You could also split WWE into specific brands (if necessary) where one person does Raw, one does SmackDown, and one does NXT. Unless someone is bold enough to do all three, in which case, I salute you, whoever you are.

This could be really interesting depending on how it's set up.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
JHawk replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
While I normally love Prichard's podcast (even though half of his stories are full of shit), I had a hard time sitting through the Sable episode after the 14th "Meltzer hates women" rant. We get it, you don't like Meltzer, but does it have to be the focus of the entire episode? -
Guys who were with the company far longer than you remember
JHawk replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Pro Wrestling
I keep forgetting Koko B. Ware was around long enough to be in the first match ever on Raw. I thought he was gone by 1991. -
Looking very forward to this. Not enough sites focus on the history of wrestling and the ones that do won't go into this kind of depth. Can't wait to see what you do with this.

I'm hosting a weekly podcast with Jerry Jarrett - help me out!
JHawk replied to Sean Liska's topic in Pro Wrestling
I would love to hear his side of the split with Nick Gulas and the beginnings of promoting Memphis as Gulas' competition -
Bruce Prichard bugs me more and more as time goes on because things that I even know are bullshit are treated as gospel. The last straw for me was when he tried to claim the plan for the live NBC special was always Savage by countout when even the people involved in the match said otherwise. (Not that Honky Tonk Man is credible either, but in this case I'd take his word over Prichard's). With the Red Rooster thing, assuming Prichard's explanation of what the gimmick was supposed to be is accurate, why wouldn't somebody have told Terry Taylor to stop wearing a red mohawk and going "cock a doodle do" and start acting like an arrogant prick? I love Bruce's podcast but the bullshit gets thicker and thicker as time goes on.

Has wrestling gone overboard with the various streaming services?
JHawk replied to rzombie1988's topic in Pro Wrestling
Currently using the WWE Network (which is what I use the most), NJPW World, and Honor Club. Honor Club is horrible to navigate through and if it weren't for the live PPVs being included in the annual VIP price I would have cancelled it already -
Watching now. If you just want to watch the matches, skip to the 5:05:00 mark. Kushida vs. Makabe playing the new Fire Pro game is kinda fun though and is in the first hour

I work at 4am Eastern so I'll be watching when I get off work with a friend of mine (should be noon or so). My friend is more excited than I am but I am stoked for the main event

Ran one for nearly ten years, had characters for about 15. Haven't done it or thought about it except for a one shot in about eight years. I always enjoyed the absurd in e-wrestling though. One time we had two guys work together to do an "Iron Chef Match" at the height of Iron Chef's popularity. Amazing stuff.

I'm glad I had a chance to meet him at Cauliflower Alley last year. His memory was still sharp as a tack.

It surprises me that Don Owen is probably falling off the ballot completely. I get Portland was never the top territory, but it had several periods of being really hot and Owen was, next to Jerry Jarrett, the last of the territorial promoters to fold up the tent

The Carnera-Londos match from 2/3/1950 is from Chicago. Also available from that card were Benito Gardini vs. Antonino Rocca and Gene Stanlee vs. Kola Kwariani, which were both released on Wrestling's Greatest Heroes "The Golden Era".

[1999-10-17-WWF-No Mercy] Jeff Jarrett vs Chyna (Good Housekeeping)
JHawk replied to Loss's topic in October 1999
I thought the match was fun but hated the Dusty Finish (why would Teddy Long have even counted the pin if the pin wasn't going to count anyway?). Fun for what it was though. -
I enjoyed their 1983 match at the Checkerdome but I don't know if I enjoyed it enough to watch it two more times
-
I don't mind the countout but I'm not sure I really want to see the match again

WWE Week 6/19-6/26: Post MITB, Braun Return, Roman Being Roman
JHawk replied to fakeplastictrees's topic in WWE
I thought Ziggler-Nakamura was the best they've had by far, as Backlash in particular was disappointing. Enjoyed Jinder-Harper as well but the fact they're continuing the feud with Orton has me pulling my hair out -
I hate using merchandise sales as the metric. The last WWE house show I went to was about three years ago. At the merchandise stand, probably about 85% of the merchandise was for John Cena. Beyond that, there were two Roman Reigns shirt, an ugly Dolph Ziggler shirt, and a Daniel Bryan shirt. I bought an Erick Rowan sheep mask just to buy something not Cena. Seth Rollins cut a heel promo telling people to buy his shirt, which wasn't being sold in the arena. "We can't turn John Cena heel because he sells merch at a 5-to-1 level (or whatever the number is) over everyone else." Gee. I wonder why?

There's an edited version of the Pat O'Connor-Killer Kowalski 1954 Montreal World Title change up on Youtube. Only about 8 minutes total shown but pretty fun

Final act as WWA as I had promised to work an exchange agreement for George and never got around to making the deal before this.
