Sasha not being listed yet makes me wonder how Bayley or Kairi Hojo would have done if they had been nominated. I was thinking of nominating them both but backed off after reading the reaction to Sasha.

Very happy to see that I wasn't the only Arisa Nakajima voter, and not even the high vote either!

Kendrick at nine is not something I agree with, but I can see the narrative behind it.

I'm more offended that five people have seen enough wrestling to name a hundred wrestlers and still think "Yeah, that Dolph Ziggler is top hundred material".

Will the tag team reveal coincide with the GWE reveal or happen afterwards?

Great work on this, btw. I found this board not long ago. Glad that I did, as this has been cool to watch unfold.

Tag Teams will start soon and I will alternate back and forth.

Don't alternate. Focus on one.

Maybe split the difference: get through 250 on the singles list then take a break and do the full tag rundown?

tag teams in may?

This

Yes. Interrupting the single countdown now would be kinda frustrating, no ?

I just wanted to pop in and say that the revealing process has been beautiful so far. Also, I am baffled I haven't had anyone show up yet, but keep up the great work!

Funny. That being said, Jimmy Garvin at #47 is pretty much as baffling as HTM to me. Garvin is one of the most boring wrestler ever. Yes, that includes his prime in WCCW. At least HTM was supposed to suck.

Garvin was all entrance and gimmick. Similar to Finn Balor today. YEAH I SAID IT!

I thought the Hayes and Garvin Freebirds were supposed to be sucky, windbag, give the fans as little as possible heels.

YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH.

They sure did.

I take Freebirds 90 entrance complete with DDP and Diamond dolls over Finn Balor goofy cosplay anyway too. And would probably have thought so at 14 years old too.

Savio/TNT was one of those cuts I made that had me angry because I really wanted to have PR well represented on my ballot. The problem was WWC and IWA were promotions filled with great wrestlers who either didn't make tape enough, worked clipped matches, or were just blow the threshold where I could t quite justify tossing them a vote. Savio and Ron Starr were the two guys with PR primes who I left off but really hated leaving off. Both would have made my top 175 at worst, probably top 150.

One thing I like about Mandos list is that I know he's seen a lot of live wrestling over the years, and I think to a degree that is reflected in his ballot. Even if he didn't see B Boy live much (or at all), I think his sensibilities and Aesthetic tastes have probably been shaped by seeing lots of indie shows live and I like that voice as an addition to the project

I have been the high voter on both Scott Norton & The Barbarian so far. I guess I like hosses more than most! Also, I loathe most women's wrestling & Lucha Libre, so there is a big disconnect there. I'm not ashamed of either! :)

So you're the high vote for Dory ?

The great thing about Mondo's list is we've seen two names from it thus far, and I'm pretty sure I could give you a solid approximation of his top 10. That's really the most fun part about this for me; these lists are a window in to who we are as fans, what we value, what we neglect. I hope my list reflects my aesthetics. If it doesn't, if you can't tell who I am as a fan from reading it, than it's a failure, and I should reassess what I think I'm valuing and the process I used to come to these conclusions. Mondo's list tells me exactly who he is, and comes across as earnest and truthful. It's irrelevant that I disagree with it.

Ok... GWE month continues into May with the tag list reveal.

in fact... can we still turn in ballots for tag team? Please :(

That would be awesome. I was too focused on the singles to really take a crack at tag teams.

Thirded.

And... Andrei Kopylov got 4 votes ? Wow. That's quite amazing. RINGS fans somewhere.

Kopylov getting 4 votes isn't amazing in any way. If anything it's disappointing to me since I'm pretty sure at least two of them were people who I talked into submitting a ballot at the last minute.

I was wondering how modern guys who were nominated would do, quite surprised to see Rush hasn't shown up yet (I think?).
