I have some NOAH vs NJPW Box Set from the 2002-2003 feud and wanted to include one of the better Liger or Kikuchi tags. Anyone have a recommendation for which one would be the best one? I'd provide a match list of the box set to give a starting point, but I can't seem to find one on the Internet. Hopefully, the best stuff is among what I have.

I took a note of the listings a while back because I was considering getting the set. Never did end up getting it mind you, and I'm not sure why.

 

As for which Kikuchi vs Liger tag I'd recommend, well it's been a while since I've seen the tags, but at the time the August match Bix mentioned was the one I remember really standing out as being the clear best. Maybe the others were better than I remember them being (which may in turn be a good reason to get the set), but that was the one I remember really loving.

It looks like I'm going to be going with a tag team theme this time. Every match will be a tag match, representing as many eras/styles/promotions as I possibly can.

 

Any non-wrestling stuff included will also be tag team centric.

 

I know the matches I want to use, but am unsure at this point if they're all going to fit. I will post a match list when I know for sure.

Okay, so I thought about it, and if it's too many matches, I'll just make two discs. No extra charge. It's the holidays, and it's taken longer than it should have from this set to the next one, so consider this my apology. Here are the matches I'm looking at. They won't be in this order, though.

 

Whenever I do a six-man theme, World Class will finally make its debut on this set. Since the DVDVR Mid South set is coming out soon, I won't step on it here.

Express/Bodies is really really good. And i'd put Santo/Casas vs Mephisto/Averno.

I have heard about Randy Savage and Bobby Eaton doing 60-minute Broadways in Alabama in the 70s. If there is footage I couldn't image it being bad!

 

Also The Mulkeys and MX could be awesome. I don't know if its true but read the MX tried to bring a ***** match with the Mulkeys. Would be good.

 

And yes WWC is most certainly needed. As my knowledge is next to nothing on PR.

Put one of those Portland Buddy Rose matches on that you were pimping, Will. I think most folks have seen the Bob vs Buddy MSG match, so something from Portland would be better. A good 2/3 fall tag match. It's good tease for the later DVDVR set, and isn't exactly giving away the farm since there's so much more to come.

 

Also perhaps something to tease the El Hijo Del Santo set. Perhaps Santito vs Panther in England, or one of the great, lesser known matches.

 

If you do these maybe every other month (6 a year) or every quarter (4 obviously), it's not a bad place to drop in some tastes of things that are either topical or sets that are coming out.

I dont know if any footage exists, but in the Bruno Sammartino shoot interview he said he once wrestled a 1 hour draw with Gorilla Monsoon.... I'd buy a ticket to see that..
