El Dragon Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Crowd is tired, and so am I. Is this match not great so far, or is it me? Seems kind of slow... It hasn't been bad, it's just... everyone is tired and wore down. It's hard to get fully into this. Quote
ButchReedMark Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 This is doing nothing for me. As sacreligious as it sounds I feel this would have been better in the middle of the show. Quote
ShittyLittleBoots Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Really not feeling this at all. They're gonna have a good finishing stretch for sure, but so far it's been very disappointing. Quote
FMKK Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 This is doing nothing for me. As sacreligious as it sounds I feel this would have been better in the middle of the show. Part of the problem is just tiredness and it being hard to give everything full attention after so long. But I also think that the whole match having not much build beyond being billed as a dream match means expectations end up being too high for them to live up to it. Quote
El Dragon Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Jesus Christ, was that a Leg Grasp Northern Lights Bomb? I'm not sure if I've ever seen that before. Quote
El-P Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 It's actually really good, but it's too late on the card. It's not a big spectacle, it's just a damn good pro-wrestling match. And the setting asks for a big spectacle now. Quote
KawadaSmile Posted April 9, 2018 Author Report Posted April 9, 2018 People busting ridiculous shit is a trend I like. Charlotte with the Spanish Fly and Styles with this Northern Lights Bomb. Quote
ShittyLittleBoots Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Stephanie McMahon having a better match at WM than Shinsuke Nakamura & AJ fucking Styles. What a world.Yeah. This is super boring so far. The finishing stretch will be very good though. Quote
WingedEagle Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 It's actually really good, but it's too late on the card. It's not a big spectacle, it's just a damn good pro-wrestling match. And the setting asks for a big spectacle now. This. Its very solid and they're doing things that would normally pop a crowd, but when these guys working submissions wake them up the most it suggests its the environment rather than the match. Not to say they're having any kind of classic, but its been a very good match. Quote
El-P Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 But I also think that the whole match having not much build beyond being billed as a dream match means expectations end up being too high for them to live up to it. Problem is that the whole "dream match" was overstated considering they already had a main event match at the Tokyo Dome, when Nak was younger, less banged up and working a way harder style. Ditto AJ. So it couldn't reach the same quality anyway in this context. Quote
El Dragon Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Yeah, I'll argue it's been jumped to very good, it's just hard to keep your attention after 5 straight hours of wrestling. Quote
Childs Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 They've done some very cool stuff in this match, but it's not connecting at the highest level. Feels like something that might look a lot better in hindsight. Quote
stunning_grover Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 It's been a pretty good match so far. Just imagine watching this match on a random day. WrestleMania has been going on for over six hours so far now (if you're counting the pre-show too). However, I don't think this is on the level of their 1/4/2016 match. Quote
PhilTLL Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 I DID IT AGAIN. Anyway they have got to shorten the weekend so WrestleMania stops eating itself every year. This home stretch is a joyless obligatory slog, like Christmas Eve Mass. Quote
El Dragon Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Wow, kinda stunned AJ retrained. Cool finish. Quote
WingedEagle Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Just like I told you, there was no chance AJ was losing. Quote

Ditto AJ. So it couldn't reach the same quality anyway in this context. Honestly, I thought that match was also very good rather than great. Quote

And the setting asks for a big spectacle now. When the build is WWE speak for workrate classic then its tough to live up to in this situation. Shouldve just been bomb throwing at this stage. Wow, abrupt finish. Thought Nak would win Quote
Coffey Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 There is no chance they're giving Nak that kind of entrance and having walk back empty handed. Wrong result, but its a lock. Not in WWE land. Quote
stunning_grover Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 Oh, it's over. Yeah, not nearly as good as their 1/4/2016 match. Still, a pretty good match. Just not as good as hoped, I guess. Quote
Robert S Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 I'm actually not doing that bad. It's almost 5AM, but the show being at points really fucking great really has helped. Still could have cut out a bunch of stuff. I was doing fine until about 45 minutes ago, now I am spent. Strange booking having both Royal Rumble winners lose. Quote
C.S. Posted April 9, 2018 Report Posted April 9, 2018 That's it? Right guy won though. Nakamura has been a colossal disappointment on the main roster. I'd release him and put that money to good use. What a shame since he came in with so much promise and intrigue, but he has been the Japanese Lex Luger. Quote
