  1. I always felt one of the only real tangible benefits to the six-sided ring was more angles from which Monty Brown could pounce people I've talked to a few guys who worked for TNA through the years, and they universally disliked working in that ring because they said the ropes were rock hard.
  2. to be fair, that's because most of it was forgettable. The "workrate" company had arguably one of the worst top-to-bottom shows of Mania week.
  3. "MikeMcGirkoff" has a similar channel if you are looking for WWF House shows, that one came up in my feed about the time Wrestling Collector went down. Can someone shoot me direct links to these channels because they aren't showing up for me when I attempt to search on Youtube
  4. I was front row for that first one in Detroit and they landed right in front of me on that botched super powerbomb spot. We thought Jacobs was dead.
  5. The issue is the timing and the execution. It did not come off as correcting an error, it came off as a chance to show how smart he was.
  6. With comments like that, there's good reason to wonder.
  7. I'm not a star ratings guy but to me five stars basically is equivalent to perfection. I thought this match was a lot of fun despite the midmatch lull but certainly not perfect.
  8. The best Taker has looked in years, but the entire build and execution of this makes no sense in the greater context of what happened in the main event
  9. I'm over watching Lesnar wrestle. For the past 2ish years, most Lesnar matches are like when you invite a friend over to play action figures and they make all their guys invulnerable and unbeatable. He gets gassed so quickly, threw some super unsafe suplexes and basically chewed up Reigns in a 90/10 extended squash.
  10. This felt a little shaky at the start, then got real good, but I'm baffled by the finish. Charlotte might be the most protected member of the roster, creatively, who isn't Lesnar.
  11. Even if they rehearsed this dozens of times, this was so well-laid out and executed from start to finish. Really enjoyable.
  12. Aside from this being the first match back for Bryan, this was skippable for me. That being said, as someone who had the same type of hernia Shane has, I can't imagine wrestling and bumping with it, even though I am sure he had it braced and padded. That had to hurt like a motherfucker...
  13. I've thought about trying Stardom for a while but never pulled the trigger Also, I forgot I also have WWN Club, mostly because I know some guys who work under their umbrella
  14. I keep WWE and NJPW World and cycle back and forth between some of the others from month to month in an effort not to pay for services I'm not watching
  15. That's fair I just think talking about the ratings or, when they mention Jay White reading the poor reviews of his match with Tanahashi, it's too meta for my taste
  16. Kevin and Don definitely get too "smart" at times talking about star ratings and such but I think they've actually evolved into a fine duo, especially for newer fans who may be checking out NJPW for the first time
  17. Minoru Suzuki has been my favorite guy on their roster this year
  18. Best crowd connection I ever experienced in person was the first of the Dragon Gate six mans in ROH, back in 2006 at the first Supercard of Honor
  19. Not an MOTYC or anything, but the mid-match transformation of Gulak to brutal grappler was fantastic and one of my favorite things I've seen in wrestling so far this year.
  20. Solid action and advanced the IC Title feud even though it was basically a night off for Suzuki and Tanahashi. The most interesting part of this match to me was the fan reaction to Elgin from a crowd that had a higher quota of foreigns
  21. Every time there's a Chaos/LIJ multi-man match you know what you're going to get in terms of energy and entertainment. I don't think that's a bad thing, because these matches always end up being entertaining to me.
  22. The 2017 results just confirm Meltzer and his core readers as an NJPW fanboy niche.
  23. I'm pretty behind on my 2018 wrestling watching, but I saw this the other day and wholeheartedly agree, it was a lot of fun. It feels like these challenge matches are less produced and micromanaged than so much of their other product, and it's allowing the natural charisma of some of the participants to shine through.
  24. the VOD is Sinclair era only, so far
