Dave Meltzer stuff

I don't know how to post the actual tweets but Dave is getting awful riled up about those stupid TNAMecca people trolling him so hard on twitter. There was some back and forth that eventually broke down into this:

Dave tweets:

@AmericanAlucard @brydertna Hey, while you're at it, I dare you to ask Bob Ryder details of the favor I did for them?Does Bob have the guts?

And Bob Ryder responds proving he doesn't know when to shut up and lay low:

Get over yourself Dave. If you can't handle criticism, don't be a critic. Don't need to prove I have "guts" to you.

Both of them sound pretty bad there. Shockingly, Meltzer's grammar is better than Bob's during this asinine exchange.

I know you weren't making shit up. I am surprised Dave would engage in such pettiness though.

The TNAMecca people are beyond delusional and have been giving him a TON of shit on twitter. You'd think Dave would just block them or something but I can see where it would get frustrating for him to constantly be accused of saying things he didn't say and being negative about a product that he genuinely likes and praises.

Here are a couple of tweets with Dave engaging his trolls:

Reading the TNA lunatic fringe try to deny the facts about the state of the company is akin to listening to politicians try to deny the facts about climate change. It's amusing at first, then it gets tiring, then it becomes annoying, then it's finally something you have to ignore for fear of losing your sanity.

As pathetic as it all is (brutal to see Rovert diving in to announce himself as the voice of reason), I was amused by the fifteen-year old Carl Bernstein tweeting about a shoot interview of Davey Richards saying that TNA would get a new TV deal months before Dave wrote about Destination America. Now who's the journalist, Mr. Meltzer?

Hogan/Savage was the main. A lot of the results they use I believe are newspaper clippings that state the card. So the changes aren't reflected in the results. Some are actual results. I know it didn't last long, but I thought Tully missed about a week or 2 of bookings.

WWF @ Houston, TX - Summit - July 16, 1989 (10,000)

The Genius defeated Paul Roma

Bushwhacker Butch defeated Tully Blanchard (w/ Arn Anderson); the bout was originally scheduled as a tag match but Bushwhacker Luke was injured

Bret Hart fought Mr. Perfect to a draw

Jimmy Snuka defeated the Honkytonk Man (w/ Jimmy Hart); after the bout Snuka headbutted Hart

Brutus Beefcake defeated Greg Valentine

The Warlord defeated Koko B. Ware

WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan (w/ Miss Elizabeth) pinned Randy Savage (w/ Sensational Sherri) after Savage collided with Sherri on the apron; after the bout, Elizabeth slapped Savage and hit Sherri with Sherri's own purse

They list it as Tully. There's another Tully-Butch two nights earlier. Arn & Tully won the tag titles at the SNME taping two days later.

I guess this whole Todd Martin thing is ending with him working for the Torch. Basic gist I got from his announcement was that Dave is a great guy, but Alvarez is a shithead who, as has been reported many times, doesn't look out for the people who work for him and that's why Martin left.

There were times when Alvarez & Martin podcasts felt like a couple who argue constantly and then make "Opposites attract! Yin and yang!" excuses for always being at each others throats. Alvarez thought that playing constant contrarian to Martin made for great radio, which it decidedly did not.

Bryan seemed to learn his lesson on his "contrarian heel radio host" gimmick when Todd legit snapped on him over the chances CM Punk would ever come back to WWE. His argument was as things stand it was unlikely, but if Bret could find a way to return after Owen died, it's not impossible to think one day Punk would come back. Bryan did his usual pretend-to-be-dense schtick one time too many and it led to Bryan having to issue an on air apology. Ever since then it seemed like Todd would just no-sell anything Bryan would say to him.

Going out of his way to thank Dave and mentioning something about knowing who you can count on when times were tough sure came off as a giant middle finger to Bryan, but I'm sure he was too busy playing with his cats to realize he got burned.

Imagine waking up one morning and being able to set your watch to a massive epidemic of insanity during that day? Tick, tick, tick.

Either Dave is trolling or he expects something big is happening tonight (Samoa Joe?)

Although for Dave it is possible he is talking about something meaningless like the Diaz Brothers or Rousey

Interesting for Wade.

Yeah, he did go out of his way to thank Dave.

To be fair, apparently Bryan Alvarez was stuck in the middle of this situation and Admin Tony (who's responsible for the technical running of the site) was the one that wanted Todd gone.

It's an odd place to be in the middle.

Dave appears to have been on Todd's side, but Dave also has a decades long track record of sitting these type of things out while kind of hoping they just go away.

If Bryan was in the middle of a Coughlin/Tony on one side and Todd on the other, it probably wouldn't have been too hard to ask Dave where he stood and simply lean in that direction. Then again, don't know his relationship with Tony and how critical he views Tony to the operations of the place.
