If you are looking for big bumps, high spots, fancy matwork and thigh slap happy strikes to the air, then look elsewhere. This is just to chubby, mean dudes punching each other in the mouth, elbowing each others foreheads and caving each other's heads in with nasty knee drops and stomps. Great wild bloody brawl.

Its a follow to the real life George Costanza -- Larry David playing a fictional version of himself. My wife feels the same way due to the high cringe levels of the situations Larry finds himself involved in.

I wasn't aware RE was WP. I got some Stampede tapes from him back in day -- he seemed like a nice guy. Reading some of the quotes in the other thread when goodhelmet announced RE's departure, yeah, he seemed like an interesting character. I remember him always praising Johnny Smith's work to me whenever we talked about Stampede, but I don't ever remember being blown away by his stuff back then. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hate the EPL/LaLiga comparisons. Isn't Notts the club that gave Juve their black and white stripes? My taste in my music changed the older I got. I used to be a scene kid and saw thousands of bands live -- Terror, Hatebreed, Billy Club Sandwich, Sworn Enemy, It Dies Today, Walls of Jericho, Soulfly, etc., but now I listen to all types of stuff -- blink-182, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Dashboard Confessional, Green Day, etc. It just depends on the day and my mood. How are you French and not a PSG fan? I'm going to be in Barcelona for Spain's World Cup opener against Portugal. I hope the Catalans get together to watch the game on a large screen TV or something so I can go watch with the locals given their independence political situation...

The Big Bang Theory? That show sucks -- has sucked for some years now. The first couple of seasons were good, but it went downhill quickly. What sports does everyone follow? I'm a massive football fan -- but a neutral. I'm going on vacation to Italy and Spain at the end of the month -- will be in Rome, Florence, Turin, Milan, Madrid, Seville, Valencia and Barcelona in a 2 week span. I'm visiting a ton of stadiums and museums, so I will hopefully find a club I can identify with to support.

Don't jump into the 90's, jump into the 80's first. The Gokuaku Domei vs. Crush Gals feud is must watch.

I'd say it'd be better off if it was an open topic deal where we could discuss anything -- i.e.; we can discuss anything that's not pro-wres (or politics) -- sports, movies, music, etc. as TTK mentioned. I'd also prefer if that was a private forum just for those registered (not password protected or anything) and those unregistered and/or with unaccepted accounts couldn't access, but that's just me.

Not sure what everyone thinks about MJF here, but his documentary by Kenny Johnson was released today: I'm a big fan of the guy, so I'm going to be giving this a watch shortly. Edit: Watched this. It's unbelievable. Must watch even if you aren't a fan of MJF.

RIZIN is the best pro wrestling company right now
Edwin replied to GOTNW's topic in Pro Wrestling Mostly
Anyone watching RIZIN 10? First intermission (4:39 AM EST): Most of the fights have been pretty forgettable. Kitai/Kurogi and Rozenstruik/Kovalev had their moments when they got wild, but not enough to really make them worth going out of your way to watch. Rozenstruik got a yellow card for greasing. Murata looked good. She got hit with an elbow during a takedown and her eye was almost closed shut, but she still managed to pull of an strong anaconda choke. I'm bummed Lyss lost, but she looked good against Hamasaki. She needs to work on her striking a lot, but her sprawls and sub defense are pretty good. Asakura vs. Kape has been FOTN so far. The first round was fireworks for the most part and both guys looked really good. Close fight that could have gone either way, but I thought based on the RIZIN judging criteria, Kape should have won. Far from a robbery however. -
Not sure what happened there, but he's booked for EVOLVE next month on the same cards with Ringkampf.

Tomorrow's MLW card isn't looking as good as previous cards: MLW World Title: Shane Strickland © vs. Pentagón Jr. Rey Fénix vs. ACH * Jeff Cobb vs. Jack Hager Santana Garrett vs. Chelsea Green MVP vs. Maxwell Jacob Friedman ** Joey Janela vs. TBD Tom Lawlor vs. Fred Yehi Jimmy Yuta, Jason Cade & Rhett Giddins vs. the Dirty Blondes & Mike Parrow Simon Gotch Prize Fight Challenge Barrington Hughes vs. TBD * Jack Hager was previously known as Jack Swagger in WWE ** Joey Janela was scheduled to face Brian Cage, but he was pulled from the card a couple of days ago for an unknown reason I'm personally looking forward to Lawlor/Yehi and Cobb/Hager.

Agreed + Liz. Agreed. + Sunny in the 90's of course. If the Karate Hottie was in the WWE and not the UFC, she'd easily be at the top of my list.

I honestly had no idea the DVDs were out of print. The audio on some of the entrances wasn't that bad near the mid to late 2000's when they had Danielson coming out to the Final Countdown and stuff, but then again, bad audio and Gabe Sapolsky run organizations usually have terrible audio -- past ROH, now EVOLVE.

No Almas/Gargano or Gargano/Ciampa? I thought Gage/Thatcher sucked and this is the first time I've ever seen anyone praise that six way from JJSB2. Not sure you've seen them yet or not, but WALTER/Thatcher from PROGRESS and Riddle/Ospreay from WWN SuperShow are indy MOTYC.
-
KO was holding back tears to the massive reaction he got.
-
I think maybe they just don't want to edit out the entrance music or something along those lines. Ripping DVD's and uploading the files isn't really that complex and shouldn't really take that long if you have a couple of people working on it together.

Read on DVDVR someone mention that someone from ROH said they will not be adding the pre-HDNet era stuff to Honor Club which means I'll never sign up. Their best years were before they aired on HDNet so it's a huge mistake to not add that stuff.

Fedor was starting to decline in that Rogers fight and was turning into more of a brawler instead of relying on his grappling like he did before in PRIDE. Yeah, I'm not sure how Chael will do due to the size difference. I agree, Chael's trash talking was more pro-wres oriented, meanwhile Conor is just endlessly bragging he has money and his opponents are poor which gets boring/old fast.

This is pretty great. Kader is from Morocco with a background in Greco-Roman Wrestling. Kader does a beautiful job of keeping up with Saint in the majority of grappling exchanges. He pulls off a great counter to Saint's stranglehold counter and a beautiful counter to a full nelson which leads into a face off. Saint usually gets a rep of being too exhibition-y, but I don't get that vibe from this match as the the majority of the exchanges seem gritty and the struggles are noticeable throughout the exchanges. Great match.

♫ We want the best of the best of the best. That feeling of heart beatin' out of our chest. ♫ ♫ We're not afraid of dreaming big. We're not afraid to bring the fight. ♫ ♫ Wanted the best of both worlds. And it starts here tonight. ♫ Fitting lyrics.

No matter how much I disagree with shodate -- I like him! He's clearly an insightful dude even if he gives threads odd spins at times.

Thanks! He looked great against Johnny Saint. He was able to keep up with Saint and even out grapple Saint in some exchanges and he was able to push the pace which offered some amazing sequences between them. Great stuff.
