TonyPulis'Cap
Randomly managed to catch an excellent documentary on Jack Gallagher this week on a channel that you get in the UK called Free Sports called an Extraordinary Gentlemen. It traces Gallagher's development up to his signing with the WWE, and while it doesn't include any WWE input or clips (which can often be a pro when it comes to making a wrestling documentary more open) it's really well put together with clips from Future Shock wrestling and Progress and lots of excellent talking head contributions. In it Gallagher comes across so well, and a guy totally at ease with the way that he sees the wrestling business, his role in it and life in general. I'd heartily recommend catching it if you can find it, the only slightly depressing thing being you feel that since he turned heel, that WWE is really not utilising him as well as they could. He really seemed to be getting traction as a face and managed to get over, which for someone on 205 Live is an achievement in itself. His match with Neville for the title at Fastlane was one of my favourites of 2017. Here's a trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3V19KHGd3U For those in the UK, I'm not sure if Free Sports will replay it but keep an eye out, and here's a link for where you can watch it on Vimeo: https://www.figurefourfilms.com/an-extraordinary-gentleman.html

Edit: That's even better than Duggan at the Preds game last year. Side note, I really really wish DeAngelo Williams would get into wrestling. He was really good when he wrestled that match for TNA last year.

Laz
I'm watching Defiant #4, on the ME right now of Primate/Ridgeway. Primate feels like what Chris Candido would've been like if he came up during the current scene. He's got a presence in the ring and throws strikes with really great fire, putting all his weight into them, and practically oversells for Ridgeway's kicks on the floor. It made Ridgeway's kicks look absolutely killer and I loved when he was on the offensive. Hopefully he stops trying to emulate the kids who trade elbows because STRONG STYLE OMG and learns to make his shit matter.

Edwin
What's the deal with the WWE UK title? Dunne seems to be defending it more on indy shows than in the WWE. He's defending it again at PROGRESS 62 against Joseph Conners.
iamthedoctor
What has been the most uninteresting Championship match that WWE had advertised for a PPV? For me it had to be the casket match from the 94 Rumble. Now the thought of it sounded awesome and I believe Undertaker should have walked out with the title and battled Bret at Mania. At the time I remember being really pissed off that they just had 20 heels come out and interfere and not one face decided to help Taker. It didn't make alot of sense nor watching him get taken down for 10 minutes or however long it ran for. I've heard about Taker having a bad hip or knee at this time but the match was just terrible. While on the subject of this PPV was the timing off with Owen Hart or something? There seemed plenty of times the Quebecers were using foreign onjects and using tag moves when they haden't tagged in right in front of the referee. I think Owen probably should have come in earlier so they could do it behind the refs back but this just seemed odd. The knee injury was complete BS because if you stop the match if a competitor can't continue fair enough but Bret just tried the sharpshooter then dropped the hold and you immediately call the bell? I think that ending should have been played out a little more better. Regarding the big Rumble match wasent all impressed how Randy gets ganged on by 2 heels, same for Doink, at least make it a even playing field like feuds in the Rumble normally are. At the time I did wonder why IRS had been given the title shot instead of Shawn, would it have been wrong to do HBK/Razor at the Rumble and Mania? Say Diesel interferes causing a DQ and Shawn does some risky thing and uses a Ladder to set the match up.

iamthedoctor
It's just a shame we never got a Tenryu-Taker match... I know we got Haku/Taker while not on the same caliber as Tenryu just suprised Undertaker didn't get to work with more Japanese guys as when Hogan was wrestling over there in 91 - 93 he wrestled most of them. iamthedoctor
I love the Tenryu-Savage match. Its suprising how decent this japan tour was and really should have had some televised coverage in Japan. I didn't realise Tenryu wrestled Yokozuna in a singles match but they also did a Royal Rumble and Bret Hart defending the WWF Belt against Macho Man which to be fair should have been the manin event of Mania. Billing the old vs new in the new Generation that would have been fantastic Randy putting over Bret in that match. Was WWE right in having Borga go over Tatanka on Superstars? I mean he had the undefeated streak for so long and to lose it on a Superstars match just so Taker can go into Survivor Series didn't seem right. I feel they should have saved it for a moment that made something. But who should have beaten the streak?
Edwin
I've been re-watching a bunch of the 2004 IWA-MS matches I dug from back then and a bunch of them hold up fine today, but man that ring was terrible back then. The squeaking of it during the Bryan Danielson vs. Chris Hero 2/3 falls match was really distracting.
NintendoLogic
I finally saw Cody's "New Japan? More like OLD Japan" promo. It somehow managed to be even worse than I had been led to believe. Amazing.
KawadaSmile
Rhodes ever since leaving WWE is like a poor man's Miz with a little bit of Jim Carey's Riddler thrown in.
Laz
He annoys me because I know there's a great talent in there somewhere but he's fine with surface-level gimmicks and cheap heat. I remember that early promo with Holly where he came across as so comfortable on the mic, but he just doesn't say much of anything and, even worse, lacks the insane charisma to make even nothing by-the-numbers promos captivating. Obligatory "but whatever, he's making a good living his own way" post-script.
Mad Dog
Cody is a lot better with Brandi. He actually has a personality when he's with her. But she's a great heel.
sek69
Cody in ROH and Cody at WK with Brandi were like two entirely different people. I hope he can convince her to stick around but she seems to have a lot of irons in the fire as well.
Mad Dog
Yeah, they have really good chemistry and it brings out his personality. They did some really good stuff in that match. Cody and Brandi together, I would pay to see.
Zoo Enthusiast
Rhodes ever since leaving WWE is like a poor man's Miz with a little bit of Jim Carey's Riddler thrown in. Dude is terrible. He had a pretty good match with Kota Ibushi. That's pretty much the extent of it. Credit to him for latching himself on with the Bucks/Omega and going along for the ride, though.
