I know Chikara doesn't have a ton of supporters on this board, but there attention to detail continues to amaze me. Last night at their season finale, they paid off a 4 year old angle. In 2011, Eddie Kingston hit Archibald Peck with his Backfist to the Future, and Peck claimed it sent him to 2015 where he acquired a copy of the Chikara Yearbook, which supposedly gave him insight into upcoming matches. Since then the Archibald Peck character has "died" in Chikara continuity and so far as I know RD Evans has left the business. Last night at the Chikara show, Mike Quackenbush came to the ring with the first copy of the 2015 Chikara Yearbook, and announced it would soon go on sale. The lights went out, and when they came back on Peck was in the ring, grabbed the book from Quack and after looking at it and reading about his own demise, ran out of the arena, presumably never to be seen again (since he has to go back to 2011) I know it is silly, and I know it isn't everyone's cup of tea, but when WWE can't maintain story lines for a month, and they are paying off throw away angles from 4 years ago, I find it impressive.

Am I correct in remembering there was an angle where someone (maybe The Moondogs) tossed battery acid into his eyes and blinded him? I swear I remember that from an old PWI.

So I'm watching the USWA, and it brings me to a question I've meant to ask the historians/knowledgable folk here at PWO for some time. It would probably be better suited to the old "comments that don't warrant a thread" thread, but alas that is gone, so I will ask here. My Texas/Memphis exposure was limited to what I saw on ESPN as a child and read in Apter magazines, and while I have caught some stuff as an adult it was mostly the early Texas years, leaving me to ask this question.... Why the fuck was Eric Embry so over, and pushed as a top guy?
-
I hope they move the USWA into a category of it's own, and actually upload some Global as well. I need some Dark Patriot in my life.

So much for the creative team. He's getting an on-air role, and you just wrote his first angle.
-
Holy Shit, they added nearly all of 86 and 87 to the NWA section. Just a few random dates missing.

He apparently showed up at the AAW show in Chicago last night and attacked Eddie Kingston after the main event. Apart from that, he has made no announcements regarding what he is doing.
-
Maddox apparently said the word "Prick" in a dark match promo, which led to his release. This company is amazing.

I really like Sami as a worker, and he's a hell of a nice guy. I'm not sure what happened down there, but hopefully he can make some money heading back onto the indy circuit.

Rumor is that Sami Callihan/Solomon Crowe asked for and received his release from NXT.

Sorry, ruthless killers can't grant wishes or do anti-bullying commercials, so no room for ruthless killers around here.

I was more lambasting the fact that they most likely won't have a Survivor Series match on the Survivor Series PPV now. I just miss the old shows where it was a whole night of those matches, it was something different that set the show apart and made it feel special. But this is modern WWE, why be different and special when you can beat the same dead horse twice a week and once a month over and over.

Good thing we are getting this pesky Survivor Series match out of the way on the pre-show. Wouldn't want it taking up time on the Survivor Series pay per view.

Guys who made better action figures than wrestlers

This. All of This. (Even the, I know I am too old to be doing this, but fuck it I am doing it anyway part!!) Joe's and a Hasbro WWE ring pretty much define my childhood wrestling obsession. -
Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

Apparently Paragon Pro will be leaving the channel now. The show sucked, but at least it was a small level company getting a shot, and not The Little Company That Shouldn't continuing on...again. Wonder if Dixie took an Outlook Express class before they signed this deal? -
Wow. Charlotte was terrible in that segment, and bringing Reid's death into things was totally unnecessary.

Del Rio blew the handspring into the lungblower spot, then accidently tore Kallisto's mask clear off attempting a reverse superplex. Not a good sequence there!
-
I'm glad someone else finds TJ Perkins to be the most talented guy that you just can't bring yourself to give a shit about.
-
So, is everyone's prediction Reigns vs Del Rio and Ambrose vs Owens leading to a Reigns/Ambrose final where one of them turns and joins the Authority?
-
I know Punk isn't everyone's cup of tea, but this Twitter exchange got a legitimate chuckle out of me...
-
Ambrose/Reigns final, with Ambrose joining The Authority?

I am wondering If we are having a "Traditional Survivor Series match" 2 weeks before Survivor Series, just so that we don't have to have any "Traditional Survivor Series Matches" at Survivor Series. You know, because there won't be time on the PPV.

I really don't like any directions this can go..... 1) Reigns gets screwed by the Authority at SS, has to win the Rumble, gets the belt from Rollins at Mania, and the fans that have mostly stopped boo'ing him inevitably turn back against him during the build, you know, because. 2) Reigns gets screwed by Dean Ambrose at SS, the Ambrose heel turn fails miserably because the fans want to cheer him, Reigns gets boo'ed, everyone looks like shit. 3) Reigns beats Rollins at SS, Sheamus cashes in MITB, the champion has no heat, Reigns goes back on the chase, everyone looks like shit. 4) Rollins wins clean at Survivor Series, Reigns is dead in the water 5) Reigns finally wins at SS, gets boo'ed by half the crowd, again...because....then who the fuck wins the Rumble? I'm sure there are options that I am missing, but in my mind these seem most likely with WWE's typical way of booking.
