  1. So, I've been doing ring announcing here and there for local shows in my area for a couple years now, and recently got asked to do Play by Play commentary for a fed in the Pittsburgh area that is starting to gain a little bit of steam. My only previous commentary experience was for another local fed that never saw the light of day, and I worked heel color, so PBP was something totally new to me. I am going to post a link to one of our YouTube shows in hopes of getting some feedback from you guys, because in my time here I have learned tons from this board and really grown to respect the opinions of a lot of the people who post here. I know I have plenty of room for improvement, and I know the only way I will get better is by getting suggestions and constructive criticism from people who know what they are talking about. I figure with all of the years of wrestling watching and all of the different kinds of wrestling watched, what better place than here. So that you know which of the commentators is me, mine will be the first voice you hear after the intro to the show finishes. I go by Bob Anderson. This was only the second show I had done commentary on, so please don't savage me!! Also, I have no control over the booking or anything else involving the product, so while I am definitely also interested in hearing your thoughts on it as well, please know there is nothing I can do to change it! http://youtu.be/u6Nip7-Ez5Y Thanks! Edit: If someone could tell me the code for embedding the video, I will just stick it in this post. Thanks again.
  2. A few funny ones I enjoy... Also.....Holy Shit Beverly Brothers.....
  3. Current Favorite Wrestler to Watch: It's a tie..... either RD Evans. Whether he is RD Evans in ROH, Robert Evans in Olde Wrestling, or Archibald Peck in Chikara, he never fails to entertain me...... or Rusev. Hands down the most entertaining act in WWE right now. The highlight of every show he is on. Last Fun Match You Saw: The 10 man tag on Night 3 of this years Battle of Los Angeles. It won't be for everyone, but man I had a smile on my face the whole match. Wrestler You Want to See More of: Biff Busick. I had never seen him prior to watching BOLA, and his mixture of intensity with old style grappling was very interesting. Will definitely be seeking more of him out. Last Live Show Attended: I did live to DVD/MP4 commentary for VOW wrestling in the Pittsburgh area last weekend, I ring announce for a league here in West Virginia tomorrow (with Bobby Fulton and The Maestro on the show) and the last show I attended as a fan was an ROH TV taping at the end of September. Match You Are Looking Forward to Watching Soon the Most: Chikara just announced they are doing a Cibernetico at their season finale, those are always fun. Last Fun Interview/Promo You Saw: Been watching Will's Horseman comp, so too many Flair and Arn promo's to count that have had me entertained. Last Interesting Thing You Read about Wrestling: I dunno, probably something on this board! Last Worthwhile Wrestling Podcast You Heard: The last podcast I listened too was Johnny Saint on Cabana's podcast, so that has been a while. Most Fun You've Had Watching Wrestling Lately: A buddy of mine who hadn't watched wrestling since the Attitude era came around and I showed him some PWG, he was in awe of the Young Bucks superkicks, and the Chris Hero elbow strikes. Watching his reactions was awesome.
  4. That really sucks. Sami is a tremendously nice guy, a hard worker, and I was really hoping he would get a good run.

  8. For someone who was around for as long as he was, Van Hammer was the drizzling shits.
  9. I would second Mustafa of the Gangstas.
  10. This may be the best possible description of the ending to the pay per view I have seen anywhere on the internet.
  11. Is it remotely possible since we know they like trolling people now, that they are repeating the "mistakes" that were made with Daniel Bryan with Dean Ambrose on purpose? This way when we hit Royal Rumble and everyone "Batista's" Roman Reigns, they can either say "Fuck You, were doing it our way this time, look what happened with the last guy" or they can swerve us and give Ambrose the win to play the "Fuck You, we knew what we were doing all along" card. Just a thought.
  12. Helmsley was in the back going "look at the nose on that Komen broad"
  13. Bravo to the Bella twins. That was way better than I ever imagined it could be.
  14. I really enjoyed the shows. There were a few things that didn't work so well (AJ Styles/Curt Hawkins) and a few things that blew away expectations (the 10 man tag on night 3, ACH/Omega) but if you enjoy the product that PWG regularly puts out, you will like these shows.

Saw this elsewhere and thought it was pretty good.....
  17. I believe the comment was based on the fans booing the team of Gulak and Busick on night 2 of BOLA when they wrestled Fish and O'Reilly. Though I think the booing was based more on the CZW chants started by someone in the crowd than on the actual work of Gulak or Busick. The conversation just kind of spiraled out of control after that.
  18. It was night 2 of BOLA when Busick/Gulak took on ReDRagon. Some of the fans started a CZW chant during the ring introductions, and the rest of the crowd booed the shit out of it. I thought Busick was reasonably well liked during his night 1 appearance, and got invited back for the show that took place last night where he wrestled Ciampa.
  19. I picked up the first five or six shows on VHS and enjoyed them quite a bit. Finances stopped me from watching for a while but I got back into the company during Joe's run, the rise of Generation Next and was around for the summer of Punk, the James Gibson run, and the early stages of Danielson's run. I ended up checking out again for a while due to a general lack of interest in wrestling, but right around the time Nigel won the title, they started running near me so I started attending the shows and got back into the company again. Once the belt came off Nigel, the company really went down hill for me and then they stopped running near me a little while later, so I pretty much gave up on them. I moved a few years later and where I am now has the Sinclair show, so I started watching it, and I enjoy a few of the guys they have now so I watch off and on. I attended my first show since 2010 just a few weeks ago, which was the tv taping that is currently airing.
  20. Had it since day one. Don't use it nearly as much as I use too, but I figure NXT and the PPV's are worth it, and the occasional "hey what the hell, let's watch Slamboree 1995"

I am still of the mind that if they bring Daniel Bryan back before Wrestlemania, and he doesn't win the Rumble and go on to defeat Lesnar, the fans are going to turn against Roman Reigns. If they plan to run with Reigns, they should hold Bryan off until the Raw after Mania.

I also point to the fact that for the most part, Bryan and Ambrose have really ugly t-shirts.

Binged watched an entire month of NXT this evening, and man has Kenta looked less than impressive so far. I also love the Vaudevillains, way too much. Lastly, Enzo Amore is all around terrible.
