AEW TV 12/27 - 12/30 Can Eddie finally slay the Dragon?
Blehschmidt replied to Jmare007's topic in AEW
If Swerve not winning the tournament leads to Swerve being the one to beat MJF for the title and Eddie Kingston getting a clean win over Moxley to claim all three titles, I will call Mox winning that 3 way a good decision. Otherwise ... Meh. -
I agree that no one was going to nail it 100%, but that guy literally put the emphasis on all the wrong words, had none of the cadence, and didn't even get the Woo right. It's like he didn't do a single bit of character study for the role.

Went and saw it this morning. Ignoring the Chris exclusion, other than the timeline being a bit wonky and the guy who played Flair obviously having never seen a Flair promo in his life, I thought it was really well done.

Blehschmidt replied to Timbo Slice's topic in AEW
I am starting to wonder if Wardlow isn't finishing out his contract, and they are building him back up quickly with this ref stoppage shit, so he can do a big job and be gone. He certainly couldn't look any less motivated. -

I know Storm was going over, but come on, only the top of Skye's head was touching the mat on the pin. Not a bit of shoulders anywhere!! -

If Swerve doesn't go over Moxley, then this whole thing has been pointless. -
I've been watching a lot of Stardom lately and really enjoying it, but I am having trouble understanding the "battle royal" rules that seem to pop up in some matches, but not all matches Like, I figured out during the Cinderella Tournament, that if you got thrown over the top rope and touched the floor, that counted as a loss But tonight I was watching a 3 way trios match, and about half way through, they all of a sudden started trying to pitch each other to the floor. Then some of the girls hit, and the bell rang, but other team members continued wrestling. So Yeah.... Can someone in the know please explain this part of the Stardom rule book to me!

They've done a good job in the trailers of not letting on how god damn depressing the story actually is. So, there is a good chance they may draw an unsuspecting audience of girls who grew up on High School Musical who are going simply to see Effron all muscled up and in his underwear.

WWE Survivor Series - War Games - 11/24 - What Do You See?
Blehschmidt replied to Timbo Slice's topic in WWE
Trump had zero political experience and hoodwinked millions into drinking his kool-aid, and a portion of them think he is some kind of god. So, I have zero doubt Rocky could smile and promo his way into get the votes of some people. -
After that match last night, if they let Gravity on television again, they are out of there minds.

WWE Survivor Series - War Games - 11/24 - What Do You See?
Blehschmidt replied to Timbo Slice's topic in WWE
To add to what I was saying earlier, I don't believe there has been a single one of these WWE/NXT War Games where they don't have every person or every other person bring some new variant of kendo stick/chair/trash can/table into the ring. They can't just let two rings surrounded by a cage be enough. Everything has to be an over the top, over produced spectacle. The concept of less is more is so lost on them it's unreal. -

I don't know whether it's a hot take or not, but I absolutely agree with you. Much llke everything else in wrestling, they took War Games and WWE'd it. It's over produced, totally homogenized, and lacks everything that made the match memorable in the first place. I know not all of the NWA/WCW War Games matches had the blood feud/grudge match vibe but when you watch 87, 89, 92, 94 and then compare it to this, it may as well not even be the same sport. Those felt like gritty fights between men that wanted to kill each other. These feel like what they are, highly choreographed, highly scripted acrobatics that now pass for wrestling. -

Much like the "What" chant, I really hope one day wrestling fans/crowds will get over the obsession with tables. We've seen a million of the damn things broken since Sabu made it a trend nearly 30 years ago. It would be amazing to move on -
I just finished reading Stephen King's 11/22/63 again, and learning that and seeing that is absolutely amazing. Thank You for posting it.

I see we've gone ahead and drafted Ms. Hayes anyway. So Beulah is now going to debut in 1989, when she shouldn't make regular appearances until 1995. BUT... because WrestlingData is an incomplete piece of shit website, Chick Donovan is going to retire in 1989, even though he is still wrestling in his 70's as we speak So Beulah is now going to debut in 1989, when she shouldn't make regular appearances until 1995. BUT... Magnum TA had to have his injury, Bruiser Brody had to die, and I couldn't ignore David Von Erich's death....because this game is about us trying to build a realistic world.... You all are going to ignore this anyway, but I am going to go ahead and say... this game is in dire need of a reboot, and this time around, less time needs to be spent worrying about when guys like Chick Donovan don't have ten matches in a year, and more time needs to be spent not allowing each other to try launching fucking ECW in 1988 or pushing attitude era guys 10 to 15 years too early.
