Mad Dog
This guy on eBay has hundreds of wrestling programs up and I'm super tempted by a lot of them.
CYF
The Devil Masami vs Monster Ripper chain match from November 83 is so much fun. It makes me want to dive deeper into Rhonda's 80s run
Mad Dog
I need way more Ishii and Suzuki stiffing each other in my life.
sek69
Clearly the most intelligence insulting move WWE has ever tried pulling was to act like anyone was fooled by Steph's Undercover Boss disguise.
EricR
Herman Munster wrestling. Â Good choice. Also, even though I've seen it like 5 times, the Mama's Family wrestling ep could have been a lot better.
Mad Dog
How about Randy Savage appearing as the Grey Ghost on Space Ghost Coast to Coast?
Victator
Found the GCW with Ric Flair's first appearance as NWA champion. It was off putting to see Flair so new and tentative as World Champion. He did not seem to believe it himself. Kinda like seeing Hulk Hogan in 84. Mad Dog
So I've started buying old Apter mags off of eBay. Mostly issues of The Wrestler from the 1970s. I kind of just go by if the cover is cool or not.

I kind of just go by if the cover is cool or not. That's awesome, man. Â I've only ever collected comic books (and stopped that in high school), but is there an abundance of those old mags available out there? Â Let us know if you discover anything interesting worth sharing.
Mad Dog
Quite a bit out here actually. There's a lot of old programs out there as well. It seems a lot of it can be purchased for $5-15 depending on the issue but most people with best offer will take less. Â I'm trying to find the Lawler/Andre issue of The Wrestler with the headline "The Night a Midget Beat Andre The Giant."
Log
Man, I wish I had my old wrestling magazines! I had a ton. I probably started buying them around 86 or 87. Went until 90 or so, but I had a lot. Refused to throw back issues away, much to my mom's chagrin. I used to know which magazines each grocery store in my town would have. I'd ride my bike around and check probably once a week for new issues. That, and I had a subscription to WWF magazine for years. Good times. Mad Dog
There's a couple of programs I want to buy where people circled who won and left notes on it. The WWWF programs are kind of lame compared to the NWA ones.
JRH
Ironically, my favorite section in wrestling magazines were the results sections. Even though they were out of date, it was interesting looking through them, especially if there were any oddball matchups listed and what house show only feuds were happening (of course, now we have Graham's site and various other results pages for that, but back in the day it was the only way to find out what programs were going on). CarpetCrawler
How about Randy Savage appearing as the Grey Ghost on Space Ghost Coast to Coast? Â "DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU'RE ON THE TV?!" is an inside joke I have with a few buddies of mine from that episode. So funny. Â As for me, I've been trying to collect the first couple of years worth of official WWF Programs (1983-86) from when they started numbering them 101, 102, etc. All I'm missing is 105 (The Masked Superstar on the cover) and 108 (The Iron Sheik on the cover, where he's announced as the new WWF Champion). I get the feeling 108's gonna be a nightmare to get...
Mad Dog
Hillbilly Jim, Billy Jack Haynes and S.D. Jones vs. Don Muraco, Bob Orton Jr. and Iron Mike Sharpe on I think the 6/14/1987 Wrestling Challenge was a surprisingly fun little 5ish minute match. Then on the 6/20/1987 Superstars the Hart Foundation have a pretty good match with the Killer Bees. I am shocked there were 2 decent matches that close together. SteveJRogers
When was the last 1,000 day reign for a major (TV, etc) promotions recognized heavyweight belt? Cant be Hogans Dec 84-Feb 88? Have there been close to 1,000 day (500 plus) reigns since as well?
Mad Dog
El Terrible in CMLL had their World Title for 1,125 days. But CMLL probably forgot it existed for about 600 of those days. Atlantis has also held the Mexican National Light Heavyweight belt for over 1,000.

Sean Liska
Re-watching Daniel Bryan vs Big Cass, and how about Bryan really trying to bring good punches back to wrestling? He said he spent time in his retirement studying Lawler and he's doing his best to incorporate that. I love it.
