  1. RIP. I too was a bit baffled that he got lost in the shuffle during his WWF time. Loved the look. The stump puller is a a great finisher too.
  2. Have we even talked before how could i rib you if i have never met you well he may have been talking to me.
  3. Shodate, is that you? nope im new to this place I joined a while back Verified only under a day ago Welcome.

  5. Kayfabe version in my own head: In an Ironman match, best to submit early so as not to have too much damage done to whatever part is being worked on, hence quicker recovery time for the guy giving up the fall. Plus it gets the bad guy's submission hold over a bit, since it actually works on a top opponent for once. I always looked at a submission in a multiple fall match like that. They are rare rare events to happen to top end babyfaces in one fall matches. Martel submitting the AWA title to Hansen always come to my mind, and in the sense that the match itself is nothing special, it did the job of making it memorable outside of the title change portion. I've always been curious to the finish of Martel vs Hansen for the AWA title. Any insight why they booked Martel to submit to Hansen, khawk? Strange finish for a babyface. Was Martel done completely with Verne and the AWA after that night? I don't know that it was anything more complicated than it made sense with Hansen injuring Martel's back a week and a bit earlier. Martel wasn't around long in the AWA-proper after that with the back injury being a way to move him along so there is that as well (he did wrestle Hansen on 1/16/86 in Winnipeg on the Flair-Bock card, last AWA card in Winnipeg before Vince took the area). Another thing about it...It made Hansen's title win very noticeable for being different (as noted a pure submission in a North American ring for a world title was rare) and Hansen did cheat a bit with his head on the turnbuckle while he had Martel in the crab ostensibly preventing rick from escaping and ultimately having to give it up. Also of note, they ran a concurrent injury angle in Montreal with Jim Garvin doing the deed in a tag match. Hansen did come into Montreal and had at least one match with Rick in 1986 as well, Martel winning a non-title bout via pinfall. I don't think they had the rematch as promoted though, and if they did I have not seen a result.
  6. Especially after saying the post before that they should send the fans home happy. Lol
  7. Maybe a Time Machine can be constructed? I'd write the House of Lords and ask. Never know how they're spending your money these days...
  8. Am I wrong in assuming the end of Harts/Strike Force seemed hyped as a potential hidden gem all these years? Like it had gone on for a 15-30 minute classic after the show had gone off the air? And when you could finally see the pinfall, it was pretty much seconds after the last of the Main Event credits rolled. Or was it just complaining about seemingly lost forever footage, no matter how insignificant the length was, or complaining that the finish was never aired, despite not being a title change? Funny as long as I've been trading (which seems like forever), the end of that match not being available never came across my radar as being valued or important like other "lost treasures" have been mythologized over the years. Might just be me though.

  10. Are you sure cos I reff remember then releasing Bio vids like Jesse Ventura, Kurt Angle and many others. That was WWF Home Video, not Coliseum, which as Migs says died in 1997. Regardless if Home Video versions exist unedited they should show them. You should probably write your representative in the House of Lords and ask him to look into that.
  11. Decent price point on them? My choice of brand and speed is apparently no longer being made so I will be searching for an acceptable alternative once my current lot is used up.
  12. Maybe it's because I saw Zenk start out in the AWA and watched him as "Zenk" up until that point but I never put together what Z-man could sound like until I read this just now (and the connotation attached to it which also fits disturbingly well for him). Signed, "The guy that took the screen name 'khawk' as a homage to his favourite NHL team, as opposed to how it sounds if you say it quickly which he didn't realize until it was pointed out to him several years later..."
  13. That's nuts.
  14. Youtube is blocked for me at work (so frustrating) or I'd hit you with the MikeMcGirkoff one.
  15. "MikeMcGirkoff" has a similar channel if you are looking for WWF House shows, that one came up in my feed about the time Wrestling Collector went down.
  16. lol...
  17. He was a much bigger deal as a wrestler in MACW (and I think Florida too) in the 70's than he was in the 80's. I think most will remember his feud vs. Jimmy Valiant more than anything else. RIP.
  18. It could be as simple as there was a flaw in their blank master tape/reel that carried through the first part of that first match before correcting itself. I remember buying new vhs tapes that would occasionally have a fault in it. Never ealized there was a problem until I went back and checked the tape. It's possible they had the same problem that one time.
  19. Wow. That's a big one. RIP.

  23. It would be a solid move but I have my doubts that the WWE can be patient enough to let that build for a year. It wouldn't surprise me if Summerslam or the Survivor Series is as long as they could execute a build between the two without feeling they had to have the match happen. If they can do a full build to Mania that would be great, but I'm skeptical.

    My posts

Always tells me I've maxed out my quota for the day even when I haven't liked anything or have just logged in. Hard times indeed.
  25. I enjoyed the Fort Worth TV, I used to get it on KTVT on Saturday nights when I had the big dish.
