goc
Just watched The Fabs/Guerreros Cage match and it was pretty good but I wasn't in love with it or anything. I thought the Dibiase/Dr Death vs. Guerreros Cage match was a lot better. Paul Boesch also turned in one of the worst announcing jobs I've ever heard in this match. You could have put a gun to his head and asked him to tell you which Fab was beating on which Guerrero and he'd probably have gotten shot. goc
I just watched Hacksaw Duggan & The Rock n Roll Express vs. Ernie Ladd & The Midnight Express 6/8/84 again after seeing it years ago on the Mid-South set. Such a wild, all action match. Duggan & Morton get made to look super strong in the early part of this match, especially Morton in his stuff with Ernie Ladd. I liked this a ton and the crowd was PISSED and throwing all kinds of garbage in the ring during that post-match beatdown.

Matt D
AWESOME match. It's so good. One of the best Cornette performances I've ever seen. One of the hottest crowds for the hottest tag I've ever heard. I think I gasped when I heard the level increase for it because the whole match was hot, but I wasn't expecting that. A picture perfect shine where the timing was spot on and the little things like how fluidly the MX would go for the hair to force the whips worked. Then all the Cornette Shtick which was so over the top and the crowd was so into. That led up to the transition where Rogers played an amazing FIP but Fulton especially had this sense of near-desperation in being unable to protect his partner. You get the stupid babyface who keeps distracting the ref but this felt more genuine somehow. Rogers with a few really solid hope spots and the MX grinding down and punishing him and Cornette getting his licks in again and again, and finally that hot tag and a fun finish. Crowds don't get better than this. Â No, this was great. Stop what you're doing and watch this. Â EDIT: It's way better than the one from World Class from around the same time, which is a good fundamental match with fire and great heeling, but this was so much more. shoe
Thoughts on 8/31/84 MX vs Fantastics. Watch this match ASAP.http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/31847-midnight-express-vs-fantastics-83184/
Tabe
Not sure the date is right on that Fants/MX match. Looks like a different crowd than the 8/31 Doc vs Taylor match...
shoe
It's right. I also sourced it through the MX scrapbook. The date matches a non title match.
Tim Cooke
MX vs. Fantastics new match is the best the Eaton/Condrey team had with Fantastics. The other 4-5 Mid South matches and 4-5 World Class matches don't put it all together like this one does. Big run through of all the usual spots that both of these teams bring to their matches, and good heat down the stretch. Only disappointment was expecting nuclear level heat but this couldn't upend the 5/11/85 RnR vs. DWB or 3/27/88 Clash I tags.

The heat built just like the match did.
Tim Cooke
Heat was good but wasn't at the level of those matches listed above. Â Loved the match, that was really my only minor criticism and that came from going into the match with the hype of all time great heat
Matt D
The lack of commentary may have created the illusion of more heat for me, but it sure seemed off the charts, especially considering this was a non-title match.
Loss
I signed up for NWA Classics just to see this match (and others eventually, of course). I dropped my thoughts in the thread shoe linked before.
Childs
Could someone do a pinned "must see" matches list? This thread is probably getting a little unwieldy for that purpose, and as more of us start to sign up for the service, might be helpful to have an evolving viewer's guide. Just a thought. Matt D
Pete and I just pulled together our top fives of the new content in no order:  We both had: Gordman/Lothario Hector Guerrero/Lothario This MX/Fantastics tag and Andre/Race  I had Tito vs Reed too and he had Wahoo vs Flair.  But some of the stuff most worth seeing aren't the things that'd get the highest star ratings. Everyone has to see Bracero vs Blanchard for instance but it's more of a jobber tv match where the heel shows a lot of ass in some extraordinary ways. goc
Could someone do a pinned "must see" matches list? This thread is probably getting a little unwieldy for that purpose, and as more of us start to sign up for the service, might be helpful to have an evolving viewer's guide. Just a thought. I would agree with all the stuff Matt D listed and add:  JYD vs. Butch Reed - Dog Collar match Guerreros vs. Al Madril/Jose Lothario  Also everyone needs to see the Buddy Landell vs. Butch Reed -Shoeshine match not for the match itself but for the awesome post-match stuff. But there is also a lot of stuff that wouldn't fall into the "great match" category that still needs to be seen like the Tully/Bracero match, RNR Express vs. Buddy Landell/Masao Ito and pretty much anything that has The Guerreros teaming. BruceTharpe
Thanks for all the great comments. We will continue to upload at least one new match a day maybe more! As we are able to organize the matches we are starting to be able to put together some in episodic fashion along with interviews. Hope you enjoy those. As for the Roku App it is proving to be more costly and complicated than we initially anticipated - but we are continuing to work on it. Also hope to have a BIG announcement in the next few weeks regarding the involvement of a huge wrestling personality in the NWAClassics.com project. goc
Just watched the Masao Ito vs. Lanny Poffo match and it was a pretty good undercard match nothing really special though. I watched this because I've liked Masao Ito in the stuff that's been uploaded so far but this wasn't his best performance and Lanny was really the one who stood out to me. Worked a lot more evenly than I expected.
Tabe
It's right. I also sourced it through the MX scrapbook. The date matches a non title match. I know the date matches a non-title match. What I'm saying is it doesn't match the footage we've already seen from 8/31/84 (a Doc/Taylor match). Could be that the date on THAT one is wrong, of course.
Tabe
And it looks like it is. The match I had as being 8/31/84 between Doc and Taylor looks to be 3/22/85 instead. And the MX/Fants match looks like it matches Magnum/Reed from 8/31/84.
