Weren't Ascension worse when they had an intro where it looked like they hung out in Gotham City and were gay Batman villains? -
Yes, and then HHH could be Harley Race to Randy and Seth's Dick Slater and Bob Orton (hey!) I was thinking Paul Jones, Manny Fernandez, and Jimmy Valiant. Of course, I ALWAYS think about that.
-
I haven't seen RAW yet, but if they had had HHH offer a briefcase full of money to Seth, Seth appears to be turning it down only to clobber Ambrose with it, then it'd be awesome.

The problem wasn't weed though. Bourne was using that fake weed that's actually dangerous .

SEIG HEIL! (I kid, I kid)

For a guy who normally doesn't give a shit about women's matches, I really, really enjoyed Charlotte vs Nattie.

I'm digging Adam Rose's face Adrian Street mannerisms.
-
Heyman making fun of the Cole interview with Tyson and Natty was gold.

I'm guessing the joke I was trying to do stunk, as my point was to make fun of people using "slut" as a derogatory term. I blame myself, as apparently my delivery failed. It seemed rather obvious to me that I was going for an amazingly obvious joke on guys being dumb, but typing jokes is a crap shoot, no matter how fucking obvious they may be. -
Part two with James Storm is also fucking great. The two of them breaking down punches in wrestling is some seriously great shit.
-
The latest is part one with Bully Ray and it's fucking awesome. The talk about the TLC match from that Vegas RAW is fucking incredible, especially Jericho talking about how he yelled at Vince to go into the locker room and thank all the guys in the match, and how hurt they were, especially Bubba who had a crazy serious concussion. And then how pissed they were about how that show ended with the start of Katie Vick, cause all anyone would remember was that shit and not what they did.

The thing about the High Flyers stuff is the actual footage shows that they were super over and not getting booed or made fun of by the crowd . Again, maybe that's what Dave saw in Cali, but all the footage I've seen doesn't show anything like that.

I know this is just your usual wrestling fan tesosterone fueled banter, and no harm is meant, and this is a predominantly male board...but the levels of misogyny are pretty surprising and could be construed as offensive. Probably stood out because I came here from Tumblr, where these kind of sentences would be flagged down and ripped apart and condemned and used mercilessly by the huge feminist contingent on that site to prove that treating women as objects and branding them 'sluts' is alive and well. This board is better than that. Lighten up, Francis. It's just jokes. -

I'm nearly 44 and I like sluts. They're the best people. -
The lost "art" of being a fan who cheers for the bad guys is doing it kayfabe. Me and Wolfman didn't cheer bad guys to be "cool" back in the 80's, we actually liked a lot of the bad guys and we liked it when they'd cheat . For us there was no "smart" about it. Lol. Wolfman was more evil than me, I always cheered Valiant, Dusty, and Magnum But it was also having fun and immersing ourselves in the show . We were these two weirdos cheering cheating, it was fun.

Francine looked like she could suck a golf ball through a garden hose, worked for me. -
I liked Bill Mercer because he had a great voice for what he was doing. As mentioned, he was not a great match announcer, but his show wrap arounds were always good.

I'm not so sure of this. Mike Quackenbush said they had interest in Reckless Youth and himself but they declined joining ECW because of the drug culture in the back. A lot of those newer indy guys might have passed on working there for similar reasons. I wouldn't believe anything Quack said. Yeah, I don't buy "I wouldn't work somewhere because people do drugs backstage" at all . If that was true there'd be no promotion these guys would work for. It's not like working in ECW had a caveat where you had to participate in getting fucked up to work there.

What exactly does "athleticism" even mean?

The James Storm interview is fucking great.

Big ups to Kelly for the killer sweet Superman photoshop. I laugh everytime I see it. -
I think there are a couple of levels. One is that people do follow things on a business level. The other is something you can appreciate a bit more and that's build and payoff. Why do Austin vs Brock on a random Raw when you can spend weeks building up to it on PPV. I think most people would be fine if you spent weeks building up to it and making it matter for a well-hyped Raw. Sort of like the NXT specials, but it means less if you just toss it on TV without build. The problem with Austin/ Brock was that there was no build. What Im talking about is people actually complaining about seeing cool matches for free. It's silly.

Why do some fans complain about them "giving away money matches on TV"? What's it to you?
