (I think they were on Bryan's DVDs).

Either way, that's something that I wish on demand streaming services would provide. The DVD extras, whether its deleted/bonus scenes, exclusive docs or commentary tracks. It'd be nice if all were part of the package you'd get for the show or movie you are watching.

I believe that dark match is on the sneak preview of the Bryan DVD on the network.

WWE.com has an article up about the LBOA, with a bit about the discovery of it:

In 2016, a group of reels from the WCW library, simply labeled “Omni Live Events” were digitally transferred and logged. During the process, Eric Stefanowicz, Producer and Researcher/Historian for WWE’s Legacy Content team, discovered what many have referred to as the holy grail of wrestling video: The Last Battle of Atlanta. The video was in pristine condition. No restoration was required before it was uploaded to WWE Network, fulfilling the dreams of a generation of fans.

The "no restoration" bit was interesting, I wonder how much of their stuff needs a lot of work besides a straight digitization and changing music? Anyway, I hope the buzz this has gotten convinces them to put more rare stuff like this up, even if it's temporary.

I've just cancelled my subscription for the network (not out of protest or anything, I'm just in a position where I need to save some money) and it gives you reasons to click as to why you're cancelling. That's normal enough but when you click each one, it offers a reason for you to stay. So, one of them is "I can't find anything I like" to which it says something like "Do you know you can use our Collections feature?" etc which is fair enough but under "I don't enjoy the programming" (or similar), it says "WWE Network has drama, reality, comedy and family shows. Something for everyone! and under "I don't have the money" it says "Did you know: One year of WWE Network costs less than one month of cable?!" Like, yeah, I know all of those things but sorry that 'Holy Foley' isn't quite as engrossing as 'The Americans'

Not a big deal and I understand why it's there (to try and valiantly tempt people back in, I guess) but Vince's "Why you watching Richard Pryor, we've got Santino!" line to Freddie Prinze Jr came to mind and made me laugh. Netflix? Stranger Things? Pah, there's some new episodes of Swerved to binge watch!

When news of the Benoit movie broke yesterday, I thought about what might happen if WWE tries to block it from happening. Then I thought it would be a little funny if they countered it with just going ahead and doing a documentary about the whole thing, like their version of The Jinx or Making A Murderer.

Episode 1 of ECW TV is up, and Sandman in the original surfer boy gimmick will never not be funny.

If this is going right back to 93/4, I might be tempted to watch. I've never watched that stuff and early ECW kinda fascinates me.

The idea of Sal Bellomo still having a job in wrestling, for example.

I thought the same thing, I saw the name and thought "that can't be the same guy as the WWF jobber, could it?" and sure as shit it was.
