Come on now. Garcia & Danielson vs Jericho & Sammy is a great main event that showcase both established stars and (excellent) younger guys that are pushed. MJF vs Yuta should be really fun and another good test for Yuta. Rush vs Hangman beating the fuck out of each other sounds terrific. The six-woman tag looks good. Darby vs Lethal will be at worst very good (Lethal is a perfect TV good to have really good matches with and can lose without a problem).

The Scissoring Day can be fun and lead to an actual feud or be WWE-like cringe bullshit. Getting Brian Cage back on TV to do a job for Wardlow after being gone forever is more puzzling, but then again, I would rather have Brian Cage on my weekly TV than Wardlow. Luchasaurus squash is a fucking waste of time, like it's been since day one of this angle that apparently will never end.

Overall, it's sad that on the three years anniversary there's no Omega nor Young Bucks, but honestly that show looks mostly really good and fun on paper.

I dunno, I guess the complaint is more "Yuta and Garcia are featured every single fucking week" than their quality as performers. Like, where's Miro? Wouldn't this be a good time to start featuring Brody more often? Is Ricky (and Hobbs, too) relegated to Rampage, a show which struggles to reach .5 viewers? This just doesn't seem to productive and ends up falling in line with the complaints and observations we had on the other thread.

I like Danny. I kinda like Yuta. Spending more time with them than with Ricky sounds completely backwards to me.

Yuta is perfect where he is, cuz someone needs to lose to MJF to build up his title shot, and the champ's stablemate is the perfect fit. I'd put Hobbs against either Hangman or Wardlow, since he can afford to lose a competitive match against one of the top stars, but Cage works as a one-off challenger too. The women's match is perfectly fine and features their most organically over star. Same with the Acclaimed segment; it would be crazy to not milk their hot run for every drop of it's worth. I'd have Darby v. Miro, and I don't think a loss would hurt either of them, especially since Miro beat Darby for the title. Luchasaurus is also fine, since it leads to a feud with Jungle Boy, and I think JB has been great, has improved a hell of a lot on promos, and should start getting big wins. But a Ricky Starks segment or a live promo could have replaced it, or maybe both: let Ricky continue to cut great promos while squashing jobbers, since he excels at cutting promos. Maybe Starks v. Nese where Starks gets a quick win.

(Hire me, Coach Tony K, we are South Asian bros after all)

I like Yuta better as the underdog babyface, so him vs MJF should be good to me. Darby better get a win against Lethal. Who will interrupt National Scissoring Day? Wardlow vs Brian Cage, Luchasaurus, and the women's match are all Meh stuff though. I wish Rush would go over Page, but not going to happen since they have to keep him strong for the title match. Main event should be good but will we get a swerve? They have to do something to justify that 15 minute overrun.

You’re a lot more optimistic than me. I hope you’re right & you enjoy the show but I’ll be skipping this week. None of that, on paper, appeals to me. I’m just thankful that AEW continues to put out a show card before hand. AEW no longer gets a free pass from me for previous goodwill. They have squandered that. I can’t give them the benefit of the doubt anymore & I won’t keep making excuses to myself to try to justify tuning in when I know I could do something else with my time. Just like last week when I shut it off early. I missed nothing.

I can get why people would be meh on Yuta. They tried, I'll give them that, but he doesn't come off like he's badass enough to hang with the BCC. Regal should be slapping the piss out of him and calling him Sunshine. If they established it more like the rest of the gang just keeps him around as a training dummy, or like a less comedic Brandon Cutler, maybe I would be more on board.

It boggles my mind that people aren't feeling Garcia though. Dude's a great wrestler, and the slow burn of him getting buyers remorse for going all in on Jericho's bullshit has been very well done. Plus he has one of the most babyface backstories you can get, coming back from what should have been a career ending car accident. It feels like he's getting residual heat from people mad Jericho wormed his way into another top program. It's not like Jericho hasn't been holding up his end of the deal either, so I don't even get why people are mad at him. This whole program is clearly designed to set up Garcia as a top level guy, and so far they seem to be doing a good job since the crowds are clamoring to see him turn.

Is the tag match the main event? Doesn't feel worthy of a 15 minute overrun. For a while I thought TK might use those minutes to run an angle or even bring back The Elite.

I think Yuta suffered from doing absolutely nothing after the hot angle that got him in the BCC. Crowds were reacting big and chanting his name. Then he never said a single word nor had any new showcase in AEW TV for months until this MJF mini feud (he did get the Pure Title and lost it, both matches came out of nowhere with little build). He was just member n°3 of the group and that was it.

I agree him facing MJF is the right call, it's the right spot for him right now. It would just feel more meaningful if we would've been given a reason to care about Yuta since early April.

Good draw for Page this month.

RUSH and Moxley are maybe the two best people on the roster to push him hard, give him no air, and tamper down on his bullshit match structure ideas. He should have a good month.

I'm kind of fascinated to see what Cage vs Wardlow will look like as a cold match. We've seen Wardlow showing off the agility a bit more lately and that's basically Cage's deal, for good or ill. I ALMOST think that it's there to be a set up for Joe vs Cage maybe?

Remember how we felt like Yuta and Garcia were going to do everything they could to steal the show a few weeks ago. Same deal with MJF and Yuta. That's the mentality that gave us the technically sound but kind of empty Darby vs MJF match from earlier in the year, but this has more heat and history behind it, so we'll see. MJF is going to want to help get Yuta over the next hump while still going over strong. It'll be a real test of both guys and I hope they nail it.

Women's match has to overcome whatever the hell happened last week. It definitely feels like some random Team BAD vs Team PCB 2015 Raw women's match, which is not a good look. Everyone in it is good though, so it should be solid.

Main event is all about the turn one way or the other. Does Tony feel like he really, really needs a hot program going into Canada? Does he realize Jericho will be over as a face no matter what and decide to run with babyface Garcia in the long turn? I think what I'd do is have Yuta lose valiantly earlier in the night (due to, let's say, interference from Firm member Moriarty) but get pissed off that Danielson wasn't there for him and turn on him at the end of the night to join with Jericho to heat things up.

Basically, this really, really needs to be a good show. But there's no reason why it shouldn't be.
