KingBoggs33
I don’t get why you guys think WWE cares at all what Jesse Ventura thinks about Hogan. They hired Punk back knowing he had heat with guys. Also it’s not like Hogan/Jesse are going to even do anything. They are both old men. They aren’t going to fight. They might say stuff at best but that’s it. Nothing will happen so having Hogan appear means nothing to anybody. I’m sure Jesse is in the mindset of as long as I don’t have to share space with him then I’m fine. Plus money makes everything better and makes people be quiet.

El-P
In other news, WWE is going back to Saudi Arabia in June. On 1/8/2025 at 9:32 AM, Alucard said: 2024 was the NEW Era, 2025 is now the NET. FLIX. DMJ
I was curious, if the WWE were to actually move their headquarters to Saudi Arabia, at least "on paper," how would that affect their bottom line? Less taxes? More taxes? I'm just curious because it seems like that's the direction they're headed in and the Saudi government would probably love to be "the World Headquarters of the WWE," even if they basically just kept everything the way it is. Like, I wouldn't expect Triple H and Stephanie to move to Riyadh, but what would be the legal, financial ramifications of some sort of nominal agreement whereby the company "moved" to Saudi Arabia? Or is that just straight illegal?
El-P
Nothing is illegal for shitty corporation like Amazon, Starbuck, Meta and the likes. I'm sure TKO would get away with pretty much anything. Especially with the fascistoid masculinists cryptobro oligarchy taking over the country in a few day. In other news, WWE is doing PLE in Germany and France again. They should try Hogan again there. Racists are in-vogue there. Very much so.
Johnny Sorrow
I used to get all righteously indignant about the Saudi shows. I remember when the first one happened and I in no way was going to watch it. Because that's gonna show 'em even though I subscribe to the network. My best pal Chris, who always comes over for wrestling and has been my live show companion for 15 years, wanted to watch it. He regretted it because I spent the whole evening yelling at the TV at the rich sheiks sitting on couches at ringside who were were bored and murderously rich. Chris has never brought up watching a Saudi show since. But recently I've relented. They got rid of the oil billionaires section and the crowds are now just regular people, excited for wrestling. Also, the shows air here on Saturday mornings/ afternoons. They're my background noise while I deep clean my place. I still struggle with the evil, murdering, misogynistic, homophobic, corrupt, government there. But then I remember that my country is exactly the same and continue to vacuum my carpet. My daughter is autistic and I never had to worry about her doing nazi salutes. So somehow I don’t think that’s the reason. Us Americans can’t say shit about any other country and what promotion is running where. Hell, Elon would probably want a wrestling match on fucking Mars, and our dumbass president would be right there rooting it on like the puppet he is. El-P
New complaint filed. More Brock Lesnar (probably not coming back at the Rumble, uh). Nick Khan being namedropped (time to end the joke now, just do a background check, this guy is a massive piece of trash). Micheal Hayes (and his crew, whoever they are) in the mud. More dirt all over. (but no one knew, and it' an entirely brand new company now) "Papa Trip" at the Rumble's press conference (if they actually let any real journalists in) : "I haven't had the time to read the complaint yet"
Ricky Jackson
In other empire crumbling news, Linda McMahon's confirmation hearing expected "as early as next week". Could be fun
El-P
Linda : "Uh, I forgot what Master I did at university" Paul : "Uh, I had no idea about what happened on the other side of that wall" Nick : "Uh, I had no idea why I was asked to place Janel Grant in that room next to that other room" Fuck this family and this company and its fanboys so fucking much. El-P
So, the ring boys suit is still on. Imagine that. Linda McMahon, the minister of Education, involved in a lawsuit where there are proofs of her closing her eyes on young teenage boys being sexually assaulted. And yeah, Papa Trip was at Mar-a-Lago on New Years's Eve because he's just supporting his mother in law (not because he's actually supporting the nazi loving WWE Hall of Famer president, who is now at direct war with women's rights, LGBT+ people and immigrants). What the fuck are we talking about here ? If that wasn't pro-wrestling (because don't kid yourself, WWE is not mainstream despite being the hottest it's been in 25 years), there would be massive talks about it, every bit of this and the Vince thing and the ties between TKO and Trump. But I guess not. Hey, they booed Hogan, and CM Punk cut a promo about it, lulz. Everything is fine. "Record gates blablabla This is cinema blabloubli" Yeah. YEAH ! YEET ! Or something. Flyin' Brian
I keep seeing people say WWE is at an all time hot period and honestly just wondering what that is based on. I know it’s not tv ratings. It’s not Star power. It’s not mainstream recognition. Live attendance? Money? (Adjusted for inflation?) just as a fan there’s not much I’m interested in. It’s not bad but at least to me it doesn’t feel like an all time period. what am I missing?

strobogo
And also the 2-3 years straight of breaking merch/gate numbers every month, doing multiple stadium shows a year globally, Peacock deal for billions, Netflix deal for billions, USA deal for billions, Fox deal for billions, Saudi deal for billions. The Thread Killer
So apparently, Cedric Alexander, Paul Ellering and The Authors of Pain have all been released. Which means The Final Testament are pretty much done, now all they have to do is get rid useless Karrion Kross. Not that I’m advocating for anybody to lose their job, of course. But he’s terrible. It will be interesting to see if Cedric Alexander ends up with the Hurt Syndicate in AEW. He was part of the stable in WWE, but then again he is married to Big Swole if I’m not mistaken. We all remember how her parting with Tony Khan and AEW went.
The Thread Killer
Sonya Deville is reportedly gone too.
The Thread Killer
Blair Davenport reportedly gone too. I have to be honest, I don’t think I know who she is. Although she apparently is dating Will Osprey, and has already had a run in AEW? Apparently Osprey was openly mocking Triple H at some indie show this past weekend so people are speculating this might be retaliatory. There are also people buzzing on Twitter, claiming that the reason Duke Hudson got released is because he’s gay.
C.S.
Sonya hurts. She and Athena could have bangers in ROH though. Whether TK thinks so, or whether there's any interest from Sonya in that direction, is another story. Blair Davenport was Bea Priestley in AEW. Put her together with Jack Perry! I liked AoP, Paul Ellering, and Cedric Alexander, but they weren't exactly being used. Cedric is in a relationship with Big Swole, so does that mean AEW is out of the question? (Edit: @The Thread Killer wondered the same thing above.) Kross has grown on me a bit, so I think he stays - for now. 58 minutes ago, The Thread Killer said: There are also people buzzing on Twitter, claiming that the reason Duke Hudson got released is because he’s gay. El-P
Only ONE black male wrestler (discounting the Youtube celebrity) out of a gigantic roster in the Royal Rumble. Two LGBT+ workers gone in a matter of two weeks. All in the wake of a brutal war on minorities's rights just starting. Ok... The next few years are gonna be "interesting". (hopefully that's where other promoters not in bed with WWE take a stand. Book Nyla Rose. Book Gisele Shaw. Book Anthony Bowens. And so on. Things are gonna get very much political, much more than before, in term of how all of this will, or hopefully SHOULD, be looked at. Of course pro-wrestling fans be like pro-wrestling fans, as demonstrated. But yeah, this is how things should be looked at)

Coffey
I still use pro wrestling as escapism from real life. I still frequent PWO because I feel like I've been attached to wrestling forums, in one fashion or another, for over 25-years now & it's hard to give up. I still enjoy talking about wrestling & WWE, but coming on here anymore, is just kind of depressing. I don't know what I get from here anymore other than guilt from being a fan. I don't need to constantly be reminded of how billion dollar companies are full of real life pieces of shit. So is Walmart. So is Amazon. So is Apple. So is Chic-fil-A. Like, I get it. I can't abstain & boycott every company in the United States. I didn't vote for Donald Trump. I didn't vote for a single Republican. It's not my fault WWE sucks or our country is going to shit. It doesn't need to be said in every reply in every thread. I would rather just go on Threads or Bluesky & actually talk about the shows with people that want to talk about the shows. Not constantly be beaten over the head with how the sky is falling & I'm a terrible person if I watch the Royal Rumble, like I some how condone that awful shit that goes down outside of the TV show. There's not even a lot of active people here anymore, so blocking one of the few remaining people gets me nowhere. I work a lot. My body hurts a lot. I'm surrounded by people in all walks of life that are the living embodiment of doom-scrolling. I don't need more of that shit during my leisure time.
