  1. My five-year-old daughter is a HUGE Nakamura fan. She was watching the show with me, but fell asleep before Baley/Asuka. She's going to be so excited when she watches the main event tomorrow! Great show. That tag title match was probably the best thing on it. The Revival are so good at leading you down one path that you think the match is going to go and then switching it up. They stay true to the "Southern Tag" format, but mix in enough interesting twists on it, that it's new and original.
  2. Man, I love IWA-Mid South. Sure, it's scummy as all hell (it's pro wrestling, it should be!), but they've had periods with in-ring action as good as any company in the world. The mid-aughts was probably their high-point, but before and after had/have their fair share of awesome stuff.
  3. Or is it just that other sports are more fake now?
  4. Current favorite wrestler to watch: Probably Zack Sabre Jr. Him or AJ Styles. I'm coming back into the indie scene in the last few months. Sabre's the guy I've been most impressed with. AJ's been great for a while, but I've slept on him. Seeing him in some more high-profile stuff now is fun. Last fun match you saw: A Sabre/Chris Hero match from last year in PWG. Hero had a cut on his hand from some random accident. Sabre works it in some really gross ways. Blood starts dripping from Hero's hand and it's on from there. Wrestler you want to see more of: Fred Yehi or Matt Riddle. Very excited for where these two will go in the next couple of years. Last live show attended (if applicable/different from last time you answered): I went to an NXT house show last month here in Louisville. Had some great seats and a lot to drink before the show. I had so much fun with some new people from work that I hadn't hung out with before. Fun show, as well. Match you're most looking forward to watching: I don't know. I'm looking forward to seeing this year's SCI. I bought last year's and I'm very slowly working my way through it. Last fun interview/promo you saw: I've been loving Samoa Joe's promos in NXT lately. Glad to see him have this revitalization. He's been booked very well so far in NXT. Last interesting thing you read about wrestling: Probably a post here! I love some of the history threads that get going here. Even random asides can lead to something interesting. Last worthwhile podcast you listened to: I don't really listen, but I watched Styles on Stone Cold's podcast on the Network. Good stuff. It made me like him and he'd been a guy I previously thought I wouldn't like personally. Most fun you've had watching wrestling lately: That NXT show I went to. I paid for it with a nice hangover the next day, though. Favorite recent post on this board: I'd have to look around a bit. Favorite thing about the wrestling landscape in the past three months (if you live in the past, then go with your past three months of time-traveling): The CWC. It's exposed myself (and I'm sure a lot of other fans, too) to a bunch of guys I might not have seen. That, and NXT and Lucha Underground being really fun, episodic wrestling shows that have great action and make sense! It's fun having weekly wrestling that I actually want to watch every week.

    NXT talk

Agreed ^. Have they ever said what the hell TM61 stands for? Also, I can't believe that NXT operates on the old territory rule of putting people over on the way out. Was not expecting Mojo to take a beat down on his send off.
  6. I think it'd be best to just skip that week. There's really no need to do anything else.
  7. Is this considered an NXT thing or it's own deal? I'm just curious since I don't subscribe to the Network. I just watch NXT on Hulu.
  8. I got no beef with country music. It's the endless number of awards shows they have for it.
  9. If it's true that she was intoxicated during the CMA Awards last week To be fair, no one should be forced to sit through a country music awards show sober.
  10. Having worked in news in Louisville for 11 years, I've been fortunate enough to see Ali in person quite a few times. It's always impressive. You sometimes forget that he is possibly the most famous athlete ever. I got to edit my station's tribute to Ali. I'm very proud of this... http://www.wdrb.com/clip/12484144/remembering-a-legend-the-life-of-heavyweight-champion-muhammad-ali
  11. I'm an album guy, but I do love a good mixtape.
  12. Did you all know that NXT is on Hulu? Takeover specials, too. They also have like 90 minute versions of Raw. It's just a way to see it without directly giving WWE your money via the network.
  13. Shawn Michaels, post-Rockers. I blame him for wrestling turning from, "I want to be the champion/I want to hurt people" to "I want to go out and put on a great show for the fans". Barf.
  14. "1st Annual" - NOOOOOOOOOO!
  15. I've always loved the exaggerated weight of the STEEL steps. I think JR used to claim they weighed 300 pounds!

    WrestleMania 32

I got a little excited with the prospect of Trav's card up there. Then I saw the actual plan... Jesus.
  17. WWE will get their shit together for a while and I'll get sucked back in to watching only to lose interest after things inevitably get shitty again.

  19. Really, though, haven't all of the most popular times in pro wrestling been when a fed has a dominant babyface? Hogan, Austin, Von Erichs, etc? NWA/WCW fell on hard times twice by never letting their faces really get one over on the heels. I know that, as a kid, I was drawn to the WWF initially because their champ beat all comers. Later, I came to love Crockett more. I just feel like kids, especially, are drawn to a dominant face.
  20. Yeah, the news business does that crap a lot, too. It's a great way to condition people to accept shitty pay, bad hours, bad conditions, etc. as okay since you're part of "something bigger".
  21. Man, you're gonna be busy on January 4th.
  22. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!?!?!?
  23. Wrestlers who have another occupation is another Vince staple. (TL Hopper, The Goon, Val Venis, The Godfather, Isaac Yankem, etc.)
  24. Benicio del Toro is a terrible bumper.
