I don't see why La Parka couldn't have main evented on Nitro and been one of the top 5 matches on a PPV. I don't think Parka/Savage in some wild brawl on the top half of a PPV card would be that ridiculous.

I was about to say Rick Martel. I don't know if he could have been a main eventer but a staple of the upper mid-card would have been perfect for him. Make him a constant threat for the U.S. Title and a fringe World Title guy. A DDP/Martel feud would have been really good.

Back to WWF TV. Finishing up January 1987 and the Andre turn has been handled so well.
-
My favorite Bundy promo is the one in World Class where he's on a loading dock and eating fried chicken through the whole interview. Actually that whole free agent angle with Bundy in World Class was tremendous.
-
Have you been to Columbus before? Remind me when it's closer to the event and I'll recommend you places to eat and check out if you aren't familiar with the area.

I read it a couple of years ago. It's a very Jekyll and Hyde kind of book. The parts written by Alvarez are not very good and there are some things that are completely wrong if you're familiar with what was going on. But it was a quick and enjoyable read minus those flaws.

I had a similar path with both guys. Didn't think much of them because most of my exposure to them was after they had lost a step and were in the WWF. I later go into WCCW, Mid-South and Memphis and saw younger, more agile versions of both guys. I tend to think One Man Gang was better in the ring and Bundy was a better promo.

I voted for Jericho. Jericho managed to make Dean Malenko interesting and to me that makes him a miracle worker. Go back and watch when Dean Malenko unmasked and then beat Jericho. The crowd went absolutely crazy for him. I don't think Jericho is a top flight inring guy but I don't think Matt Hardy could get an opponent over to that degree.

Miz is one of my top 5 most hated wrestlers ever. Nothing is genuine about the guy. I've hated him since Tough Enough and he's never done a thing to win me over.I hate him more than I hate Randy Orton and that's saying something. I watched Charlotte and Bayley tear down the house at an NXT show. I think she effectively uses the Flair legacy while not being stuck in her father's shadow. She's a great athlete, she has a high impact offense, she bumps and sells well and she oozes charisma in person. I'm always excited to see her on the screen.

I think it's kind of amazing how much mileage Kane got out of a gimmick that should have come and gone in about 6 months. I also think it's amazing how much bad booking he survived in his career. I think the fact that he survived the Katie Vick stuff says something about how he connected with the audience for awhile. I don't think he's a HoFer by any stretch though.

A little off topic but I really enjoyed the Michaels/Duggan Raw matches from 1993. I was really dreading those and they turned out to be fun. I liked the match Michaels/Jannetty did when Jannetty won the belt but that was it as far as their feud went. The Royal Rumble match in particular was brutally disappointing.

I would highly recommend Chikara High Noon from 2011. It's a really great top to bottom show with a wide variety of match types presented. It's probably the best Chikara show ever put on.
-
Shawn was a real chore to sit through on offense during that time period.
-
I remember really loving one of the CM Punk vs. Brent Albright matches from OVW but I can't remember which one it was. Can I go as late as 2011? If so I'm throwing out Mike Quackenbush vs. Eddie Kingston and Sara Del Ray vs. Ophidian from the 12 Large Summit.
-
Piper lasted a little longer than a year didn't he? Greg Valentine hung around near the top for a really long time as well.
-
There has never been anything better in wrestling than hearing Iron Man hit and knowing that someone was about to get the shit kicked out of them.
-
I saw that Chikara is coming to Columbus and I can get a front row seat if I want to. But I'm torn. I think it would be a really great experience to sit front row for a show like that but I also don't want to potentially end up being on film for a majority of the show. What would you guys do?
-
Yeah, the Inferno match was garbage. Dumbest gimmick ever. I think Sting/Hogan is obvious for this. Huge feud that had everyone dying to see the match and then both matches were total inring disasters.
-
I'm not propping it up as an all time classic or anything but I really like BLKout vs. Order of the Neo Solar Temple from the 2008 King of Trios. You have this joke team getting serious and giving this hard hitting team a run for their money before just getting the absolute shit stomped out of them.
-
I disagree on Hogan/Andre at least for the Mania match. It wasn't a good match but it was a satisfying end to their feud. I think you can have a so-so or bad match that still ends the feud well. I also kind of like the first Taker/Kane match. It wasn't very good but I liked how Taker just had to throw everything he had at Kane and got pushed in a way only Foley had pushed him before.

I would watch to see how long it took Kingston to fuck up and get fired.
-
My hope is all these Bullet Club guys mean that they get Tama Tonga.
-
The Bucks were obvious for this from the start. I think they're a no brainer if you can sign them. They have a lot of fans, the matches are usually fun and they're good on social media.
-
I don't hate Brodus Clay. He's not someone I like but he was pretty inoffensive to me after the heel turn.
-
They mean hyper patriotic.
