Seems to be a fantastic professional wrestler. I watched him for years in TNA, where he was the N°1 guy for quite a while. He absolutely is a fantastic worker. He's had countless awesome matches in TNA. I'm so glad both him and Speedball went to AEW. 16 hours ago, sek69 said: Also I love Toni Storm's new gimmick of trying to get the announcers to break every week. Her saying that she wouldn't go around calling herself a CEO right now in a post-Luigi world got a pop from me. She's just hilarious. With Schiavone & Nigel being the funniest announcing team in eons, this is just a match made in heaven. Yeah, forgot about Trent too actually. I think Rocky will never get a proper run though, he's too busy backstage putting shit together like THREE shows in Arena Mexico. That guy. I absolutely did not expect Nick Wayne to win before he goes to the Super Jr. but why not. That match was so awesome and the mom chants were glorious. I seen Nick Wayne at 17 or so have a great match with Ospreay (I know, that's a cheat code), he's a special talent. The Deathriders angle has actually gotten good again. Who would have thought ? Timbo Slice
Samoa Joe makes everything good, let’s be honest. I’m now convinced the first part of the year was AEW trying to figure out the best way to pivot, and it’s paid off. Alexander as the wild card is great, and I like how they’re building up the Don Callis Family, something I never thought I’d say in 2025. strobogo
Joe's AEW has been so good it's unbelievable considering how bad he was at the end of his WWE run and that last NXT run, and even the end of his TNA run over a decade ago. Unreal rebound.
Timbo Slice
The end of his WWE run was concussion plagued and he didn’t want to take chances, but man, he looks like he’s about to go out in a blaze of glory with this run.
El-P
It's easily Joe's second best part of his career, behind his peak in early ROH/TNA. In other news, where the hell is Tay Melo ? She had this match in Stardom at the beginning of the year, and for anyone who watched the Vlog, she was just so moved to be there and back wrestling. She hasn't showed up anywhere since. Sammy Guevarra is seemingly living his best life in ROH teaming with Dustin and just having fun matches. No sign of Tay yet. Likewise, Anna Jay has vanished alongside her boyfriend. Maybe a return of TayJay would be a cool way to reintroduce them in a fresh way.
Blehschmidt
While I feel like AEW needs to get rid of a ton of titles, I actually think Womens Tag Titles would be a good idea for then. TayJay, Julia and Skye, could put Red Velvet and Kiera Hogan back together, and a lot of the other girls they aren't using could be utilized in a tag division. MoS
Excellent Collision to follow one of the GOAT Dynamites. AEW is on a roll
Laz
I watched both Dynamite and Collision last week in full, probably my first time watching a full AEW show since the lockdown episodes, and enjoyed the hell out of them overall. There were a few things I wish they'd do (space the promos out a bit more, cut down on match time a little more for the sake of pacing, get rid of Lance Archer), but killer double shot overall. The MGM Music Hall at Fenway is a great venue for wrestling. Someone on another board said it feels like Boston's version of Hammerstein, and I'm inclined to agree. My ratings for the matches, for what they're worth: Mercedes/Athena: ***3/4 Hangman/Alexander: **3/4 Hurt Syndicate/Gates of Agony: ** Ospreay/Takeshita: **1/2 Death Riders/Opps: **3/4 Knight/Archer: N/R (fuck Archer) Alexander & Takeshita/Romero & Ishii: ** Cole/Claudio: **3/4 LFI/job guys: ** Komander/Wayne: **3/4 Mercedes & Harley/Statlander & Hart: ***
El-P
Master P at Dynamite. Will someone reference Rap is Crap ? Also, the next thing we need is DJ Ran all up in yo area.
Dale Wolfe
They can't do No Limit Soldiers without Brad Armstrong but surely Tony Khan can pull together a Swoll cameo for the older crowd
Timbo Slice
If there’s no Swoll, there should be no Master P cameo.
El-P
There's no way Big Swole is showing up... oh, wait. Considering Master P was in the same group as Konnan, odds on him getting fucking killed ?
sek69
I love how Kyle Fletcher found the ultimate douchebag heel look by mixing 90s HBK with $500 shirt era Rock.
sek69
Stokely as the manager for heel FTR was not something I was expecting but you know what, it works. They have a Bobby Heenan and the Brainbusters vibe.
strobogo
Bucks looking in the best condition of their careers. The luxury of working 3 times in 6 months. I'm all in on Kevin Knight. He could easily be the 2A Ospreay in AEW. Speedball also a delight. Great pick ups for AEW. As far as Josh Alexander, sure he's technically good at everything in the ring but he reminds me of John Walters as a copy of a copy. Does not stand out at all in any way. MoS
Hangman has completely eclipsed MJF as a promo. As someone who has been batting for Hangman for seemingly years now, this is extremely satisfying to me

His epic "Cowboy Shit" promo was relatively early on, and that alone outshined most of MJF's mic work.
El-P
In the grand scheme of things, Hangman Page has always been the main character of AEW, since the beginning. I'm so glad the Bucks are back. Yeah, amazing shape, and ridiculous ways of still being the GOATS, really. It's just a dream match every week to see Speedball interacting with this roster. Glad to see Stokely back too. Interesting choice of putting him alongside FTR (because they really don't need a manager to cut promos for them, but then again I really like Stokely). Gotta love Ricky Morton taking that piledriver like a king at 68. Can't say I was *shocked* to see Josh Alexander do the C4 on Brody, but still amazed. He too, I'm glad he's there. He's not gonna be the man like he was in Impact, but I can't wait when he's thrown in this year's CC, because he should. MJF is actually make me kinda enjoy the Hurt Syndicate, so that's a feat. Tag titles still are in limbo though. Heel FTR gotta get those. Overall, just a terrific episode again.

He's not the all time great at taking a beating for nothing. Plus it makes sense since FTR are the ones with the legally distinct Midnight Express theme, of course they're going to beat up the R&Rs like nature intended. Also I think Queen Amidala has a lot of potential, but the first thing she needs to learn is that you really don't want to bloody up one of the company's top stars. She was out there like Toni owed her money.
sek69
Not that I was expecting anything different, but FTR vs Whatever the Fuck Undisputed Era are Calling Themselves Now was a banger.
DMJ
I only saw half of Dynamite so I can't really speak on everything this week, but two thoughts - * The Young Bucks are funny to me in the sense that, when I hear the music, I'm always like, "Man, not these guys again." Which, if you look at the ratings, it seems like a lot of people think the same thing. And then, like 10 minutes later, I'm watching them and thinking, "These guys are so goddamn good." And that happens consistently with them. I can't really think of any other act that gets that response from me where, if you ask me my thoughts on the Bucks at any random time, I'd probably say, "Yeah, they're just annoying and I'm not a fan," but if you were to ask me that same question while watching a Young Bucks match, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't enjoying it. I'm not sure how they overcome that sentiment with people who grab their remotes when they come onto the screen. Those people miss great matches like the one they had this week. * Love Stokely with FTR. He is excellent and deserves to be with a true, top-level spotlight act. He did good work with Willow and Statlander, but it was often comedic. I like him being a "serious" heel manager even better. Really liked that segment, even with how predictable and trope-ish it was, mostly because of Stokely and Dax's mic work.
El-P
A week behind on things. Damnit Kyle Fletcher vs Hangman Page was ridiculous. It took a while, but I thoroughly enjoy the MJF/Hurt Syndicate segments now. No idea where this goes in term of matches though. And the tag titles are still dead in the water. Toni Storm has reached one hell of a status. I saw the "I'm here and I'm queer" promo from Collision. Quite the statement too.
