That's a good idea, and we actually discussed this on the show last night. Marty and I will put a top 20 or so together soon -

http://placetobenation.com/titans-of-wrestling-72-the-stampede-territory-part-6-622-727-1979-tv/ Kelly and Travis bid a bittersweet farewell to the 1970s as they examine the final two episodes pulled from the WWE Network. Highlights include: -The wonderful mess that is Duke Savage -Stu Hart lacing up the boots to kick some ass one more time -Yet more awesomeness from Big Daddy Ritter, Dynamite Kid and John Foley -Awkward head shavings, a ladder match, more thoughts on Ed Whalen, and much, much more! Once again here is the link to the Stampede footage. Would love to hear peoples thoughts about it: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0DBHLku6tpAj-ypzT3GFUj3

Titans of Wrestling #71: WWF December 1982
Ricky Jackson replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Publications and Podcasts
The truth is that Backlund had been on top for almost five years and the fans were clearly tired of him by at least as early as the summer of 82, and there was no need for conspiracies to replace him. Snuka's arrival as the hot new star played a part in Bob losing favor with the fans. In a way it's comparable to Austin and Hart in 96/97, except Bob declined the heel turn -

I've floated the idea of doing 77-78, Superstar as champ and Bob's first year on top. 75-76 is pretty much off the table -

I've always maintained that the end is the towel being tossed in for Bob, which has a nice symbolism to it -
If only Brian Last and Jim Cornette hadn't just done this on the 6:05podcast about six weeks ago... Who?

Well this will probably be the unfiltered, CWC version of the cruiserweights, so it will likely be pretty good

I Feel Like Quitting Sometimes
Ricky Jackson replied to dkookypunk43's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Good points. I would say that I think "getting yourself over" in the sense Parv meant it is more directed at those who are constantly bragging and hyping how great they are throughout a given show, and not just about being charismatic and engaging. -
Our own Marty Sleeze reporting live says this is false

Do you have a link for Fuji vs Strongbow? I poked around youtube briefly but it was late. I've seen you talk about it before but haven't watched it. Happy to do so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lrf8-b3KdGY&list=PLV6RCTo_Cd0BXlaewfw9iR2lIqGUQqfdl&index=1 It's the second to last match on this card, the first one ever televised from MSG

Meltzer made a good point that the first ever female main event should be something promoted weeks in advance and not a last minute decision like it would be Sunday

Only the Titans have the strength to survive those trials

That is the most untrue statement in the history of the world. I will go back to my own quote from the "How Important is Commentary" thread in this very forum: I would never make the claim that Ed was one of the all time greats, but this is pretty over the top hyperbole. Ed was/is beloved by a lot of people, he wasn't an incarnation of the devil. And all his supposed behind the scenes transgressions are overstated. The big angle you mention, involving Stomper and Bad News, Ed was in on. He "quit" to sell the severity of the situation, and only when the negative publicity in Calgary spiraled out of control did he decide not to come back. He had nothing to do with the show being cancelled, that was the athletic commissions doing. As for Ed's interactions with the heels during interviews, if you can't find entertainment value there I don't know what else to say, it's great pro wrestling IMO -
I recommend everyone in podcasting or wanting to get into podcasting to teach themselves how to edit. Seriously, it's not hard. The first few attempts will be rough around the edges, but it doesn't take long to learn how to put together something decent. When I first started I thought it would be a lot more difficult. I would at least download Audacity and practice with that. There are several online tutorials out there, and anyone feel free to pm me for help. As for recording, downloading MP3 Skype Recorder is the free and easy way to go, although sometimes unreliable. But you aren't a real podcaster until you've experienced lost audio! Once you have it downloaded you can set it to automatically start recording as soon as the Skype call starts. Anyway, that's my two cents. Buy a guitar, learn three chords and start a band
