I can't remember if that was the case for Double or Nothing. I believe the guys other than Excalibur have some link to the gaming thing - they were the announcers last year for the New Japan show at this convention. I don't recall liking them last year bu they seem fine as color guys.
Mad Dog
That was a really strong opener. Honestly, if they can just give me tag team wrestling like this on a weekly basis I am down.
Mad Dog
Well looks like they learned on the Smash Brothers fail last time.
hammerva
Part of me wished that the Best Friends were hugging when the lights get back on I wonder how many people actually watched the original documentary to get these references
goodhelmet
Decent opener. Nothing offensive. A ton of contrived but well executed spots that I enjoyed watching. The Private Party double teams were great. Now, the Dark Order are not going to get over. They were mocked at Double or Nothing and the angle died an apathetic death tonight. Reboot these guys if you want to keep them and give them something new before they get on national TV.

Log
Then parodying a recent meme-worthy doc at least sets them as being more “with-it”. Do the kids still say “with-it”?

DIdn't watch it, but read about that debacle, so the references are fine with me. I wanna watch it eventually though. Mr. Hughes looked in great shape. Mad Dog
Okay this was losing me until Avalon just yelled "Words!" at the crowd.
hammerva
I love Leva Bates but this librarian gimmick is worse than almost anything in the WWE currently
sek69
It's probably not intentional, but having these segments between matches probably helps so the women don't have to directly follow such a hot opener.
PeteF3
The Fyre references were cute for a little bit, but they're taking it too far in full WWE fashion, and why the fuck are we booking Kenny Omega to look like an incompetent dork? goodhelmet
THey are going to have to distinguish these pretty brunettes from each other because I thought it was Smilie Kylie until the announcers kept calling her Allie.
Badlittlekitten
Good God this is crap. The two worst segments from DON back to back. Terrible way to start the show.

Not to be offensive to both of them but that would have to be an insanely quick surgery to have Kylie look like Allie
Mad Dog
This probably should have been a quick Allie runs over Leva match.

PeteF3
I liked the triple threat itself okay (though if they wanted to actually think outside the box as much as they want us to think they do, they'd can the idiotic first-pin rules) but this feels very WWE Lite despite the few token attempts at differentiating themselves. A completely useless 3-man announce booth more interested in bantering with each other than calling the match or explaining what's going on to a new audience, same general beats in the matches. sek69
Who would have figured the way to make Leva Bates interesting is to have Big Cass singing the Price is Right theme.

Some of her cosplay stuff is fun but it kind of falls apart when she has to work long like this.
...TG
This librarian thing is brutally bad. A throwback to mid-90s WWF occupation-based gimmicks without the nostalgia making it bearable. And the match isn't much better.
