  1. I like the look of wrestling in dress shirts, but I don't like the look of wrestling in jeans and t shirts or tank tops. Although I have to say I definitely preferred the gear that Erik Rowan and Luke Harper wore then they were in the Wyatt Family then the gear they wore when they were the Bludgeon Brothers. That gear was pretty ugly.
  2. I loved seeing Mean Gene in front of the monitors in the control room talking about what was going on in the WWF during his update segments. I remember Lord Hayes and Sean Mooney also did that but I really felt like whenever it was Mean Gene it felt more welcoming, like coming back home.
  3. Are there wrestling matches on the Being the Elite series on YouTube? I was under the assumption it was all just talking. If there are some good matches on it I might be interested in checking it out.
  4. I liked the Irwin R Shyster dress shirt in the ring look for his wrestling gear. And I loved it when they brought that style of gear back for Right To Censor. It is a great look for a heel if they want to be a heel the fans actually hate and not just a cool heel.
  5. Did anybody here end up watching Tribute to the Troops? How was it?
  6. I think he means the GWE list from a couple years ago. I think some people stopped posting either during after after that list.
  7. The Undertaker's Last Ride power bomb. Although I believe it was just mean to replace the tombstone, so when he went back to the Tombstone he no longer needed the Last Ride. Also, I think he stopped using his submission move, hasn't he? The Hells Gate or whatever its called.

    TLC 2018

I agree with this. Even if it was just another version of Ride of the Valkyries, the version he has now sounds too exciting and is too linked to his dramatic face run from a few years ago.
  9. I never saw him on TV growing up, as I didn't start watching wrestling until after he left WWF. I remember as a kid browsing the Coliseum Home Video section of my local video rental store and being surprised to learn that there used to be TWO British Bulldogs!
  10. I misspoke. It is at 11:30 PM ET on Game TV in Canada. I was mistaken as it is 12:30 in my local time zone. I was watching Game TV for impact in Canada before because it is a basic cable channel with my TV provider whereas Fight Network in Canada is a specialty channel that i need to pay extra for. However I just noticed Fight TV is on free preview right now so i get to watch this week's Impact at 11 my time.
  11. They actually just posted the Cody Aldis match on the NWA Youtube page. Except for the finish, I really liked it. The finish does not feel satisfying and feels out of left field, but until that point I had a lot of fun watching the match. I really liked Cornette's commentary. I hope he does more commentary now.
  12. In Canada they changed Impact's time slot earlier this fall on Game TV from 8 PM to like 12:30 AM Eastern which seems strange since I thought Impact was owned by a Canadian company now.
  13. I don't miss watching Raw or Smackdown. I don't miss the PPV's, or the documentary/reality tv original programming on the network. I don't even miss NXT. However, watching 80's wrestling in low quality video sourced from ancient taped-off-tv VHS tapes on Youtube for the last couple weeks make me really miss watching all the classic content on the Network. And I loved how all the full shows are sorted and in order on the Network. It made it so easy for, say, watching World Class from 1982 on, or going through the classic Coliseum Home Videos collection and checking out things that look interesting.
  14. What was that Raw in fall 97 where Foley debuted as Cactus Jack for the first time on Raw for some kind of Street Fight against Triple H. I seem to remember that being a great episode at the time, although I don't remember right now what else happened.
  15. Yeah I stopped listening to this show as well. Episodes are too long about things I am not interested in.
  16. I read some of the 60's Fantasic Four and X-Men that Lee wrote earlier this year, and it felt a lot better than a lot of other stuff going on in comics around that time. I think Kelly you should bring back Imaginary Stories for a one time Stan Lee special.
  17. Thank you guys for doing this fun series of Podcasts. I enjoyed it. I am interested in seeing what you are doing next.
  18. I really enjoyed this. Forgive me for my ignorance of 1979 wrestling, but is this match more indicative of the New Japan style of wrestling in 1979, or the NWA Hollywood style? If it is typical of what New Japan matches looked like in 1979, I may have to watch more of them. I like this match a lot more than the 1979 All Japan matches I have seen. There is a lot of action, some mat wrestling, and more of a feeling that these guys really want to hurt each other. At least if felt that way to me.
  19. I am surprised that Austin was already moving down the card in Fall 1999. My memories are always a bit hazy of what exactly the storylines in wrestling were in this period of 98-2001 because it seemed like there were heel and face turns and people jumping between companies every week. I remember being a fan with me and my friends at that time was less about reacting to booking and storylines, and more about just picking which wrestlers were your favorites and cheering them regardless of if they were heel or face or which show they were on. Actually, I feel like with most of WWE's crappy storylines and booking today, I am sure most current fans still just cheer their favorites regardless of what the storyline is supposed to be. I wonder if WCCW would have lasted longer if they had turned the Von Erich boys heel when business started to head downwards. I haven't watched much WCCW other than some of the 1982 stuff whenever I tried to follow along with the Ex-Titan Worldcast podcasts, but I feel like Johnny Sorrow made some really good points on that show about how some of the things the Von Erich's did looked, that could have been used for seeds for a heel turn.
  20. Was there any report on what the Attendance was for Crown Jewel?
  21. It's funny, I don't really follow the wrestling news now, other that what people post on this board. But I remember during the Monday Night Wars when I first went online I used to read a lot of these kind of wrestling news stories online. At the time, I always just took them at face value. But now, after listening to so many podcasts and reading so many shoot interviews and biographies, I read these and all I can think about is figuring out which wrestler it was who told that story to the newsletter writer.
  22. I wonder what would happen if one of the wrestlers there got on the mic to do a promo, and instead started criticizing the Saudi Arabia regime? Like not as a wrestling promo, but as a serious critical speech? Obviously they would cut his mic off and take the camera off him, but I wonder what would happen after that point? A firing? Suspension? Would the crowd boo the wrestler? Could you imagine if the crowd cheered for the wrestler, or booed the Saudi government instead? Would the whole multi year deal be cancelled? Would the Saudi authorities get involved with the wrestler directly and arrest him? I know it is not likely one of their wrestlers would decide to go off script like that, but I am just trying to imagine how everyone else would react in a what if scenario.
  23. I can't wait to listen to this. I love hearing you guys talk about 70's stuff.
  24. I liked both the Orton/Hardy match, and the Charlotte/Becky Match. There was some rough stuff in both of them, but both of them also did something interesting, Which may be a symptom of lowered expectations watching modern WWE.
  25. This was great as a kid. It was a moment where Hogan seemed like a real life hero that you could really believe in. Wrestling seemed more fun to me as a child, as I really was worried Hogan might lose or get hurt, and really wanted to see him win. I don't tend to feel those same kind of emotions watching wrestling as an adult except for maybe a few exceptions which are few and far between, and that makes wrestling over all a little less enjoyable for me. The promo itself is the best part of this. The angle at the end with Bravo, Earthquake, and Tugboat coming is a little disappointing as there is no actual violence shown here. I hope WWE uploads more episodes of Prime Time going into the summer of 1990, as it would be fun I think to see the week to week promos of Tugboat and Jimmy Hart discussing Hogan's injury and comeback leading into Summerslam.
