So apparently Billy Jack Haynes has been declared mentally unfit to stand trial for his wife’s murder. He has been sent to a mental hospital until he is deemed able to stand trial. I have already seen some people freaking out about this like he is getting away with something, but from my experience working in the system, life is a heck of a lot easier in prison than it is in a secure, state run mental hospital. Those places are a nightmare.

It's not really my place to post about this since I'm not an admin and have no desire to become one, and not to be disrespectful to anyone who is, but is anyone out there that posts and visits here regularly interested in becoming an admin? Mostly wondering because GWE is coming up next year, and there appears to be interest around here, including several new posters joining expressly for that purpose, but the admin in charge is rarely around these days and nothing is being updated. Also, I noticed there hasn't even been a folder for 2025 added to the match discussion archive and we are in May, as another example of the general lack of maintenance around here.

Again, I'm not looking to become an admin, my interest in wrestling is super low right now, even for old school stuff. But this was/is a great place and it would be a shame for it to completely die when enough folks are still interested in contributing. The problem as I see it is that most of the admins seem to no longer be around, and this place has been slowly dying for years. Not pointing any fingers or making demands, but this was an awesome place for wrestling discussion and still can be. I just want to see PWO thrive if possible. But maybe this is just how it is these days.

You could try contacting Charles via DM on Twitter, he will probably get back to you and maybe have some input about adding some new mods, at least.

Seriously though, I have no real interest myself, but a new admin or two would probably be great to have.

With that said, PWO is surprisingly cordial without any real admin presence. People here generally disagree without it turning into a toxic wasteland. That's really rare, especially for a wrestling forum.

The vibes have almost always been great around here, there just needs to be closer management of some of the sub forums (GWE, Match Discussion, etc)

i'd be fine handling the busywork with GWE threads if there's stuff to be covered

Nah, I'm good. Plus let's be real, if I was to become an admin, the *very first thing* I would do would be to ban one member that should have been banned a few years back but wasn't (don't ask, those you know know. I still have *that* screenshot somewhere though, so there you go). 😎

With that I have zero interest in GWE. Done it twice. First one was fun. It was an era. Second one, less so. I've reach the point where ranking pro-wrestlers is a completely uninteresting idea to me. My list would probably be funny as fuck though and would give any old-schooler brain trauma.

As far as the forum goes, the activity it what it is. It's a forum. Forums are dead. It's sad in a way, but it's how it goes. Nothing lasts forever.
