So it looks like Monday they start putting up the Saturday Night Main Events.

What's frustrating about the Network is that it'd be so easy to placate the people looking for older content. A monthly drop like this would keep everyone busy until the next one.

WWE does well-produced video packages for different wrestlers during Black History Month, yet I don't expect to see a comparable two-minute video explaining the history and appeal of SNME and showing various clips, wrapping up by saying that the entire archive is now available on the WWE Network. I don't understand why they aren't doing something like that for different archival content that is on the network every single week.

I'm guessing it's because they want to set standards low for the current product? If they showed clips of old shows, People would see how much better it was than today and watch those instead of the current stuff. I don't know why they don't do it either.

No shit, given all of the various filler segments they do on RAW just sixty seconds to show Hulk Hogan rescuing Macho Man from the Honky Tonk Man and saying "Saturday Night's Main Event" is now on WWE Network seems like something that could both be super easy to program in and you know, promote the fucking network.

That's really a great idea. A sort of This Week or Today in WWE History, with a few clips, and then a quick message saying that you can see them on the WWE Network.

 

Edit: Or make it Today or This Week in Wrestling History, and they can also promote ECW, WCW, AWA, WCCW, etc.

You don't even need to cut any new footage: just use the intro scene from the SNME DVD set.

Looks like Saturday Nights Main Event is getting pushed back. Instead Monday they're rolling out the Monday Nights War stuff on Monday.

I wonder how much this crosses over into why they did a weaker job of building PPVs in recent years - they're too overworked and stretching themselves so thin that the fundamental things that make people want to spend money on wrestling have been forgotten. The only reason they've given anyone to subscribe to the network in the last month is Money in the Bank.

 

Nostalgia is so strong in wrestling fans minds that not doing stuff like a "WWE Network Moment Of The Week" for every Raw, and showing an awesome angle or historic match in clipped form to tease people to get it, or the above SNME idea, is mind-boggling.

I read before on here that all the house shows were up but I only see a handful on my iPad app. It would suck if that's all they have since I only got it to watch some early 80's Andre and Backlund matches and don't give a fuck about watching the soap opera shit.

I think you read something wrong, there is no where near every house show on it. They haven't even put up a new one in forever.

I think that by all the house shows are up, that person may have been specifically referring to the Roku finally having all the house shows that are currently up on the Network because the website seemed to have more of them than the Roku for a while.

Silly question but is there a chance all the "The Main Event" shows (IE Andre beating Hogan) will not be included in this coming package?

Yeah, the matches from The Main Event were included so I see no reason why they wouldn't be in this lineup.

I still can't believe that the Network on PS3 still hasn't fixed the search feature,. It sucks that only 10 video choices come up. Where is the more or next option for the next 10 videos. Has anyone heard if they're going to fix this?

The first 13 SNME's have been added in the vault section. Hopefully the rest are coming soon.

I believe they are only on the PC version of the Network. I haven't checked the Roku version but I know they are not on my phone

It usually takes a bit before the apps sync up with it. I'm guessing that since only 13 are showing up, they're still in the middle of making the content available.

I read that WWE Network is free for a week & accepting sign-ups without needing a credit card to try it out too. So if there's anyone here that hasn't tried it already, now would be the time. I haven't checked myself, since I'm already a member, so I'm not sure the validity of it but thought I would pass the information along.
