WWE TV 09/13 - 09/19 NXT 2.0 debut and Monday Night Football massacre
ragemaster replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
I'm happy Big E and his fans got this moment, but lets be honest in 2 to 3 months, maybe even weeks, he be back to mid card. Which unless he steps up to the plate and shows something new, is where he properly belongs. But with WWE booking behind him, he won't be booked as a world champion level wrestler and will come out on Monday and cut the same goofy new day WWE promo he's always cut. Hell even his win for the title was week as shit, so that shows you they not invested in him to begin with. I have no problem with Big E been giving a chance at the top, but build him up and push him like a top star for at least 4 months first, ideally at least 6 to 8 months. Then when he wins, it means something and he have those months to learn/see if he can be a main event wrestler before he gets the belt. -
It's funny but I remember back in the day, it was about 1994 when Austin was being talked about being the guy to carry WCW by the smart mags and newsletters. It may have been Powerslam in the UK, who compared him to Shawn Michaels and said they were going to be the best wrestlers in each promotion going into the rest of the decade. So in 93/94 he was already been held in high regard by most insiders

Not sure what the issue is with Cage height, he's taller than Big E and has a better body to boot. Sure Vince would love to have him, for about the 3 weeks it takes him to lose interest with his latest toy.

I love the Dustin love, but there was loads of missed spots in that match last night, if that happened in a Jericho match, you guys all be over it like a rash. Dustin definitely has the rose-coloured glasses syndrome going on here.
-
Anyone else think John sliver could be huge if they gave him a Jushin Liger like gimmick. He awesome in the ring, but his looks unfortunately hold him back from the main event level.

The only reason Jericho never became a bigger star in the early 2000's is because of the bad booking and HHH cutting his knees out from out of him in their programs. Same thing that has happened to, you can name 50 people over the last 20 years who wasn't as big as they should have been because Vince never fully invested/gave up/bad booking. It is funny, I can remember the Shawn Michaels feud and all the criticisms Jericho gets now was aimed at Michaels. Jericho was a favourite on this board, viewed as a supper worker having to carry a can't work, pass his prime Shawn Michaels. I don't think the match at All out was a classic, but as a match everything worked for the story they was telling and the end was well done. Didn't see any mistakes or bad wrestling in it, yes Jericho slower than even 2 years ago. But he's 50 year's old having worked for 30 years, He's over with the crowd, he can still cut an great interview and can help get people over. Plus lets not dismiss his impact on how important he has been to AEW since it started. Should he be moved out of the top of the card yes, but he can still be effective with the right person in a main event slot once or twice a year.

Love punk's 123 kid/ Bret hart look on his face, on that arm drag

I think its not having territories and having the car trips like in the past, working with the good veterans who will pass that knowledge on early in your carer. As for most training schools, you get shown moves or spots and then you tend to practice with the friends you made at the school and come up with your own matches. When you get to wrestle on shows, you normally only told who wins and to go out there for 10 mins, you learn it yourself as you go along. After the matches, feedback is rare, as you packing up the ring and off to get food. Plus you just wrestled your friend, so you both blowing smoke up each other and talking about how great your match was lol If your lucky you get to work with a veteran who will help you, but when your young you already know it all in your head and you don't tend to ask for help. Plus you look at older wrestlers as past it and not doing the style you want to do yourself.

Listen to the Will Ospreay on Booker T show, he tells a story about wrestling Shibata and that's when he understood its about the sellof the moves and not just the moves of the match.
-
I will point out that there's working stiff and just kicking people in the head, I love AJW but it was never safe stiff. I do wonder if there will be a higher cases of alzheimer's for the AJW women because of the style they worked. But yeah, Jaxx does need sacking or sent back to the development school. But if sacked I'm guessing AEW pick her up, so that's not the best choice.

As for black wrestlers in AEW, nobody ready for the top spot at the moment. In 3 years I think we can get a better picture and hopefully see where people have grown to as performers. Unless there's a hidden talent on the indie's, I don't know who you put in that spot. But to call the race card is ignorant, as I think AEW has down the best with the talent available. Hobbs is no where near ready and if I'm honest, I don't see a main event future for him. But I still give him 3 years and see how he develops, I wouldn't write him off just yet. Ricky Starks in the next 9 months I see him getting pushed more up to the top of the card. Anthony Ogogo, Dante Martin in 3 years could be top players for the company Scorpio mid card at the moment and don't see him going that much higher Jade Cargill it's about 18 months before she's ready, but wouldn't surprise me if she gets there much quicker. Should be the top woman just on charisma, may end up as the next rock The acclaimed/private party could be huge in 2 years Sonny Kiss, unfortunately has a celling at the moment because of the gimmick Lee Johnson not ready I would say in 2 years we know more about him Red velvet and Big Swole, time will tell Nyla rose did her job when AEW started, but not who I put the title back on But yes they do need to recruit more now, so we have a more diverse main event in the next 3 to 5 years

Aren't Cody and Brandi just doing a prince Harry and Meghan gimmick

I think if you watch the Riddle Orton and the Mysterio's match, it highlights why no new people ever get over to the level they should in the WWE. Both matches were built around Showcasing the older stars and not putting the younger guys at the same level as them. Both Riddle and Dominick were used to set up and give the older guys the big pop for their stuff in the match. I know they doing a break up gimmick with Dominick and Ray, but he could have been used so much better in the match and not as someone who didn't belong tagging with his father.

WALTER vs. Ilja Dragunov I loved it, but I do think the crowd hurt the end a bit, as they did not buy Walter was in trouble. Hurt the heat at the end, I think people were just waiting for Walter to kill llja and that stopped the crowd thinking Walter was going to tap at any stage of the match.

From a business point of view, they should announce he's going to be there on the Friday, to get as many new eyeballs on the product. Not sure if it's possible but I would have ran adverts during Raw breaks to promote him on Rampage. But from a fan's point of view, I love the fact you got the anticipation and not knowing what's going to happing on the night. Maybe it's a swerve and Bryan Danielson turns up instead lol

I think you guys are over thinking the Brock/Ambrose match, Brock was coming back to the UFC that year. He just wanted a easy payday for mania, before he went back into training for his fight. He just didn't tell Ambrose the reason why he wasn't invested in that match. Even if Brock was best friends with Ambrose, he wasn't going to put his body at risk for the UFC payday. As he was still negotiating and wanted to keep the information private, he just blew Ambrose off rather than tell him the reasons why he was taking an easy night on wrestlemania.

The only thing i would say in defence of Andeade, is he's had like two matches so far. I do think Dave been very fast on commenting on how he's half assing it since he's left the WWE.

I’m glad to hear that Keith Lee is healthy and well again, hopefully there is no more long term heath issues from covid for him going forward But this does highlight how inept WWE is with anything handed to them from real life. You think they do a video about three weeks back on Raw, a month before he returned and build it up big, WWE superstar fights to get back into WWE ring from near death illness. Have his first match back on Summerslam, after showing some training video’s, make it real doing some sit down at home videos with him and Mia Yim.This stuff is so easy to do, it's crazy how they lost the knowledge/will to get people over at this point

The Jim Cornette Experience
ragemaster replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Cornette problem is he can't see how similar he and the midnight express are to today’s wrestling. They were the work horse of their day and did things which would piss off a lot of the older wrestlers. When Dave points out this, or compares the midnight Expess to the Young bucks he can't see it and takes it as an insult, rather than it's Dave giving a complement. Cornette says they would try stuff out on the house shows and if the people popped they bring it to TV, no different than Orange Cassidy making the people pop with his stuff. How is what Orange Cassidy doing any more unbelievable than Cornette CPR schick at ringside, to get a reaction from the crowd. If you listen to Dave radio show, he’s always made a point to follow the trends of wresting and where it's going, he reports it for today fans and not fans from 30 years ago, as they probably not watching now, as wrestling evolves and changes. -
Deathmatch Wrestling: How much is Too Much?
ragemaster replied to KawadaSmile's topic in Pro Wrestling
As a wrestler i rather take a blade across the stomach, than thatJon Moxley chokeslam bump onto the back of two chairs a couple of weeks back. In fact unless you unucky and catch a major artery, much safer and does less damage than most wrestling you see. As an art form it's not what i enjoy and i'm more worried by glass spots, as you are more likey to lose an eye. -
WWE TV 7/5 - 7/11 I guess no one watched Raw last night
ragemaster replied to NintendoLogic's topic in WWE
I think Dave biggest issue is he skirts around the issue, instead of just coming out and saying what he means. If he had just said there's pressure for woman in the WWE to look a certin way and its a shame Peyton Royce had breast augmentation to fit into that image of what the WWE expect or want the women to look like. He might still have been cruified, as Peyton could have had said it was her body and her choice and not the WWE on her to have the surgery. Same thing happened with charlotte But the point is that the WWE has and always have been a sexist company. Unfortunately whenever issues are pointed out, the women involved defend the comany and call out sexist or misogynistic to the person who dares criticise the company. Like Zelina using the line "degrading women in the busines for no reason" in her tweet. Trying to turn it into dave's a sexist and he has no right to defend himself or his work. -

(3) WWF Championship Match: HBK vs BRET HART vs SYCHO SID - YouTube -
I've never been a fan of Mark Henry in ring work and he's only done one great interview in his whole career which in farness was a classic. But after listening to the interview with Steve Austin, I did become a big fan of the man himself and can now understand why he stayed in the WWE for so long. As guessing the way he talks backstage and carries himself as a person makes him very well liked there. If they could have tapped into that Mark Henry for his baby face run, he would have been a huge star. The only worrying thing is the Lacey Von Erich story that's going around, not sure if he's going to gel in the AEW locker room. He may have too many old school sensibilities to work well with the modern mindset.

Was the dick pics ever proven, as why he wasn't arrested and charged if it's true. Seems a very easy case to make, if the kids have pics on their phone from him.

WWE TV 05/03 - 05/09 Big Roman made little Bryan humble.
ragemaster replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Think it was reported or Bryan said in a interview Brie was responsible for Bryan signing with the WWE last time. Guessing she will have a major influence on him this time too. Plus the Bella's are wanting back in the WWE at the moment, so would be surprised if he does leave and go elsewhere.
