It's also a chicken and egg thing where of course they carry one particular wrestler's merchandise because well, it sells and you have to physically cart this stuff from arena to arena, store it, handle other logistics connected with keeping an inventory. You can't carry a bunch of Karl Anderson merchandise around for the sake of fairness.

I watched "The Founder" over the weekend and it struck me as a similar type of story. An incredibly driven business man who isn't an overtly evil person but is willing to roll over business associates to meet his goals. Plus, if you got Nick Offerman to play an NWA style promoter that would redeem the film by itself.

I can't say for certain, but modern boxing does utilize a warning buzzer for that purpose.

I think what it boils down to is that when you're on the road so much spending time away from your family and being busy the last thing you want to do in your free time is sit and watch more wrestling.
