Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?

So is Dixie basically a MILFTROLL now ?

Really? She looks a bit rough these days.

My question is, why is she still on TV? She's not actively bad or anything, but I thought she was thrown on TV so Eric and Hogan could make her feel like a star and thus be in her ear more. Now that they're apparently gone...she's still out there, making videos like this:

For a company that was actually decent about the whole magic camera shtick, why are there two of them filming a 'meeting' like this? Using what seems to be 2008 cellphones too.

I don't think he'd make a significant difference. TNA are shit at promoting and they sound like a weekly soft porn magazine anyway. A lot of Hogan's and Flair's fans assumed they were still in retirement when they were in the company. Cena's the only chance they'd have in gaining a following but I don't think they'll ever get close to WWE's level.

Yes, of course they'd ruin it.

I'd be more interested to see how WWE would react. Who'd they put on top? Would they stick Randy up there and carry on as normal? Or would their booking philosophy change? Would they finally change the presentation of their product and head in a different direction?

I'd never wish harm on him obviously but it would be fascinating to see what WWE would do if Cena hung up his boots tomorrow.

What if John Cena jumped to TNA?

Nothing would change. Just like when TNA got Jeff Hardy. None of the fans can make the jump with the wrestler when no one knows TNA exists. People aren't watching Spike TV at any other time to even see a TNA Wrestling commercial so how will they know about it? Only if they're watching COPS reruns or fucking Bar Rescue.

So Kurt Angle and TNA do this thing with ONE DIRECTION, and it apparently just gets slung online with no publicity or promotion whatsoever. I mean, seriously, these guys make terrible music etc but they are up there with the biggest celebrities in the world. They close airports down and have millions of fans willing to follow whatever the group[tells them. They are five times as big as all the no name C-List 'stars' WWE has tried to hype as being associated with their product.

The failure to capitalize on something like this is just symptomatic of their utter, unmitigated incompetence.

The properly written blurb on the TNA website is just the icing on the cake.

On November 23, 2013 Kurt Angle was a part of One Direction's 1DDay promoting their upcoming album release "Midnight Memories". The 7 hour event was hosted for the most part by the band and saw the likes of people such as Simon Cowel, Jerry Springer, Piers Morgan and more. It was streamed live from Los Angeles, CA to the world on YouTube and was seen by over 650,000 people at any given time. As part of the event Kurt came in to wrestle with the Liam where he started things off fairly simple, however, it seemed that Kurt had underestimated Liam's abilities abilities and the band member had a few tricks up his sleaves.

I guess 'abilities' had to be in there back-to-back. What if someone wanted to check out TNA because of that event and was met with a 3rd rate site, a bad blurb on the event, and Garrett Bischoff being from 'Parks Unknown'. Seriously, the site fucking sucks.

For some reason there is a disconnect. I am not sure why. TNA likes to talk about Twitter, Facebook, Instragram, and other social media, but refuses to SHOW THIS STUFF ON TV. Angle doing stuff with One Direction is BIG. I am not a fan of those guys but I recognize they are superstars and massively popular. Its good they have it on the website, but I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't on TV. Christopher Daniels being on Epic Meal Time is another thing that shouldn't just get mentioned...but should be shown. If there is some kind of copyright law I am unaware of that prevents people from just showing Youtube videos (without paying the copyright owner some cash), then plug the shit out of it on TV and tell everyone to go to TNA's Youtube page, etc.

Just from a presentation standpoint, people would think TNA wrestlers do NOTHING outside TNA and have no presence while WWE workers have tons of stuff going on and side projects. Hopefully TNA realizes that social media interactive doesn't stop and end with the plugging of Dixie's Twitter or Bubba Ray telling people to add him on Myspace. TNA keeps bringing itself to social media (which is a good thing) but isn't bringing social media to TNA.

  • 3 weeks later...

I know TNA has become a non-enitity in the wrestling world, but has anyone looked at the tapings these past few weeks? You got fucking Magnus as their world champ. You know...the guy who debuted as a gladiator and did nothing for about 4 years before forming a random tag team with Samoa Joe, doing nothing again for a few months before beating Sting clean by submission at Bound for Glory in a terrible match. He was alright in Ring Ka King, but he doesn't really bring anything to the table aside from being from the UK. Nothing special in the ring and sometimes outright bad, no real mic skills to talk about and he isn't even particularly over. AJ Styles is also apparently gone from the promotion. They couldn't come to terms monetarily so after investing a bunch of time pushing and building him up for the main event of their biggest show, they didn't even have him under contract for the following year.

I can't believe TNA still sticks with Mike Tenay as their #1 announcer. I guess if you want him to stick around on Xplosion that's cool, but he's been ruining their main show for YEARS. I don't know who should replace him, but they should be cycling guys on Xplosion constantly until they find someone to replace Tenay.

There's multiple people around the boards who think Vickie is hot, so this isn't surprising.

My theory is that guys don't necessarily think they are hot but that since they are labelled "cougars" (well Vickie anyways), they are "attainable".
