Timbo Slice
On iTunes, it literally broke the downloading system for about a half hour, I'd wager. Had to try downloading this about a dozen times. I'd say there's a bit of anticipation for this.
jpchicago23
Yea I'm still trying to dl....almost two hours when all of his shows go one. Should be good
goc
Yea, that site is down. I guess I'll either hope someone puts it somewhere I can actually download it or I'll just wait to read a recap.
goodhelmet
I was able to listen to the first hour but the 2nd hour didn't download. So far, an hour in, an absolutely must listen to on the insides of the business.
Johnny P
Mike Johnson has a recap of sorts on PWInsider.com
goc
Finally got it to download. Working on putting it up on a popular wrestling torrent site just in case the site gets knocked out again tomorrow.
Johnny P
Please post a link or PM me. I knew this was coming and STILL wasn't home in time to download. Fuck!
goc
It's not worth freaking out over, the upload is broken which is probably why it came off iTunes. It's only about 50 minutes of a 2 hour interview.
Timbo Slice
iTunes has what ends up being almost the full 2 hours up. If it's only the first 50 minutes, well, it's the second 50 minutes you want. Especially when he talks about him telling Vince he's leaving. And some very pointed words for Triple H. Totally worth it.
Zero
Man, Punk's super long reign could have ended with D Bryan beating him.... That'd have been something.
goc
Man, Punk's super long reign could have ended with D Bryan beating him.... That'd have been something. I really wish he'd have just decided to drop the belt so we could have had heel Daniel Bryan vs. The Rock.
goodhelmet
He was fired on his wedding day. Fuck WWE.
Loss
Wait until you hear him unload on Jericho at the very end for the recent story about Jericho saying Punk stopped talking to him.
Timbo Slice
Good lord, that was absolutely INCREDIBLE. I'm not even sure what I could ask as follow ups. WWE was an absolute piece of shit to him. The stories were terrific. The stuff about Ryback, the firing...all of it was just nuts. That type of candidness even now is still shocking, but shocking in the best way possible.
Timbo Slice
As a followup, is anyone gonna do a reaction show to this?
Zero
Some things I just can't agree with Punk though. He really dose't get the whole Rock at 'Mania thing.
goodhelmet
For buyrates, maybe. However, he did point out that you can't make new stars when you keep bringing back old stars to remind people who the real stars are. I thought it was very aware and something said on this board many times.
Timbo Slice
Yeah, for all the things you might call him selfish about, him looking at the big picture supersedes that in a lot of ways. He always talked about how to keep pushing forward and keep things going with different guys, yet he didn't get a chance to do that much. goodhelmet
I just read this at another board and after listening to the podcast, I can't believe I didn't pick up on it.. .the podcast was sponsored by WWE2K15. That is awesome!!!!
goc
Firing him on his wedding day is REALLY petty. It doesn't upset me or offend me but it's just incredibly stupid, especially when they had to know they couldn't withhold his royalty checks and that pissing him off was just going to push him into court over it. The Chief
For buyrates, maybe. However, he did point out that you can't make new stars when you keep bringing back old stars to remind people who the real stars are. I thought it was very aware and something said on this board many times. Agree 100,000% and I've been saying this over and over. Short term gain, long term loss. Gotta make your current roster look good too. I'm actually curious how WWE reacts to this. As "dumb" as WWE is most of the time, since Punk left they have been more aware of this fan base lately. Vince himself is appearing on the Steve Austin Show. Podcasts reach a lot of people and judging by how many people had trouble downloading this, this one is going to reach record numbers of fans. Punk brought up so many good points. What a fantastic interview.
jushin muta liger
It was a great interview/2 hour rant for him to get everything off his chest. I knew that WWE looked like a toxic place to be in but hearing Punk say all of it really makes them look horrible. I'd be very surprised if the WWE doctor stays with the company but they'd prolly replace him with another person that did the same thing he did. I'm happy Punk got out of there. Edit: Do you think Vince addresses this on Austin's podcast?
The Chief
"Because Triple H did such a good job elevating him (Curtis Axel)" Ha! Awesome.
Russellmania
here's a direct link to the audio file itself if anyone's still having trouble getting to it: http://tsmradio.com/coltcabana/podpress_trac/feed/714/0/show226.mp3 holy shit this was a good listen. What a crazy fucked up company that is. Is Vince McMahon the dumbest guy to ever make a billion dollars?
