The funny thing about Cody on the mic is back in 2007, when he inducted Dusty into the hall of fame. After that speech everyone was saying how great he was on the mic, a natural you might say. Then the WWE got there hooks into him and all that natural charisma on the mic went away. Funny when he leaves the WWE, everyone starts talking about how great he is again.

Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff named to Executive Positions in WWE
ragemaster replied to Stiva's topic in WWE
The problem is Vince, he did the same thing with Bill watts and Bill quit when Vince couldn't give up control and leave him to do his job. There's a view that the 40 script writers are what the issue is with WWE, if you just had one booker or maybe 3 people in a room things would improve. The problem with that idea is we don't know what kind of shows or how watchable WWE would be if Vince just left the writers to do their jobs. It be interesting if he took just three months away and let the writers develop there own idea and story's, just to see what the product ending up looking like. Going to be no different with Eric and Heyman as long as Vince is alive and over seeing everything. -
Having never seen Sonny Kiss before Double or Nothing, I too would have classed him as a transvestite. He's wrestling in woman attire with makeup. That is the definition of a transvestite, as I understand it. But that's growing up in Britain, watching people like Eddie Lizard Who do identifies themselves as transvestite/transgender. He doesn't always fully dress as a woman but will wear make up and wear nail polish. I never put a negative connotation on the word before, I know some people use it in a negative way, like a homophobic would with the word gay. But I put that down to the person using the word and not the word itself. Its just a word to describe someone who cross dresses Now I know its classed in todays society in a negative connotation, I wouldn't refer to someone who cross dresses as a transvestite. Not that I ever did use it in the first place, would have used cross dresser (is cross dressing the correct term?) Or androgynous for Sonny Kiss, I'm thinking? I found this quote from Sonny Kiss online I’m just a guy who is feminine, obviously, it’s very apparent. But at the same time, I’m just a wrestler and I’m not a ‘gimmick.’ I’m just this flamboyant, athletic, flipping dude…dude or dudette, however you see it because I’m very ambiguous with my sexuality and gender. I call myself a male but I identify as gender-neutral to the public." Still not sure how he identifies himself, but guessing the idea is to not have labels and just be accepted for who he is. I'm a 43 Straight guy, who regularly to gay bars/clubs with my gay friends on nights out, as gay bars usually have a more relaxed atmosphere. Have been there when two friends who started their journey in to transgender one female and one was male. But I still can't keep up with all the different names people have/come up with to describe their gender/sexuality. I've had conversations with gay men and women on nights out and they find all the different verbiage in the LGBT community hard to keep up with. "you bisexual, no I'm pansexual Pansexuality, or omnisexuality, is the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others. Pansexual Still sounds bisexual to me, just in a more pretentious way of saying it. But if it makes someone happy to have there own word to describe themselves then I would call them pansexual. How do you expect Jim Cornette to know if he's using the right terminology to describe someone. shouldn't it just be a case of "please can you not use that word because it offends me for these reasons." Then judge him if he ignores those reasons and carry on using the word. Doubt he has much contact with the LGBTQ+ community Maybe the commentators should of done a better job of explaining how Sonny identifies himself and informed the audience. As I'm guessing for a large percent of them would have viewed Sonny as a transvestite and would need to be educated on how he views himself. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47691888 This is a good interview on this type of issue, It does make me laugh when people online quickly judge someone for thier actions, they end up sounding just as bigoted as the person they are attacking.

"He talks quite positively about Nyla Rose and never once even references the fact that she is transgender." Does Jim Cornette know Nyla Rose is transgender?

I agree with the sentiment, but who's out there, who's a free agent who can be pushed to the top of the card? Maybe they just haven't done a good job recruiting, but I can't name anyone who fits what you looking for. The only next black breakout superstar I can name is Velveteen dream and he's signed to the WWE. But 100% they need to find and push some black wrestling superstar's, but you need to find them first. Obviously black wrestlers haven't been treated fairly or pushed over the years, which means if your black and a good athlete wrestling probably not going to be your first carrier choice. Hopefully that's going to change and more high level wrestlers will come along, but they just not many out there at the moment who are not already under contract.

Tried the above with no joy, anyone managed to do this?

I'm In the UK only £15, so it's a much more attractive price point to try out. Hoping there's no sound/video issues with the show, as they need to prove they up to WWE production level. Not sure why so much negativity to this show, if this promotion succeeds its the best thing for wrestling and the wrestlers. You don't even have to like its content, its not just aimed at 40plus year old fans reminiscing over 80's wrestling. It needs a new fan base/generation of fans, getting 14 to 20 year olds thinking its the new cool thing is the key to its short term future. I'm going in with an open mind, hoping I see something unique and different, I don't expect to like all of. I'm 43 so I'm sure some of it will have me rolling my eyes, thinking WTF. But as long as it makes sense and doesn't insult my intelligence, I think it will make a refreshing change to the WWE. Also hoping the commentator team have practised together before hand, as that might be the most impotent aspect to get right for this show.

Yep its a sleazy story alright, I think passing the girls around the room could be construed as rapey. Also even if the girl said yes to the piss, he made it clear she wanted to stop, everyone in the room comes across as sleazy.
-
Can you add where this story came from? is this hearsay or something with more proof? Did you hear him say this to you, or has he put this out online himself?
-
The thing I heard about it is he told the woman involved to go to the police, which she refused to do. At that point I'm not sure what he's suppose to do, fire and stop using the guy on her word? Its a little wrestling promotion, doubt he has a HR department to investigate such things. Does he take the guy aside and say I hear you raped so and so, did You? The guy says no, OK um who do you believe, does he go to the police on her behalf even though she doesn't want the police involved? Not sure if any of us on here would have handled it any better than Elgin did at the time. Is there more to this story I'm missing?

Becky VS Charlotte Fastlane, Ronda's interferes and sets up a three way ladder match at Mania for the vacant belt I'm guessing.

Lesser known or remembered wrestling matches that turned into shoots
ragemaster replied to SPS's topic in Pro Wrestling
Just listened to Pacific Rim and one of the questions was about a shoot match between Antonio Inoki and Pak Song-Nam. Fumi says he doesn't think a shoot happened between them, from his own research. But I'm curious to what the story is, as I've never heard it before and can't find out anything online about it. -
An forearm to the back of the head seems more dangerous than a chair, as you can't get your hands up to protect yourself. Guessing Ospreay was trying to slide it across the head but misjudged it. I do think the ref should have called the match off and stopped Ospreay from doing anything more at that point. Or at least Ospreay could of just covered him, rather than do more impact to the guy.
-
After all the Liv Morgan/Brie Bella concussion controversy, Surprised not heard anything over the Ibushi vs Ospreay match. Hard to know if it came earlier in the match, but if it was the ending with that forearm to the back of the head which knocked him out. Be interesting if Ospreay gets anything like the same heat Bri did, or the referee for not calling the match off.

I think Manami Toyota might be the answer.

WWE TV 11/19 - 11/25 Justice for SmackDown tag teams
ragemaster replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I'm 42 and still say and do dumb Shit all the time, but I do stay away from racist jokes as I find them deplorable. My humour on a night out with friends would probably offend a lot of people on here. But I'm sensible not to post it online, as if I do offend a friend or misjudge the tone of a joke I can apologize in the moment. We can then move on with our life's, as I'm not trying to offend them just make them laugh. 10 years ago nobody knew how the world was shaping or changing, just look at James Gunn. Now we judge everyone and are looking to end carers because we get offended by anything and everything. Lots of people got caught out not knowing that what they put out there was forever and not just for that week/month. (not saying its right to put it out there) I'm not the same person from 5 years ago, my views change all the time. If I look back at some of my own posts on here, it doesn't mean I still hold those views from even a month ago. People are complex and there is no black and white, we live in a world of grey. One day you might give to the homeless because you can emphasize with their plight. The next day your like, fuck you, you lazy fucker get a job I work hard for my money. In fact I put money on it that everyone one on this board has either said something derogatory about a women/mans looks, fat shaming, immigrants taking our jobs, homophobic and so on. Probably also said something much more hurtful to an ex-partner/ family member than what Lars wrote online. I'm not excusing what he wrote, but this isn't on the level of Hogan, AJ, or Hayes . If newer stuff surfaces I join in with the pitchforks, but until then I don't really see this as major issue or news story. -
WWE TV 11/19 - 11/25 Justice for SmackDown tag teams
ragemaster replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Weird he's calling out a guy for being racist, then ends up being the racist. But he was a 21 kid at the time he posted them, not excusing what he said. Just not sure I like a world when if you do or say something stupid that's it, your marked for life. I'm guessing everyone on this board has done or said something they not proud off, in an argument or drunk. If this posts were from last year I be more on his case, but unless there's more stuff surfacing, I say give him a break and move on. Hopefully it was just a misjudgement with a joke and he was trying to be funny with his reply (not that I found it funny) -

I can see if they keep trying to use Romans Reigns leukaemia as heat, its going to back fire on them. Guessing by the time/if he returns, the fans will take it out on him, like they did with Bryan, just because of the poor taste of it all. Not so sure he's going to be the big babyface he should, if he does indeed win his fight. -
This is what happens when you refuse to go to Crown Jewel
-
The German suplex is solely on the person giving the move, as it can also be given as a shoot. Even without seeing it I would still say if the girl landed on Becky head, trained or not its Becky's fault.

I asked this back in 2012 on Big Daddy, but had no joy in finding out any more info on his early career. The wrestling heritage site make’s reference to Shirley Crabtree early career, where he wrestled as the blond Adonis, Mr universe, Yukon Eric, and the Battling Guardsman. He was also the independent promoters British heavyweight Champion in the early 1960’s. I cant find any more info on his early career, but it look’s like he had two runs in wrestling. It may help his case if we could find more info on his first run. Don't know if any more information has come to light on this?

For the record I haven't stopped watching the WWE nor do I plan to stop anytime soon. But that's because I don't watch raw or smackdown, only highlights of the show. (can't watch a whole show) I only watch the big shows on tape delay, so I can fast-forwarded though them. I don't feel that strongly about it or I would have stopped watching long before now. Don't watch indy's, not sure where that came from? I just WWE, NJPW and some stuff from Mexico. I do get the outrage about this issue, but when the WWE business practices have never been moral to begin with. Why are people surprised by it, do you really expect anything better? I guess I just don't know why this crossed the line for people, when they done far worse over the years.
-
Sorry I don't begrudge you decision, it sounds like a fair and good thing to do. It highlights your distaste on this one issue and then you can go back and watch your wrestlers being exploited with a clear conscience afterwards.
-
What I'm pointing out is the Wwe has a terrible history of human rights on its own workers, which are well documented. But it takes one non wrestlers death for you to think its crossed the line. Yes you can stop at anytime, but after how they handled Owens death, the fall out of the Benoît situation. Not to mention all the drug overdoses, chair shots and just vile working conditions they put there workers through over the years. The gulf war stuff, plus forcing/pressuring their workers to go to a war zone to entertain the troops. People can point out that how they cleaned up after Eddie death, but the way they looked the other way with Brock. Or still push people with a certain look shows that they still the same company, if you can beat the tests we look the other way. Or in brock case we just ignore it when a drug test comes back form a different company. While if this is the straw that broke the camel back and makes you stop watching, good for you. But it does feels a little too late and hypocritical for this to be the hill to fall on your sword. Just says you don't value the welfare of the wrestlers who entertain you very much.
