sek69
Well in kayfabe, if I'm going to have a match where someone gets set on fire I'm not going in there in my undies either.

Agreed, but Bray is wearing only a dingy wifebeater under his jacket. They should both be covered properly to sell the stip.

EricR
Was helping my sister pack so getting a late start to TLC. But I'm excited for Sasha/Carmella, and the 8 man tag on the Kickoff was fired up fun. Doing a late blog. https://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2020/12/wwe-tlc-2020-late-blog.html
Dav'oh
Looks like they hired Penn & Teller for the finale.
C.S.
This show over-delivered IMO. Every match was good.
ButchReedMark
Can someone remind me why I watch wrestling please? I watch it far less but tonight's main made me realise why I watch it at all. It's strange, I can get on fine with the undead realm in impact all day, but throw Bray Wyatt in a ring and I feel like boiling my head in scalding hot battery acid with sugar thrown in there so it'll stick. Especially when it's with Randy Orton. We've gone from overhead projecter maggots to a burning AND BURNED TO DEATH Fiend. How will WWE top (lower) themselves next time Orton and Wyatt get it on? Especially SFX wise. I think only Manos Hands of Fate and The Curious Dr Hump have had worse effects and Dr Hump was essentially a (hilarious) softcore porno from Argentina in the 60s, so it gets a free pass. SirEdger
I guess we might have a hint of what is next for Bray Wyatt in the evolution of his character...or at least, the evolution of the Fiend.

Because one is fun and self-aware of its campiness, the other is shit is self-important. 2 hours ago, jiraffejustin said: This is what you missed. Well, after re-thinking about it, I have better things to do with my day actually... Like, taking a shit and stuff. Reading the thread, this show looks like the absolute pits. Migs
This was an easy PPV comment thread to read. I always assumed if my daughter got into wrestling at all I'd end up watching some WWE again because that's what her friends would watch, but now I'm starting to think if she's watching when she's in grade school a few years from now even little kids will be onto AEW. EDIT: Took a look at the Observer site, and no one commenting on Miz cashing in and losing? What was the point? Why not have Otis keep it and get his ass kicked by Roman? The briefcase may be the most obvious evidence of the lack of long-term booking plans at the moment.
NintendoLogic
I have a feeling they're going to start periodically killing off the Fiend and resurrecting him in a new form as a merchandising ploy. Like destroying Megatron and turning him into Galvatron so there'd be new toys to sell.

Tenese Sarwieh
I’m going to focus on the positive on this show because the rest was hot garbage. Owens/Reigns was tremendous, these two have great chemistry doing these garbage matches harking back to their brawl at the rumble in 2017. It also helped that the melodrama was not overdone like in previous Reign matches.
SirEdger
Their rematch on Smackdown on Christmas Night should be fun; Steel Cage this time.

DMJ
Yeah. It was. And I'm as negative about the WWE as a whole as anyone. - Both tag matches were really, really good (though the finish to the RAW Tag Team Title match wasn't great). The New Day staked their claim to being in consideration as the best tag team in the US. - Banks vs. Carmella was probably Carmella's career match and arguably one of Banks' too. - I didn't love the opening match, but Reigns/Owens was a winner for me. As everyone has said, even during the build, it never felt like Owens had a chance - but I liked that they leaned into that in the match too instead of trying to build up Owens as Reigns' equal. Owens never had control. He got some offense in, sure, but Reigns dominated for the most part and had Jey Uso cutting off Owens any time that KO even got close to the belt. Someone mentioned that there was some overkill in the table and ladder spots, but I thought they all looked good and didn't feel overly "set up" (which can often be the case when you see guys setting up tables all over the ring). - The last match was exactly the level of silly everyone would expect. It wasn't good but I do think the visual of Wyatt trying to light Orton on fire in the rocking chair was fun and the final visual was cool too. The match was obviously taped - if the Wyatt mannequin being set aflame wasn't enough, look at the digital audience's non-reactions. Based on their non-engagement, I'm guessing that the match was taped while the audience were in some digital "waiting room"? Or just recycled from some other segment? SirEdger
The Firefly Inferno match was apparently taped in the afternoon because of all the editing & multiple takes that they had to shoot in several spots. So, it's very likely that as you said, they recycled footage from other segments and inserted it there. I *think* I read on Twitter while I was following the PPV live on Twitter on Sunday night that someone had spotted Goldberg in the Thunderdome so that could be a very good indication that they did use old footage to be "the crowd" for the main event. cactus
I skimmed though this and I thought it looked like a good show. The McIntyre/Styles opener was rife with great limb selling and I have no idea how Styles can bump as well as he can for a man of his age. Miz cashing in felt like an afterthought. Think it's time they bin off the MITB for a few years. I couldn't take my eyes of Style's manager. Guy looks like he could be a main event player if he knows how to work. I'm glad to see Charlotte back. Between the two singles titles, he women's division feels stretched thin since her, Lynch and Rousey left. I enjoyed the match. I hope the pairing of Jax and Baszler continues. If Reigns popped back a few months earlier, he'd easily be my WOTY. Guy continues to shine as an arrogant heel. Owens fighting from underneath worked well and the structure of this reminded me of that great Undertaker/Hardy ladder match from 2002. Owens refuses to stay down, despite all the punishment he's taken. I genuinely thought that Owens was going to win this at some point. One of my favourite matches of the year. The Firefly Inferno match was certainly ...something. Not sure if I thought was an entertaining spectacle or complete WrestleCrap. Wyatt burning made for a cool visual to end the show on, mind.
