Can't believe how many people in this thread are mad that we are going to get a rematch of one of the best WrestleMania matches of all time between Roman and Brock AND with an actual finish this time.
-
I can't imagine it was THAT cheap considering Billy also bought the Houston footage from Bruce Tharpe who put a lot of his own money into it and could have at least kept that to sell to WWE in a separate deal.

The reaction from people I follow on twitter that have been watching MMC has been overwhelmingly positive. Sounds like a really fun show. Haven't had a chance to really check it out myself since I'm working on a few footage projects taking up most of my time but when I do finally get around to it I'll probably binge watch a few episodes at a time.

They're gonna wind up doing four HIAC matches, TLC, MITB etc with one men's and one women's per brand.

Hell yes! NOVA Pro is my favorite promotion on Powerbomb. And my 2nd favorite is the CTW promotion out of Portugal that I've seen no one else ever talk about even though it's really fun.

And then immediately after that Billy went and bought the NWA. No idea how much he paid for it but it's not like he got that money and then put it all back in his bank account.

Billy Jack Haynes claims to have witnessed famous murder case
goc replied to Strummer's topic in Pro Wrestling
The money isn't going to Billy Jack though it's going to a private investigator. I don't believe him but it's not some scam for Billy Jack to get crowd funding. -
I think it's way too simple to just go "well it's all Vince's fault" especially when so many people went out of their way to try and avoid giving him any credit for Smackdown being really good last year. Let's not forget how many people kept trying to say "Vince only cares about Raw, HHH is in charge of Smackdown" last year when SD was clearly the better show. Now Raw is by far the better show and it's almost at 2000 Raw vs Nitro levels of disparity between Raw & SD. The biggest common denominator between Raw's low point last year & SD now is that both shows were at their lowest points when they focused large amounts of time on Kevin Owens as the lead heel. It's not ALL his fault but it's certainly a factor.

Yea the whole "OMG THIS MEANS THE BRAND SPLIT IS DEAD!" thing is a massive overreaction. During the last split the dual brand PPVs were around longer than split PPVs were, If you want to be mad at someone, blame that fake member of the Armstrong family who had to have been dropped off at a fire station and taken home by Bullet Bob. He hasn't been able to come up with a good Smackdown PPV card on paper since after WrestleMania and frequently just repeated the same shit over and over. Raw PPVs have not been guilty of that except for maybe the tag team title matches. And even that was the result of teams getting injured (Jeff Hardy, both Revival members at different times)

Booker T hates Corey Graves now? Is this a real thing?

Booker T hates Corey Graves now? Is this a real thing?

I really don't think Booker T wanted to be on commentary and doesn't care that he got taken off. He just said that shit about wanting to fight Corey Graves because he knew people would talk about it and it might get more people to listen to his radio show. There is some quote out there from Booker on an interview from a while back talking about how he prefers to just do the pre-show stuff instead of weekly announcing because it gives him more time for Reality of Wrestling. Whether Booker T does or doesn't care about being taken off commentary doesn't change the fact that he was far more entertaining in the booth than The Coach has been over the past 2 weeks. -
It's 2018, positioning her as a heel on the TV show is not going to diminish whatever positive press they are going to get from Ronda wrestling.

I've been tweeting about how awesome Booker T was on commentary for months. That was by far the best 3 man booth that WWE has had since they've come obsessed with them and the team had great chemistry together. It also lead to a fresh dynamic where none of them were really straight heel or face and each had their own acts they were either fans of or didn't like with Corey Graves hating Elias but Cole & Booker being fans of him and Booker T constantly hating on Jason Jordan while Graves & Cole usually defended him. -

Booker T was great on commentary and Coach is boring as fuck and might as well not even be there with the way the other two ignore him. -
Fact. Also as far as Ronda Rousey goes I'm fairly certainshe is already being presented as a heel. The way everyone else in the ring reacted to her coming out at the Rumble, the way the rest of the roster is talking about her on twitter, all signs point to her being a heel. They know a lot of the fans are going to boo her for being the "outsider" coming in with a big push so they're just going to lean into it.

Southwest Championship Wrestling - Best of?
goc replied to thebrainfollower's topic in Pro Wrestling
Yea I'm not sure any territory is harder to figure out dates for than Southwest. -
Rey looked incredible in the Rumble. Just body and movement wise he looked 10 years younger than the last time in WWE. I would love to see him come back and Smackdown desperately needs him from a ticket selling standpoint and an overall interest standpoint and I'm sure he'd get pushed since Road Dogg is absolutely in love with pushing the oldest people on the SD roster anyway.

You say "half assed" and I immediately think of Jeff Cobb, not Lashley. In my limited viewing of him Cobb is a dude who is good for like two really cool power spots and then very little effort the rest of the way. I also saw Swagger have the most boring no effort match for NEW against Warbeard Hanson that was probably in front of the biggest crowd he's worked in his post-WWE indie run so I'm not sure he belongs in that category either.

I think Jericho led to increased interest outside of the U.S. and may have convinced more people to fly in from other countries to see the show but I don't think you can attribute that much of the 8,000 ticket increase to Jericho. Judging from all the stuff people said about the crowd being really quiet after the initial pop for the finish I'd say the majority of the increased ticket sales is due to people in Japan wanting to see Naito win.

Mike Kanellis was clearly a package deal with Maria and once she got pregnant I think that derailed whatever plans they had for them. Whether or not he'll ever recover and get back in the mix, I have no idea but considering WWE paid for Mike's rehab stint and Maria is getting a very extended paternity leave I'd say they aren't doing bad from a financial standpoint.

That doesn't really make sense for why anyone would do that though, the $9.99 gives you access to their entire back catalog and the live event on top of that is only $5 so with FITE TV you'd pay the exact same price for one show as you would for one show at the WNN Club without the hundreds of back catalog shows.
-
Live streams are an additional $5 and VOD of the live events are $7.50.

Yes because this is totally a thing that is exclusive to The Young Bucks and in no way has anyone acted like this about Roman Reigns or John Cena.
