Steenalized
Zero problems streaming on my lap top, connected to the TV with an HDMI cable.
Tim Evans
I had a lot of problems with the video repeating itself throughout the show. It was really bad during HHH/Bryan and the main event. However, this only lasted a couple second and it was easy to fast forward to real time. Other than that, it was great. This was through the PS3 I should add. flyonthewall2983
Watched through my brother's PS4, btw.
MojoJsyn
On my Roku the HoF and Mania worked flawlessly.
kjh
Today's WWE press release announced 667,287 subscribers, much lower than many predicted and on the low end of respectable.
goc
I don't see that as a bad number considering it's only been out 1 month. Especially since I assume a lot of people were skeptical about buying it for WrestleMania thinking the stream would fail and now they are going to have a great word of mouth about how good the quality was. goodhelmet
Just barely escaped the number of the beast.
goc
That number also means that I would imagine they had at least 500,000 people watching WrestleMania on the Network last night and the stream held up great, so that's a big positive for them. The number also equals out to $40,037,220 in revenue over a 6 month period.
WingedEagle
I watched on the PS3 and the only issues I had all night were on the preshow. The quality was spectacular and once things got rolling I quickly forgot to keep worrying about whether I'd need to load up another device or miss something. Great experience. Loss
Kind of a disappointing number based on what I was expecting but maybe now the people who paid the same price for one event that they could have paid for six events will feel like the fools they are and realize they should have subscribed. Al
Flawless on my end. WWE's kindle app is much better than MLB's app, FWIW.
C.S.
I watched on the Roku. Had some repeats and video quality issues during the Bryan/H match but it was flawless otherwise.
goc
I think the pessimism and negative reaction to the numbers I'm seeing around the net is just needless doom and gloom They only launched 42 days ago. They only had 1 event to sell, even if it was WrestleMania, and they had to sell that when their ability to deliver a quality stream was very much in question. All they have to do is keep the momentum they built at WrestleMania, put together a card people want to see at Extreme Rules and they could easily convert more of the 4 million people who watch Raw into Network subscribers. KrisZ
They wanted 1 million subs before the end of the year....so they are very close to it and with last night being a success it is easing more people's minds on it. I think they will hit their mark and from their statement I think they are pleased with the number.
Loss
It's lower than I expected it to be, but I really do think the issue is the demographics of the WWE audience, either in not having access to the technology, not understanding it or not trusting it. It's kind of mind boggling to me that I still read people ON THE INTERNET complain about how they don't want to watch the Network on their computers or on their phone and they wish WWE would just work something out with the cable companies. David
I don't think it's that strange. I can only speak for myself, but I would rather watch a program on cable than one on the Internet (even though I can watch streaming video on my TV). goc
That's my point. You can still watch the Network on your TV without it coming through your cable or satellite company. I guess if you're stuck in an area without a way to get good internet connection it could be a problem. But there's no way the Network through cable would be as cheap with as much content, and definitely not include the PPVs.
KrisZ
Oh there are lots of people tweeting today about how their friends were asking them how could they find the Network on their TV.
shoe
The number is solid, I think I was expecting in the 725,000 range. A million by years end isn't out of the question.
KrisZ
I also think that they will now step up the advertising on this after the success of Mania which was the benchmark to see how they could hold up under immense traffic. You don't want to advertise something too heavy if you are uncertain how it will work. Â Plus whenever they get hooked up on smart TV's that will add some subs
Matt D
The number is solid, I think I was expecting in the 725,000 range. A million by years end isn't out of the question. Â Some of the issue is that Mania was the big draw, I think. They also might lose people after the first six months are up.
anarchistxx
Â Â It's kind of mind boggling to me that I still read people ON THE INTERNET complain about how they don't want to watch the Network on their computers or on their phone and they wish WWE would just work something out with the cable companies. Â That isn't really a case of not understanding the technology though, just that people prefer to watch things on their television and through traditional, easy channels. Personally I can't stand watching wrestling or movies for any length of time on my laptop, and there is no way I can get WWE Network on my television since I don't have a Roku box or a games console. Unless I can recline and sit back and watch on a big screen, there isn't much point. Â Plenty of people are the same, hence my prediction that the show would do a strong number of traditional buys. goc
A Roku Box is cheap and easy to get though. Not more of a hassle than the old days when you used to have to have the special box from the PPV company to get PPVs.
