Grimmas
I've seen a lot of people throw out different number 1s in the nomination subforum. Who do you have and why? It will be cool to look back at this thread when the project is done to see if our original number 1s change.
Grimmas
Starting off it's probably Terry Funk, but there is a lot of people sniffing the top. Hansen, Flair, Jumbo, Kawada, Negro Casas, Fujinami, Tenryu, etc... I like the versatility and the great runs as a babyface and a heel. Great technical, brawls and crazy hardcore stuff. He kept everything interesting, no matter the match. I'm ready to be swayed though.
soup23
If I had to turn in a list today: 1. Mitsuharu Misawa 2. Ric Flair 3. Stan Hansen 4. Kenta Kobashi 5. Genechiro Tenryu
Loss
Flair is the guy others have to beat, but I'm trying to keep an open mind about that.
Matt D
If I had to turn in a list today, it'd either be Bockwinkel or Rose, but I have a long, long way to go.
shoe
Flair is my #1, but it could change if another wrestler can make their case to me.
Ricky Jackson
Savage is my #1. Flair probably #2, and then the list gets far less "serious" after that
Grimmas
Savage is my #1. Flair probably #2, and then the list gets far less "serious" after that Randy Savage is going to be such a weird one for me to place. Anywhere from 1 to 30. BillThompson
It either Hansen or Hijo del Santo for me presently. Guys like Vader, Flair, Funk, and Hashimoto probably have an outside shot. But, when it comes down to having very complete and very long careers with sustained levels of greatness Hansen and Santo set themselves apart from the pack. WingedEagle
Misawa has the conch heading into this thing, with Kawada, Hansen, Kobashi, Jumbo and Tenryu the immediate challengers. Curious to see how high Flair, Austin, Michaels and Taue place.

Graham Crackers
Number 1 candidates for me: Fujiwara, Lawler, Hansen, Satanico, Casas.
Matt D
I'm going to push hard for Bock, because, frankly, I think almost everything Flair does well, Bock does almost as well if not as good or better, and he does most of the stuff Flair doesn't do as well, much, much better. I'm looking forward to that. Bock is someone I would consider as well, but I didn't think of him for top 5. Please make that case.
NintendoLogic
My top four of Jumbo, Misawa, Kawada, and Kobashi is pretty well set in stone. After that, it's pretty fluid.

I probably won't have Bock at number 1 but there's a very good chance I'll have him above Flair.
dawho5
Hansen and Kawada vying for number 1 here, with Flair and Misawa close behind. I need to catch up on lots of territories/80s and 90s WWE/WCW stuff and lucha though. Santo could easily be up there from what I've seen. concrete1992
Haven't watched nearly as much stuff as others here, which is why I'm going to use this project to really push for a reason for me to see more, but right now my tentative #1 is Kawada but not at all apposed to putting someone else at that slot after I've filled in so many gaps. Shining Wiz
Daniel Bryan, Ricky Steamboat and Misawa would probably be my top 3 right now if you put a gun to my head. I'm looking forward to seeing how that changes with refreshing myself on some (Bockwinkle) and being introduced to others, having some good sized Lucia, WOS and joshi gaps in my fandom. I also have a dark horse who hasn't been nominated yet who I would likely rank higher than most. I will get around to nominating a few candidates soon. I didn't realize you thought Flair did anything well. I kid, I kid. I think Flair's great at a ton of things. The joke I could give here is that "No one makes bad wrestling more entertaining than Ric Flair" and that he's the Gorilla Monsoon of great matches, but that be disingenuous. Any criticism I have of Ric is strictly on a "Is he the GOAT?" level. I never question that he should be in the argument.
JerryvonKramer
The Flair argument is as much on quantity as it is on quality. It's quantity of quality.
Matt D
So the argument is that he did stuff that I think Bock did better but he did it not quite as well many more times! I'm kidding. I'm a long way off from giving a final verdict on Flair.
