Worst Professional Wrestler Ever?

Recommended Posts

As in, who is the worst actual professional wrestler? Somebody who actively sought out a career in professional wrestling, from the get go and didn't just fall into it (ex: someone who always wanted to wrestle, didn't have a day job, etc)? Someone who made it through wrestling school, and into a well known promotion, but were just so bad at it? Someone who never realised that wrestling "wasn't for them" and continued to stick around in the business?

With these kinds of criteria we can exclude the likes of:

The Great Khali (acting background)

Kurrgan (was just passing through on the way to an acting career)

David Flair

Nathan Jones

I'm personally not as concerned with background or how/why they broke in. But I do think it has to be a guy with a real career. The worst band in the world is some shitty dive act playing bars in Lima, Ohio or somewhere, but they don't annoy as many people for as long as a band like 4 Non Blondes.

I would be hard-pressed to think of a guy who was worse for longer, while still getting big pushes, than Tiger Jeet Singh.

RAJA LION. This guy makes Kurrgan look like he's got the grace and finesse of Rey Misterio Jr.

If we are counting trained wrestlers who had long careers then I agree it's got to be Tiger Jeet Singh.

I would like to say Sandman, but I don't know that I've watched enough of him to properly judge. But from what I've seen, and it's a fair enough portion, he's just awful.

Worst woman from Japan: I was going to say Shark Tsuchida from FMW but her crony with the orange hair (can't remember her name) was even worse. The FMW women's division was atrocious except for the ex-AJW trainees anyway.

Worst Japanese wrestler who went to proper major league dojo training: Ryuma Go?

Crusher Maedomari. Yep. Definitely. Even Shark had a few moments where she would look half competent. But Crusher has always been godawful. On every aspect.

Yeah that one. I didn't even bother googling her name. I'm sure you enjoyed the match where Aja Kong and Kyoko Inoue treated them like shits (one of the stadium shows in maybe 1993).

Worst luchador: El Sicodelico, hands down.

I did. :)

I'm surprised Tiger Jeet Singh hasn't been mentionned yet. Well, okay, he drew, so maybe we can't say he was worthless. Still. The ony guy who I've seen got something, anything semi-watchable out of this load was Fujinami.

Dave Sullivan was indeed pretty worthless in the ring.

The Equaliser/Dave Sullivan?

I saw him in Germany a couple of times being somewhat competent (that's more that can be said for most of the names on this thread!). I knew him from Germany before he was in WCW and I was surprised that he was so shitty. I thought he was a green dude who was going to end up learning. I was also 14 though.

I saw him in France too in a shitty promotion that had a few episodes on TV in 91 or so. I remember guys like Carlos Plata, Johnny Saint or Doc Dean showing up too, along with some French wrestlers (the "star" and owner of the promotion was a guy named Flesh Gordon. Yep.)

Tiger Jeet Singh was my first thought when conceiving this topic as well. I had shortlisted a few more:

- Dave "Evad" Sullivan/The Equaliser

- KENSO/Kenzo Suzuki

- Dennis Knight/Mideon/Henry O Godwinn

The EWF episodes from Eurosport... I forgot about those.

Regal, Owen, Benoit, Iizuka, HERODES and random superworkers showed up, on the other hand you had Flesh Gordon, who was horrible, and gimmicks like TRAVESTI MAN. Yes, his name was THE TRANNY. He was a fat short dude wearing polka dots who actually was a tremendous bumper.

Hiroshi Wajima, though I would question how "proper" his true dojo experience was, or if he got the Bad News Allen express treatment. He was still godawful, though.

And yes, El Gigante had enough of a "real career" to qualify, though if you go by Fantastic's criteria absolving guys who just "fell into the business") he wouldn't.

What about Velvet Sky? She came up through the indies, seems to really love the business, and has been a top star in TNAs knockouts division - including around 2008-09 when the KOs were the best thing about the program.

And yet, she always looks green when the bell rings. And as a talker she's just okay.

And as long as I've gone the TNA route: How about Abyss? Even when I was actively followed the promotion (pre-Hogan), I would often skip over his stuff.

I never actually saw that on Eurosport, only saw a few episodes on national TV TF1. Damn, I missed some stuff that seems awesomely random. Here's a vintage match with Flesh Gordon & Prince Zephy, the two babyface "stars" :

(and yeah, you've got the French equivalent of rednecks in the audience)

(damn, there was actually some pretty good stuff here from Zephy & Jessy Texas. The valet holding the ropes each time his guy makes a tag is a great gimmick too).
