They've been doing the bit where MVP is going around attempting to recruit the young folks, and him as the mouthpiece for someone who has all the tools but maybe isn't the greatest at promos yet could be money.

Which on paper is good. But then again, Lio Rush and Max Caster are two people who don't need anyone doing the talk for them though.

I dunno. They had Shane Taylor & Lee Moriarty right there. They're better, they're younger, they're not ex-WWE guys (again, if the Hurt Syndicate leads to better ratings and houses, I guess it was worth it, but let's be real, they'll have zero effect, the issue with AEW is overall perception right now and this kind of signing is not the answer, it's actually part of the problem).

Apropos of nothing other than the Sting Timelines vid getting into my algorithm:

Sting is the GOAT super face
Sting's AEW run is the GOAT legend run
Many adults will be crying when Darby wins the big one and Sting comes out unannounced to celebrate with him

Maybe it's a good thing Darby has so many kind of sporadic runs in AEW over the past 5 years because him doing Darby things consistently for 5 years even without house shows would be such a short career.

It's more than time for Darby to be the guy for AEW

Those good WCW vibes in the first 2ish years are delightful.

I almost hope this is all part of some angle because it's stupid for GCW to get mad over it since ROH has run Final Battle in December for literal decades, and frequently in the Hammerstein.

Looks like it is now.  Jericho showed up at tonight's GCW event, attacking Effy & Cardona while wearing an AEW shirt.

now I'd expect Effy to show up at Final Battle.

Oh, the glorious world of pro-wrestling. We all live for this kinda shit, right ?

Too bad they did not send Jeff Jarrett though, who was last seen on the indies before he went to WWE beating up Effie.

(I wonder how Ricky Starks feels about this whole thing now ? 😄)

In other news, it seems Rush and Dralistico are kinda iced because of an incident where, I know it's shocking, they got unprofesionnal by beating up a worker who was legit checked by the doctor.

Ya know, at this point, I don't even see why Coach TK should bother. Rush is terrific, but he's ungovernable (see what I did ?). You can't rely on him nor his brother to behave. Let someone else have headaches with these two. And release Fénix and Miro while he's at it. Just save the money. Way too many talent on the roster already. Cut back and focus.

He needs to cut like 50 people from that roster and backstage maybe even more but knowing TK and what he has done so far. WWE will fire someone then TK will just hire him. I just think TK runs AEW like a fantasy writer runs their fantasy promotion.

I don’t even think TK has the ability to focus either. He has his hands in too many jars and everything is failing because of it. Look at the Jags they are in completely shambles. They have a clueless GM and keep losing. Now they fired the coach and going to have to get a whole new coaching staff. They give out horrible contracts, they are negative in the cap and don’t even have a good draft pick this year.

TK honestly needs to leave the other things alone and focus solely on AEW. You can’t keep burning the candle at both ends. It will end up catching up with you.

TBF as a Fulham supporter they are doing quite well.  But a lot of this I think is as much that TK isn’t paying attention and letting Marco Silva cook.

This will please a lot of people here.

Tony Khan is reportedly no longer booking Britt Baker for AEW TV, as frustration with her has grown behind the scenes. A recent incident was said to be the final straw, with sources describing her as increasingly difficult to work with:

"She might be done with AEW. At least the feeling I'm getting from talking to people in AEW is Tony Khan might have her in the same category as some other wrestlers where they just don't get phone calls and don't get called in to show up. There is a lot of frustration with her.

I'm told - and I've heard this pretty consistently - she's wildly unpopular in the women's locker room. One person said no one ever wants to see her come back, speaking of the women's locker room. Now, that is a bold broad statement. I could imagine somebody on social media going, 'I am a women's wrestler in AEW and I want her back.' Okay, fair enough, but I'm just telling you somebody's perception is nobody wants her back. That's how bad it is, somebody is willing to tell me that.

"There was the incident with her and MJF and I'm told that factors into her being off television, but there are other issues with her that have come up. She has become increasingly difficult to work with in a general sense. She has always had a reputation for being difficult to work with. There was a specific situation recently not counting the MJF situation where people just threw their hands up…It wasn't like a huge deal but it was enough to sort of be the straw that broke the camel's back in terms of just feeling like, 'You know what? We've got a strong women's division now compared to when she was on top and we don't need to deal with her if she's going to be this difficult to work with.' So that’s where they are with her.

"I am told the Adam Cole situation is not stopping her. There should be no heat on Adam Cole, he has nothing to do with her not being on TV...Obviously, she had some standout moments in AEW and became a star and was seen as a centrepiece act, but even back then I was hearing about her reputation and being unpopular in certain circles, and difficult to work with, and being fiercely territorial of her role in the company in a way that just felt unsustainable. And from what I'm hearing, at least the attitude right now at the moment, the belief is Tony Khan is fed up enough that he's just gonna focus his TV time on others.

I don't know what that means in terms of her pay and her contract and it's possible eventually things will change...At this point in asking around, you should not expect to see her back imminently."

It shouldn't.

Britt is more over than 99% of the AEW women and many of the men.

Might be a BS rumor anyway. DM and probably others are already refuting it.

Has Meltzer refuted it? I know Alvarez said it was blown out of proportion, don't know if Dave has said anything about it yet.

It seems at least to be a "where there's smoke there's fire" situation with her.  Every time there's some kind of backstage drama involving Britt there's always a ton of "its blown out of proportion" defenses made, but if everyone around you thinks you're an asshole you just might be an asshole.

Britt is over with fans, yes, but if she has been causing trouble backstage and essentially is the least liked person on your roster, is it really worth it? Is she selling enough merch or leading to an increase in PPV buys that offsets the trouble of trying to mend fences or working around those relationships? If the answer is "no", then probably releasing her is the right move.

I won't even criticize her in-ring abilities, but in terms of physicality I do remember she returning lower from that long time off she had. She maximized everything she could from the first few years in the company, so it might be time to go before she becomes as infamous as Tessa.

Whatever one thinks about Britt Baker as a performer (she is not nearly as over as she used to and hasn't look very good at all during her latest comebacks), this is turning into a straight harassment and hate campaign though. There's nothing *concrete* about what's been said about her in term of how much she's liked or not backstage, despite some obvious issues (her suspension a few months back). This is going so far now as some dumb fuck pseudo "insider" spreading shitty rumors about her personal life, and of course Konnan jumping on it and spreading it even further, to the point she felt she had to address it publicly. Konnan is such an old piece of fucking shit, really.

It's possible Alvarez said it, and my mind filled in the blank with Meltzer because they're both from the same site.
