I think the first episode of World Class was in 1981

Thanks for the recommendation. Lately I've been listening to the interviews Bruno did with Meltzer and Alvarez from 2009 and they're pretty interesting. Although, between those, the recent Jericho interview and the JBL interview, there are a ton of repeat stories told almost identically. One aspect I've been wanting to hear him cover more is how involved he was in booking his feuds over the years and just general discussion about putting together matches and programs. I know the story is amazing, but we've all heard the WW II saga a million times. More insight into his time as a star in the 60s and 70s would be great

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard

It's all a work -
Yeah, that's a good point. A lot of beloved stars gone in less than a year. Hopefully the current crew can grow on the fans in the next few months

Watched 1/11/86 Boston last night and it is a really good show by the standards of the day in WWF. Santana vs Savage and Bruno/Orndorff vs Piper/Orton are both great and Funk vs Morales is pretty good

Crowds have been pretty dead for months now, which sucks considering the product has been very good over that period

Yes, it must have been the PWI deal on Pro Wrestling Plus -
Gordon Solie's Championship Wrestling Trivia

Wow! I remember seeing ads for that as a kid. I have faint memories of some show with Bill Apter as host (what was that???) and him shilling it on there. I totally remember the box art and how it made it seem like it would be an amazing game Edit: maybe it was Ed Whalen shilling it on Pro Wrestling Plus. That would make more sense, because I'm not sure what Apter show we got in Canada. But he did host a show of some kind, right? -
Is there any way to get the boards internal clock back to the correct time? It's been about 1 1/2 hours behind for a couple weeks. It's a pet peeve of mine

NXT has been really good post-Mania weekend (overall, as the Takeovers have always been strong, even during the September 2016-March 2017 lull) and Roode has been great in 2017 as the arrogant champ who keeps finding ways to eek out wins

I think it was more Anvil was going to be released due to legal issues, but after the SNME taping Vince was persuaded to keep him and not switch the belts. Still, it is kinda odd that the Rockers didn't get the belts from the Demos instead of going back to the Harts. The history of WWWF/WWF tag teams was pretty much a cycle of alternating between a fresh heel team and fresh face team with very few repeats, especially on the babyface side. Although them going back to the Demos multiple times had already broke that formula

Live Wrestling: What are you watching, what are you going to watch?
Ricky Jackson replied to Grimmas's topic in Pro Wrestling
Yep, great experience. It was appropriate that the simulation of an old territory that is NXT held a show in an old barn of arena in Vancouver that's over 50 years old. To add to the ambience, two idiot fans in the second row got into a violent confrontation with security and police just as the participants in the main event were coming to the ring. Never change, west coast Canadian wrestling fans. My favorite match was AOP vs Heavy Machinery. Big time hoss fight with the ring literally shifting multiple times. AOP seem fairly polished these days. Velveteen Dream vs Aleistar Black was also good, as they were given main event time and the crowd was hot for the match. And of course I got to see Asuka *swoon*. Awesome evening with a bunch of hardcore wrestling fan pals (including Shrike02) and easily one of my favorite live experiences ever -
Tag Teams Back Again Episode 22: Love and Rockers

Nah, "fuggin" was a R.Crumb expression from his old comix that I bust out from time to time -
Yeah, I probably couldn't win 5 straight Brainbusters these days lol

Tag Teams Back Again Episode 22: Love and Rockers

My life became annoyingly busy around December 2016 and I was also burned the fuck out on pods. Plan is to do a epic series finale, or perhaps only season finale (???) this summer. Thanks for all the praise guys! -
Just went back and realized I posted in this thread the first go round. I'm running out of material

Highlights of Mania 2 on the local sports news. I also have a memory of being intrigued by the VHS cover of Mania 1 in a video store before I ever saw wrestling

I think it's clever booking if Braun is out past Summerslam selling the ambulance injuries after defeating Reigns in the match, thus denying him a rightful shot against Brock. Reigns can get the Summerslam title match, presumably win the strap, and then have Braun as an uncrowned champion to challenge him post-Summerslam. It's far better than the easy route of having Reigns beat Braun and then challenge Brock. Now you have a heel who has defeated Reigns twice in a row ready for him after Summerslam. Throw in Wyatt, Cass, Joe and another Brock match and you have a decent sucession of challengers for Reigns to cruise into Mania for an epic showdown with Cena

Well the name is easy to remember that's for sure
-
Yeah, probably. But there are so many shows now that they all blur together and I can't even remember some of their names and what month they happened in. I know I've liked the last three Raw shows and Smackdown has been kinda hit and miss

Is it really a double turn when the guy supposedly turning heel has been booed out of the building for years now and the guy turning face has been getting face reactions all year? It's just more shades of grey stuff. Definitely a star making moment for Strowman though
-
"Here is your winner, Heath Slater" in the background while footage of the fire department attempting to extract Strowman from the ambulance was the funniest moment of the night
