Stiva Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 AKA CM Punk’s “surprise” debut. Moxley takes on Daniel Garcia, Jurassic Express have Private Party in that thrown together tag tournament and Cargill will flex her way through Kiera Hogan. Hopefully, we hear Eddie Kingston’s response to Miro too but this is really a one angle show so let’s hope they stick the landing. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 Is there even the slightest chance he won't appear tonight? I hope they don't just show him, instead giving us a fake out. Quote
Timbo Slice Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 I would die laughing if this was all some Colt Cabana troll job, but yeah, he’s showing up tonight. Has to. Quote
WingedEagle Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 I'm a lot more pumped for the show tonight than I would've thought even a month or 2 ago. Looking forward to seeing how they debut him. Quote
strobogo Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 I'm a lot more interested in the reaction and how they debut him than seeing Punk in 2021 in any capacity. Would really hope they don't do the heel comes out instead for DA HEAT because that seems like 100% the "LOL I'M A HEEL YOU GOT WORKED YOU MARKS" kind of thing they'd do with MJF. Quote
Stiva Posted August 20, 2021 Author Report Posted August 20, 2021 Tony Khan has said the whole show is going to be formatted differently to normal so I’m intrigued to see what that means, especially since they’re dealing with just an hour. Quote

sek69 Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 13 minutes ago, KawadaSmile said: hope it's just one cinematic segment following punk's pov all the way to the ring Whole show is one long ass tracking shot like Henry walking through the restaurant kitchen in Goodfellas. Also how wild would it be if Punk debuts, the Elite come out and surround the ring ready to beat his ass and Punk's like "oh you thought I came alone?" then Final Countdown starts playing. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 Don't think it would make sense for them to debut both Punk and DB on the same episode. Specially when they haven't really hyped anything. Quote

I mean, it doesn't make normal pro wrestling sense for them to have Punk debuting and never directly say so on TV leading up to it, so at this point I'm thinking all sense is out the window. Quote
Coffey Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 I've not wanted to see a wrestling show this much in a long, long time. Unfortunately, I'll be stuck at work. So I'll probably be checking in sporadically on my phone at work or will come home & try to watch it in the morning. Quote
Jmare007 Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 They gotta have him live tonight. They've teased him too much and they have a massive reaction and moment (and buzz) in the palm of their hands. Just announcing he's signed and will debut at All Out or doing a swerve would be such a weird and needless move just to get their own audience pissed off. Quote
sek69 Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 Yeah I love this, feels like it did back in 96-97 having two companies doing big moves to counter each other and it being awesome for wrestling fans. Watching the younger generation that only knows decades of a monopoly get to experience this warms my normally cold, dead heart lol. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted August 20, 2021 Report Posted August 20, 2021 hope he headbutts kenny omega right in the fucking face like angle did to joe Quote

sek69 Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 My work place was letting people go home early tonight so I can watch Rampage unbothered. I mean, they weren't letting people go specifically for that of course, but I'm psyched nevertheless. Quote
Blehschmidt Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 Maybe he debuts at the beginning of the show and becomes the 5th man on the announce team! Quote
Flyin' Brian Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 (edited) Is the United Center a legit sell out tonight? If so that’s really impressive to me and no way they pull a bait and switch in that situation. EDIT - accordingly to this close enough I guess https://www.ringsidenews.com/2021/08/16/aew-rampage-the-first-dance-special-isnt-quite-a-sellout-just-yet/ Edited August 21, 2021 by Flyin' Brian Add link Quote
Jmare007 Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 He looks so damn happy, that's dope. Quote
Timbo Slice Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 Unreal. One of the most surreal moments in quite some time. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 Well my completely legal stream died so I missed the moment Quote

Yeah the saddest part of what happened with him was how WWE so thoroughly killed his passion for the thing he spent his whole life doing. Seeing him get emotional at hearing the response was a great great moment. Quote
C.S. Posted August 21, 2021 Report Posted August 21, 2021 I loved how CM Punk hugged so many fans and dived into the crowd. I've never seen him so demonstrative with his emotions. What an incredible moment! Quote
